Detailed Reviews
The hotel was clean and comfortable. Great shower. The continental breakfast had very little options and very little seating. The cost of the one night stay was overpriced in my opinion. It definitely was not a luxury stay. Disappointed in this stay.

Stayed here due to it being close to the blue ridge parkway. Clean rooms, a little outdated. Breakfast was not good. No toast, waffles and one choice of muffin. Very bare minimum. Instant oatmeal. For what we payed we will stay elsewhere on our next bike trip!! Disappointed.

Check in was quick and efficient. They have a popcorn machine in the lobby and they had fresh popcorn available. The hotel is two floors with an elevator at one end. It is a long walk down a hall to some of the rooms. Our king bedded room was large and comfortable. There was a desk and an easy chair with a foot stool. There were plenty of outlets in the bedside lamps and at the desk that we appreciated a lot. The room was nicely decorated and included a microwave and refrigerator. We had plenty of space for our luggage as well. The top of the AC was nice and deep so we could place a suitcase there and the other one occupied the luggage rack. The only thing I could fault in the room was that the TV was too small. If you sat in the easy chair you were a full 10 feet away and the TV, which was probably a 32”. A larger TV would made the room just about perfect. The bathroom had a large vanity with plenty of place for toiletries but I’d have liked a towel rod for the hand towel - just had to toss it on the counter. The bed slept fine but it is really high so anyone with short legs might be a tad challenged to get in and out.
Internet - was good until it ground to a stop. When this happened, everything stopped for about 10 minutes. I never figured out what was happening there. This happened during our entire three day stay.
Breakfast was a disappointment - scrambled eggs from a bag, sausage with no taste, off brand yogurt, only 2% milk for cereal, watered down juice and odd tasting coffee. I have enjoyed much better breakfasts at other Comfort Inns. They had one waffle maker and a line for that (the waffle was the best option by far for breakfast). This hotel seems to be providing the bare minimum to get by per Comfort guidelines. The breakfast area has six tables (2 four person and 4 two person for a total of 16 seats). Three of the tables were very close to the serving area. The clearance makes it difficult for people to sit and for others to serve themselves. The space might work when the hotel has low occupancy but we were there for a long weekend when all 56 rooms were full. Folks were tripping over each other.
I rate the room a four and the breakfast a two.

Thank you for posting a review aobut the Comfort Inn in Marion NC. We read that your stay was pleasant but had some concerns about a few things. In regards to the tv in the rooms, those are new and part of the upgrades that were done to the hotel this past year as well as the entire bedding and furniture. For each hotel we have guidelines we have to follow and this is what we have done. We will put this on the list of items for review in the future. We appreciate any suggestions from each guest. Currently our breakfast is being changed over and hope that you wil lbe able to enjoy a better breakfst when travelling in the area again. We will be sure to take the suggestions you made and bring them to the departments that handle them. Thank you again for your posting and wish you safe travels Sincerely Management and Staff

I stayed at the Comfort Inn in Marion, NC when we had some bad weather. the room was nice and cozy. Bed was very comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. Even with a modified breakfast it was more than what other hotels are providing their guests !! I look forward to staying again when I return to the area !

My husband and I drove from Bel Air MD to Marion NC to surprise my sister for her 75th surprise birthday party. We needed a place to stay after driving 8 hours. We arrived at the Comfort Inn in Marion, NC around 10:30 PM. Our stay, even just the one night was wonderful. The Comfort Inn really lives up to it's name. The beds were just right, the Comfort Inn was very clean, it was quiet, and the staff was so polite and helpful, both evening and morning staff. The Comfort Inn was not expensive and was centered locally in the town. I would suggest this Comfort Inn to all travelers heading in this direction. 5 stars

I stayed here during a weekend trip this past weekend to see the leaves. When I checked in at the Comfort Inn, I was greeted by friendly staff that got me checked in quickly and safely. When I got to my room I was amazed by the cleanliness and how modern the bathroom was. It looked like it has been renovated very recently. Coming in, I did not expect any breakfast - as many other hotels I have stayed at did not offer it due to COVID. To my surprise, I was provided a self-serve breakfast with a bacon egg and cheese muffin and various drinks. Overall, the location was great, the rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. Will definitely stay again!

The Comfort Inn in Marion, NC is centrally located, convenient to I-40 and downtown Marion. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly and welcoming. A little pricey for the area, (IMO) but few options. I would recommend this hotel.

I give credit for friendly staff and comfortable bed in clean room. Take away for high pet fee ($49.99) when have easy clean flooring, and no easy area to walk dog at night - only a 2ft strip along side of hotel, gravel out back and grass way up front far from exit doors. Left without breakfast as did not have much variety - 1 muffin, no fruit, 2 cereals, and even egg muffins were diy prep.

not the properties fault nor any employees. This place is hidden.one sm sign on hwy 70 and traffic was heavy, we went around 2x on hwy70 and 221 .we were tired needed to rest and find food. There is no entry from the main hwy#221. yu must get to hwy#70 and have nothing in the way of this tiny sign, then make a turn onto another group of business parking lot go around them and in the back is this Comfort Inn.
I made reservations here, 20 miles from our families home, because they had a promo that said "stay 2 nights and get a $50 card or use $50 as a reward credit for your next stay at a Choice Privileges property. We are staying 2 nights for a family reunion
in Rutherfordton so I signed up.Got to property in Marion and as desk clerk to make sure my registration went thru for the special and she couldn't tell me but gave me a number. One hour and 5 mins later, I find the two nights must be at 2 different properties, can't get credit for my 2 nights I have paid for. duh 2 nights in one of Choices properties and no credit for the $50, but if we stayed here tonight and went down the road and stayed another night up until Aug.1st, I would get the $50 credit for use for night 3. We're leaving hete after 2nd night going home so no credit for tomorrow night. Since we've been Choice reward members for years, we get points but this loyal member can't
get the promo for the $50
credit. Customer service as well as, loyalty to their brand, means ?*?*?* zilch.
Never again. They lost a long time rewards customer. Beware travelers. The hotel is sparkling clean, a very personable desk clerk, but corporate sucks.

The Comfort Inn Marion is an excellent budget hotel. Clean room, comfortable bed, hot water, working HVAC and stable Wi-Fi connection. The only minor issue was that the bath tub didn't drain particularly well, but it was a negligible problem. I'm glad I chose this hotel for my stay.
