Don't understand why the owner works in this type of business if he hates his job this bad. Rudest person I've ever personally dealt with. Will cuss you up and down if you ask a question at all. Don't know how this place is still running. Looks like a drug haven due to the people that walk in and out of there.

This place was horrible. Room was filthy, carpet smelled, ceiling had water damage and cobwebs everywhere...pool was nice but water was very low and they never turned on lights at night so pool area was very dark. The male manager that was there In the morning was very rude and unfriendly...just plain hateful. The dining area was moldy and filthy and the continental breakfast consisted of little boxes of cereal and nasty coffee out of nasty filthy containers...would not recommend this place to anyone EVER!!!

Very poorly kept place. Room carpet sticky, noisy rattling AC, dirty coffee pot, cable kept going out, no microwave in some rooms. I was told it was my fault because I didn't request a microwave, even though I was not informed that some rooms don't have them. So called breakfast was unappetizing, eating area was gross, dark, dirty, smelly, dead stink bug was in a container near the food, eating area stinks with mildew smell and big black wet stains on wall and floor. NO STAFF at front desk in morning, even at check out! To check out I stood and continuously rang two different bells and still waited about 7 minutes before a man arrived with an I don't want to be here attitude and some latex gloves on that been I don't know where, that he never took off. I told him I was waiting to check out, he said ok, you just leave the keys and go. I asked him for an itemized room receipt and he said your credit card receipt is your only receipt. (The credit card receipt has a different hotel name, different amount charged and no details). I told him that I requested an itemized room receipt when I checked in and was told that my receipt would be waiting for me at check out. He said there is no receipt here that I can give you. I then asked for the name of the manager/owner. He reluctantly gave me a first name and I had to ask twice for a last name. I told him I would speak with the manager about them doing better there. He said he was the Day Manager and wanted to know what my comments were. As I was explaining a particular experience he cut me off and began yelling at me and said it was my fault. A few minutes into the yelling a female employee came to the front and attempted to calm him down and told him to go in the back and I turned to leave also. Then he yelled out the F*** word at me. Shortly after some other customers came to the front desk and heard the details of the commotion and said they agree with me about the place because they also were having a bad experience/dispute with them. WORST experience ever! DO NOT Ruin your travels by staying here.

Thia motel says it belongs to Days Inn but falls way below their standards. It seemed to be operated by two teenagers when we checked in. The bathroom walls were almost collapsing, the bath mat was little better than a rag. Only redeeming feature was the beds which seemed clean and comfortable.

Coffee machine gross. Didn't matter because there was no coffee anyway. Ice Machine was broken. No sign of promised breakfast in the morning. No sign of hotel staff in the morning. Facecloths looked like cleaning rags. They were actually grey. Ac could not keep up on a cool night. Sheets were clean and beds were very comfortable. Good news no bed bugs and all the stink bugs were dead...

Dear hshobx, On behalf of the staff of Americas Best Value Inn, I would like to personally apologize for the issues you experienced during your visit in May 2013. Sorry for taking so long to respond. Our daily continental breakfast includes: toast, bagels, cereal, juice, coffee, oatmeal, muffins, pecan rolls, apples and bananas served daily from 6-9 am. Perhaps you came down after breakfast hours? Our linens are ordered monthly and not sure why you had discolored ones in your room. I am sorry that we could not meet your expectations. Pulled off I-40 late Saturday night, too tired to drive further safely. We checked in late and exhausted. Front desk clerk had no personality at all. Not glad to see us, not helpful, did bare minimum; (i think we must have disturbed his sleep or TV show.) We asked price and then about AAA or Senior discounts, he grunted "The price is the price." Too tired to continue, we just took it.
When we got to the room and opened the door, the room was hot and humid.... we turned on the AC and fell into bed.
The photos we took when we woke up hardly capture the run down state of the room and one has to wonder about the entire facility. In our opinion, charging full price for such a ill-kept run down facility is NOT the "Best Value in America."
When checking out at 8 am, we noticed the 'FREE Breakfast' sign and asked the clerk about it, he shrugged and nodded "Over there.". Breakfast was nothing more than brown bananas, poorly stocked cereal and a few mismatched assortment of breads in a dark room that had the chairs still on the tables upside down... Not exactly welcoming anyone for breakfast. Makes you wonder how long the two inches of cereal, in the two plastic containers have been sitting in there... Because if the bananas were a guide, quite a while! We opted after seeing the unused "breakfast" room, and the ill-kept condition of our room, to find breakfast elsewhere.
The only silver lining was the bed was comfortable and the air conditioner worked great.

Driving from Nashville to Ashville (theres a song title right there) We decided it was time to pull in, mistake #1! Presented with a choice of three motels we were seduced by the name of this one. I entered the reception lobby and was too cowardly to run straight out, furnished and last cleaned sometime during Nixons presidency, I saw my hand reach for the buzzer, darn, too late I summoned the innkeeper. After long enough to read the numerous posters about additional charges applied to third party bookings, A pleasant enough chap appeared and confirmed that a room was indeed available at a walk in cost of some $65, a tad pricey, but again, my cowardly nature let me down and we went for it. He informed me that a Hot breakfast would be provided in the restaurant between 6 and 9 and off I went to the allocated room with the family.
Upon entering the room and marvelling at the creative use of bare wiring as a christmas decoration just above the door, reassured that we would not be kept awake by the bedside lamps, nor indeed woken up too early by the alarm (as both of these items were dead) we evicted the cockroach (see footnote) and the 3 of us made the best use of the 2 disposable cups, we made ourselves at home, assuming home is a place in the projects, in 1963, and upon realising the excellent quality of the woodwork around the door, jammed one of the chairs against it, put the chain on, locked the door and closed, well nearly closed, the curtains. The beds are high quality items with good solid matresses, they must be to have lasted this long, however tired you are when you check in, you'll not be as tired as the beds.
We slept, our sleep interrupted only occasionally, say every 40 minutes, by the muffler-free redneck pickups racing along the main road, and in the morning we rose early, not to make an early start, just to get out of there while we still could.
We walked over to the restaurant to find some instant oatmeal, a toaster, some random bread and a restaurant that looked like it might have seen busier times, chairs stacked up, step ladders under ominous stains and the three of us turning right round to get out.
Dirty, damp, disgusting and above all else, annoying. Annoying because the chap I checked in with is obviously an intelligent guy, we had a short conversation, he's travelled, he, and his family are well educated so why? Why on earth would anyone think this is acceptible in 2015. My comments about the room are not an exaggeration, I wish they were, cracked tiles, grubby walls and ceiling, forget security, a CRT television from the 80's is the only modern thing in there - My wife informs me that it wasn't a cockroach it was a stinkbug (whatever that might be) - we slung out, well it didn't fly, it bounced and it ran off - whatever it was, it wasn't welcome and there was no evidence of any means to dissuade them.
We were tempted to leave the bathroom light on all night, purely for reassurance, unfortunately the fan in the ceiling (caked in dust) made a noise that drowned out both the redneck racers and the noisy air-con heater that seemed to be stuck on hot - darned hot! Actually It was loud enough to drown out anything you can imagine, apart from that niggling voice that says "run, run whilst you can"
IF this is America's best Value offering, then I would hate to go downmarket.

Had three rooms booked at confirmed rate for a total of 8 nights with confirmation number and the name of the person I talked with. When checking in did the paper work and and double checked and the rate was jumped. I informed them of conformation # and rate quoted. Sorry we must charge this rate. After told to cancel all they dropped to confirmed rate but up stair's . When I called local (Not Net Booking) I requested away from the interstate pool side due to boats and needed plug ups. No problem and booked. Once arriving the rate changed. Only $15 and night but hell no it will not work. Canceled Transaction for all rooms and moved across the street to Super 8. Same rate as jumped rate but do not play JUMP game.At American Best they told me I was lying even with confirmation # and the name of the man I talked with. NEVER EVER STAY HERE.
