This is a lovely place to stay for a budget holiday on Milos. The rooms are simple but they all have a marvelous view and the place is super quiet. You can hear the sea from the room when you have your windows open. The hosts are helpful and they will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
We had a delicious lunch in this charming family hotel. Set high above the beach, with spectacular views, it was a lovely cool place to shelter from the sun. There's a path from the hotel leading right down to the beach - what a place to stay. And there are tortoises!
A magical place with wonderful people. From the moment we walked in, we were given the warmest welcome. The setting was serene, with beautiful sunset views. We were able to do our wedding dance on the enormous terrace. The hotel's taverna was so good, that we ate every meal there; the house wine was lovely, too. The staff gave excellent suggestions on activities around Milos, and went out of their way to make us happy. Had we known about Galini when we booked our trip, we would have stayed there the entire time we were in Greece.
When I arrived on Milos, having never been there before, I was concerned that I had made a mistake. It did not look like much more than a desert and the hotel seems to be out in the middle of nowhere. Quickly I learned of its charm and started enjoying the seclusion. It was so wonderful sitting on the patio in the evenings, listening to nature and the waves, reading or playing a game of cards against my husband. This hotel makes you relax and enjoy the simple things in life. What a find! I must emphasize that the restaurant is really really good! We ate there every day and we were not disappointed in the least! The beach below was wonderful for swimming or just bobbing amongst the small waves. You could lounge out there for a good part of the day. The hotel provides beach towels and an umbrella at request. Wifi was fine, not great but adequate. The aircon worked well. Cleanliness: Our room was spotless! I mean just spotless! Even the corners were clean! Adventure: We thought to venture out one day and walked east along the beach passing Pachena Beach to reach the Papafragas inlets. I googled it and the pictures looked wonderful. After a hot walk, we found these inlets, along with everyone else. It was really crowded and there was not any beach/sand available without sitting on others so we went back to our "own" beach and Hockey Strand inlet. The swimming is nicer here anyways! Ana, one of the hotel owners is lovely and you can feel her adoration for her guests and for life in general! Extra tips: The taxi from the port or town should cost no more than 12-15 euros. - Captain Yangos' day-long boat rides are wonderful! We saw the whole island and its many various rock formations, had a great lunch and stopped to swim 3 times for only 40 euro each. - Bring bug spray. I was eaten a few times, my husband was not. - Bring good walking shoes since you can walk around the area and check out the various beaches. Walk and check out the lovely church and the small vacation homes just northeast of the hotel. - Ana has a good taxi service which she will call for you. - Snorkeling was OK. Not great, but not bad. - I was thankful for my waterproof sand/beach shoes.…
Stayed her for 5 nights in June 2018. We had a car for the whole period, so for us this was the ultimate location in the middle of everything. Supermarket, gas station, beaches and what ever you need in just minutes by car. The beach just 150m away is good enough, but a bit too much hard stones to enter easily. If you are looking for an somewhat secluded place to enjoy some peace and privacy, this hotel will suit you well. Haakon FR
