I travelled to Mitchum's with 11 other friends for my birthday a couple of weekends ago and had a fantastic time! The negative reviews below are not reflective of the campsite we stayed at! It was a brilliant way to spend my birthday and we all agreed that Mitchum's is a friendly, welcoming, extremely clean campsite in a good location...

My wife and I visited Croyde for the first time the other week. We heard a lot of great things about Mitchum's campsite from friends and so we decided to check it out for ourselves. The site is wonderful. The village site is a prime location, situated near the pleasant village centre and a short walk to the beach. The...

Me and my partner originaly tried to get a pitch at ruda campsite just down the road, after finding it was fully booked we booked mitchums. We were a bit unsure about staying at the site due to the reviews. But after staying there we were really impressed. The shower and toilet facilities were cleaned regularly and kept clean the...

Staff were constantly nagging us on small issues such as where we park cars. We never made noise but they still felt the need to remind us not to make noise every 2 minutes and if we did make any noise they would of taken all of our deposits which totaled at £270, they were looking for excuses to take...

If you're a quiet couple after a quiet time and happy to be tucked up in your tent with a mug of cocoa come 11pm, then this place is for you. The facilities are excellent, and the site is well positioned for all the amenities and attractions of Croyde. In addition, you will be assured of a good night's sleep,...

This group had previously contacted the beach site, which has a slightly higher rate and different checkout time due to this. Unfortunately they were unable to stay at the beach site due to size of their group and tent. They were given the option of staying at the village site at a cheaper rate, which they accepted. All terms and...

Spacious pitches, clean facilities, good site layout. All spoilt by the campsite manager, Faye. When her father (Guy, the owner) was called in, all problems were resolved in a matter of minutes. Would I recommend the campsite ? Yes. Would I check that Faye had been moved to a non-customer facing role first ? Absolutely !

We arrived at Mitchum's for a long weekend - 8 of us in a mixed group. We were welcomed warmly by the fantastic staff, clean bathrooms and nice fellow campers. Staying on the Beach site, it was fantastic to be able to walk to the beach so quickly, rent boards and wetsuits on site (from the very helpful and knowledgable...

From a very inexperience camper's perspective, I couldn't have asked for more! The girls at reception and the person who I spoke to on the phone were super-friendly and welcoming. The campsite was very clean - showers, toilets, area for washing up dishes. Plus there plenty of groups partying away in town as well as couples and families with children...

Brillaint campsite for many reasons: - the staff were very friendly and helpful - the facilities were very clean - the views from Mitchums Beach site are stunning - the surrounding area has everything you need, shops, pubs, nightlife, arcades, etc I will be returning for sure!

I have been a keen Croyde camper for a few years now- the place is FANTASTIC….great beach, great atmosphere, great locals, great pubs and a bunch of great campsites I have always been fairly impressed with Mitchums- having stayed at both their village site and the beach site numerous times. The campsite is a good clean basic site (if not...

“Upper field for small cars/solo tents/ 2 or 3 people max, this is closer to the main hut so more likely to get peace and quiet here compared to the lower field for groups of noisy campers where those supposedly enforcing the "behaviour bond" quiet policy don't seem to venture.”

“I haven't rated the service as this would be misleading....for all the staff, especially the couple of young lads and the lady there it would have been an "Excellent" and quite frankly they all deserve medals for putting up with him but unfortunately this brilliant service was cancelled out by the owner.”
