We were at the Double Tree for new student orientation at NCSU and may I say that we were very impressed. From the freshly baked cookies to the friendly staff at the desk, we were very glad that we chose to stay at the Double Tree. In particular, Marie Mclean was very helpful with giving directions about State's campus. We...

Forrest S, Glad you feel you made a good decision staying with us. We want the DoubleTree by Hilton Raleigh Brownstone to be your hotel of choice over the next several years as a NCSU student's parent. Thanks for the review. FYI, Marie Mclean was the Employee of the Year at our hotel in 2015!!

Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience during this visit. I was not greeted as a Hilton Honors Member and thus did not receive the complimentary water that I was supposed to receive at check in. During check in, I saw a letter on the desk that said that there would be no hot water or air conditioning from 9 am...

Alicia G, As I mentioned in one of the other reviews we had an emergency situation were we needed to replace a major electrical breaker. We alerted our guest of the situation and tried to get the work done as fast as possible. As for the fire alarm and fire trucks, Duke Power had transformer blow at the intersection next...

Check in was fine, Rooms were clean and nice for the Double Tree branding. Nothing exceeded or was special, just normal room. Was on 2nd floor halfway down hall; however wireless Internet was very poor and there was no way to connect otherwise. Nice hotel, very convenient to NC State. Breakfast was slightly above average for the Hilton brand however,...

Water and A/C were our almost all day on first day including elevators. Checking out was a disaster when I asked to use a different card. Multiple wrong charges my CC flagged fraud and had to call twice. To be fair the front desk and room service customer service were really good but room service was also shut down the...

732ttravels, We had to change a major electrical break that required the power be shut down for approximately 4-5 hours. I apologize for the inconvenience. I will say safe, quiet and clean all sound good to me. Thanks Bill

First off, the hotel has an excellent location if visiting NC State University. Free parking and balconies with great views to downtown and the campus area are a plus. It is an older property. If you are looking for a modern hotel this isn't for you. I enjoy older hotels, especially from the 60's and 70's so I was looking...

apresentlane, Your review has a strong sense that management abandoned the situation and threw the staff to the wolves. While some things could have been handled differently I can only speak to the fact that I was at this hotel on Sunday from 2:30 pm till 10:15 pm. I was working with one of our Engineering team members in the...

From mid-June to mid-July I had an excellent stay at this hotel while working together with a R&D group at the NCSU North Campus. The hotel is conveniently located next to the campus, with a couple of nice food establishements (David's and the Player's Retreat) across the street, and additional ones at the nearby shopping centre Cameron Village. The best...

This hotel is conveniently located near my in-town office. I enjoyed being so close and also close to NCSU and many good restaurant and nightlife options. The rooms are comfortable and the balcony was a nice bonus, but lacked furniture. Parking was a bit cumbersome: places are small, few are near the entrances and the front entrance lacks a good...

I decided to make a weekend of my business trip in Raleigh. This hotel was great! It's walking distance to NCSU, shopping, dinning and bars. There's plenty of commercial and local entertainment options around it. The room was a good size, but the bathroom was very small. Almost no counter space. I was greeted by warm cookies typical of the...

Stayed at this hotel because of my past experiences at Doubletree and the convenience to the NC State campus. This is an older, renovated hotel but does a good job of maintaining the expected Doubletree reputation for cleanliness and service. Did eat at the breakfast buffet which was adequate.
