Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

*American-esque dirty hook up motel-ers this is for you...

Walking into the reception we asked for any accomodation, hoping to strike a deal (at 1900 hrs) having seen the place the cheapest on booking sites. We were quoted over $130 yet it showed $108 online- to which they matched. However ....

This is a box with a bed, nothing more. The door to the 'bathroom' fell off the hinges when we first arrived and the TV is smaller than the microwave! The bathroom is grubby and to put it simply I paid similar to my stay in Sydney centre a mear 2 days ago to a nice 'basic' hotel. So, this is not worth your money.

Unless of course you are into the above title. No judgement here.

The facilities could use a little TLC but that is my only constructive criticism.

That said, the room was comfortable and the staff were both approachable and professional - two things that I really enjoyed were the location and the Indian restaurant on site (I'm a big fan of the garlic naans).

I'd be happy to stay here when I return to Eden.

I have read some of the reviews above (post stay), there is an element of truth to them. The rooms are small and they could benefit from some attention. For us we just needed a place to sleep and shower, and it served this purpose well. The room was quiet, dry and clean. The staff were very accomodating when we wanted to stay an extra day. The price was competitive compared with others in the area. Please note our TV was new and large.

The greeting from the front desk was courteous and helpful.
We had booked a king room
The room was depressingly small, it seemed tired and worn out.
It was clean!
The curtain was torn, the fly screen held together with bluetac, the mirror in the bathroom was missing but it was on the dinning table, there was a cobweb on the ceiling light, the towels seemed very worn, the reading lamp on the bed was missing a globe, the TV Remote won’t turn the TV on or off, but would change channels.
The TV wasn’t tuned into any channels.
The constant trucks passing through the roundabout during the night kept us awake

Very Poor. Rooms are in need of a major refurbishment. Location is very good and I though this would warrant a better class of place. Receptionist was unhelpful and surly. Probably the worst room I have booked in a very long time. You can find better in Eden. Also note that the images on this site hardly reflect the true condition of the room I stayed in. You have been warned.

We stayed 2 nights on a driving holiday for our 20th wedding anniversary. The staff were lovely and helpful. The bed was incredibly comfy. The room was clean and quiet. Water pressure was great. The motel is located an easy walk to cafes and shops. We enjoyed our stay and will go back.

Stayed here on our way to Melbourne from Sydney for one night. The hosts were friendly and reminded us of the cast of faulty towers (in a positive way!). They made us laugh several times with their unintentional antics. Room was old fashioned and dated but had everything one would need. Pity about the fleas in the bed, could hardly sleep because of the itching. Woke up covered in flea bites. Looked under the mattress and saw a couple of dead fleas. The next morning the owner was apologetic and said they'd just had motel flea treated. We had ordered a room service breakfast for 7.30am the next day as we wanted to set off reasonably early for our long drive. By 7.30am we were packed, ready to go, just needed to have breakfast. By 8am we were still waiting. Couldn't get hold of reception via the phone. Walked to reception and waited for a while before owner came out (still in her pyjamas) and asked when we would be getting our breakfast (by then it was 8.30am). They had completely forgotten that we had ordered breakfast and hadn't got anything ready for us the night before (as they usually do apparently), so we told them that we would get breakfast elsewhere, which was a shame as we couldn't even have a cuppa tea before we left (no milk in room). Owner apologetic again. Friendly owners whose antics made the stay better, but probably wouldn't stay here again by choice.

This motel had the last available family room on New Years Day between Sydney and Eden. From the look of the photos, and fairly positive reviews, we were pretty happy to snap it up.
We arrived late, at 8.30pm, and after collecting the room keys went to drop our stuff before going out to find dinner.
The room was big and looked fine. There was, however, a distinct odour of urine in the room. Because the balcony window and bathroom window were open, it was faint, but as the rest of my family hadn't noticed, I didn't pay it much attention, and we hurried out to the Chinese restaurant up the road.
We got back to our room late and wanted a cup of tea, but there was no milk provided in the room. My kids had showers, and by the time we were all ready to go to bed, it was gone 11pm.
My oldest child climbed into her bed and immediately said, "my bed's wet". We checked the sheets, and sure enough, they were damp, the protector sheet was damp and the mattress was WET. The smell of urine was unmistakeable and all of us had touched this bedding.
After scrubbing ourselves clean, my partner rang the only number available in the room, which was to be found at the bottom of a motel pamphlet. There was no answer, so he left a message. He then went over to the office and found a number to ring there. A drowsy sounding manager answered and said there was nothing she could do as she was off site.
There was nothing we could do either. Nowhere else to go and stay, so my kids slept top and tail in the other single bed and we all slept in a room smelling of urine.
Compounding this, was the paper thin walls - I could hear someone snoring in the room upstairs.
The next morning, the office re-opens at 9. Did the manager come immediately to our room and apologise/check how we were/ survey the scene? No, she did not. We had to go and find her just before checking out. She was vaguely apologetic and said she had spoken to her boss and could offer us half our money back. Firstly I thought she was the 'boss' and secondly, I think a full refund was probably in order.
We took the half refund. Mainly because I was still in a state of disbelief that it had even happened, and also just wanted to leave. With hindsight, of course we should have insisted on a full refund. There are a lot of things that should have been done differently. The manager should have got out of bed and attended the motel as soon as possible after our call, and removed the mattress from the room for a start.
What makes this experience so horrible is that the motel housekeeping would have known the bed was wet when they changed the linen. A conscious decision was made to remake a bed soaked in urine and allow the next unwitting guest to check in and make contact with that bed. That guest was my 10 year old child, who actually climbed in to it.
I wonder what health and safety authorities would make of that?

Nothing to write home about. Rooms very small and dated for the rather expensive rates. Bed was comfortable.

Parking was a nightmare. Three guests WITH 4WD and boats on trailers took up almost half of the available spaces in the entire parking area. SOME people have no concern about fellow travellers. But then again what can you expect from bogans from Victoria.

Township just a short walk. Fishermans Club at the end of Imlay Street is worth a visit. Food very good and beer is cold.

Would not stay here again.

Stayed in a Queen standard room for 2 nights. The room was extremely small and extremely out of date, although it was pretty clean...... We found the rooms had paper thin walls and had to listen to the "Neighbours" every movement throughout the night as well as a neighbouring dog that insisted on barking through the wee hours of the morning. The bed was not comfortable - slept on the cords of the electric blanket with poor quality pillows. I would not recommend - we booked here as nothing else was available over the Easter weekend - wouldn't return here........ The only thing we found positive here was the central location - within walking distance of everything in Eden - very central.
