Detailed Reviews
We travelled to Eden for Shellharbour and stayed in an ensuite powered site even though we are self-sufficient. From the initial booking to arriving and departing the owners accommodated not only my husband and I but our fur babies. Fantastic location, spotless amenities and the cutest wildlife. I needed to use the $2 dryer and was pleasantly surprised how clean and well equipped the laundry area was including fenced clothesline and pegs “BONUS” Easy walk to a delightful little café across the road then a walked into town. Eden is very hilly with beautifully erected boardwalks starting across the road from the caravan park. Definitely Returning. Thank you to the Park Managers for making our stay so enjoyable

We stayed in the Honeysuckle Point Studio which we found comfortable and value for money. Really helpful service from Peter & Lyn throughout and even a phone call before we arrived to manage expectations about the accomodation. The heating was turned on so that the cabin would be warm when we arrived. Thank you Peter & Lyn! We enjoyed our time in Eden and the cosy cabin. It was self contained with little kitchenette and utensils if you wanted to cook a meal.

The Managers, Peter and Lyn, of this park need a good medal, they provide outstanding service. Peter and Lyn work non-stop! Nothing is too much trouble, they make this park! Our grass site was generous. There is a great board walk nearby, we rode our bikes along it into Eden.
Eating out is limited in Eden; The pub, fish n chips, pizza, Chinese,
Fisherman's Club. Pambula a 25 minute drive away offers more.
Sprout coffee shop in the main street is a great coffee.
The owners need to spend some money on the facilities, toilets/ showers need attention.

Thank you for your good review on the Park. We are passionate about the Park and our customers so I am glad it shows. We are in for a few new eateries with all the renovations and works that are going on in Eden, so that will give a bit more of a selection. Yes great coffee at Sprout and Rusty Plough.. I will pass your comments on to our owners in regards to the facilities, they are always happy for feedback. Hopefully we will see you again

We booked early and firstly had to pay for full payment up front before arrival. Eden being a holiday destination area but caravan park was poorly equipped with toilets and showers for the amount of people staying there. We had booked for 7 nights but due to recommended leave action in place due to fires on south coast we had to leave a day early and upon enquiry we could not get a refund so one night powered site for a caravan ($75 per night for a powered site for a van) was wasted. We were however offered a credit of the one night but we won’t be heading that way again in the next 12 months. Toilets were not cleaned on a daily basis. Even though signed off stating what time they were cleaned daily, my husband saw the same bit of gum in the same spot in the urinal for days. Also toilet paper strewn across the floor. Staff were friendly and close to town but would go somewhere else if ever went back.

Sorry Joanne your holiday turned out the way it did. We have done our best in asking people to leave for their own safety. We have held the funds at this stage against everyone's name whilst we deal with the evacuation situation here. We will be going through them all and refunding those who do not wish to have a credit when we get through this dangerous period. In reference to the toilets they were cleaned at 5 am everyday and were checked by myself at 7am. When our cabin cleaners finished at lunch timer they too cleaned the toilets. At 4pm the mangers (myself & my husband and our relief managers checked and tidied and topped up all toilet paper. Inbetween these times there were a lot of people using the block and with the ash around also did not help. I will follow up the gum situation with the cleaners. Thank you for your review Eden Gateway Holiday Park

Stayed here over the Easter long weekend. The park itself is quite nice. Nice grassy areas, large shady trees and bellbirds make for quite a tranquil location... at least the spot where we were camped. The highway is close by but can’t say that it was much of a bother to us. The staff area very friendly and accommodating. The grounds keeper also shows people personally to their spot to ensure they know where to set up which is a nice touch. Any complaints? Kind of... The amenities are very average. This in itself wouldn’t be a huge issue if they were clean! Every time I visited them, only once did they appear clean. Not sure how often they say they are cleaned but compared to the many other parks we have stayed, id say once a day MAX, and it shows. The ladies toilets as I write has been without soap all day! If they were thoroughly cleaned last night or this morning, or sometime in the last 24hrs that would have been checked. Not one cubicle in the mens was clean this morning. I realize the staff would naturally disagree with this but please know, I like this park, and am only reporting my truthful experience. I also know that trying to clean up after some of the disrespectful people who occasionally visit these parks, is a highly underpaid job!!

Thank you for your honest review. I do understand we had a lot of people using the toilets and we cannot go in after everyone., all day. ' They were definitely cleaned in the morning and we did do the evening clean. The men's was bad on Sunday our cleaner had to give a hot wash right through, although this might have been after you had been in there. It is impossible to get in the toilets before 9 as everyone is using them. It would be nice if people used their toilet manners they have for there own home when they use ours. I apologise for the soap and on our late clean we did fill all the empty ones. Once again, thank you for your honesty and we will take this on board going forward.

The place is a dump. We were put in cabin 39, up with permanent residents and hobos. There were little black bugs on the bed, and in it. Fluro light in the bathroom didn't stay on, and flicked on and off. Light covers were attached with cable ties, tv cables were exposed, and loosely hanging down. We left, the office was unattended so we put the keys in the box, and booked into a hotel in town, happily at twice the price. When we contacted the park, they declined a refund, said it was clean, and fluro lights are designed to flicker.

You booked a budget studio obviously due to cost & it is clearly described as such online, there is no need for you to be derogatory with regard to our residents because you did not like the location of the studio in the park. What you have described above with regard to what you were advised is totally incorrect. You were simply asked for photographic evidence as when the studio was inspected the following morning there was no evidence whatsoever of same.

The cabin was very small - not good value for $89 per night. The cleaner must have left in a hurry - the shower curtain was left on the ground (I had to rehang it to stop water spraying out of the shower) and an old mop with old toilet paper was left in the tiny bathroom in a container. These are all a bit 'off-putting' when you stay one night. The bed was old and worn and not very comfortable.
I would avoid this caravan park. It seems to be untidy and haphazard.

Thank you Phil for your comments. 89.00 is the normal price for a budget cabin, has everything you need. However, we will speak to housekeeping this is a very unusual thing for one of them to miss. We do have such good reviews on our cabins, budget or not and our housekeeping.

We would like to say thankyou to you and your team who made our stay very easy and enjoyable. We were always greeted with a smile and the team was very visual working around the park keeping things clean and tidy.
The kids enjoyed the jumping pillow, pool and tv room.
The bathrooms were always kept lean and tidy.

Our 2 bedroom cabin was fantastic and fully equipped for two couples, and as there was only 2 of us staying we had heaps of room. Unfortunately the conditions of the roads inside the park were terrible, full of large holes and extremely rough to drive on. The owners really need to spend some dollars on them before someone sues for damages to their vehicle or self.

Check in was super fast and lyn is so lovely. We stayed in a cabin which was absolutely wonderful. Has everything you need, large kitchen, toilet, shower, washing machine, great size dining area. We loved the electric blanket, especially in the winter. You could hear the birds singing all day, very peaceful atmosphere. At night you can have a fire in your own barrel, that's the cherry on top! We have already booked another getaway here and we haven't left yet. If you want to stay in Eden look no further that Eden Gateway! You wont be disappointed
