Girlfriend trip to primarily ride horses and enjoy this part of the country. Comfortable lodging, more than ample food and a wonderful get away to get to know the countryside and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.

Cataloochee is such a rare and treasured place. This is my second trip there and as usual it was outstanding. The Lodge is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms as nice considering you are in a log cabin built so long ago. The food and staff are both awesome. The true attraction for me to this magical place is the...

Our family is from Florida and we thought it would be nice to take our kids ages 8 and 13 to see snow. We made our reservations online and decided to stay Monday-Thursday. We thought we could save some money by staying here because they advertise meals. They also advertise special accomdations for allergies, so we asked them to make...

We arrIved at the ranch on a Friday night after a brief snowfall the previous day. It was enough snow to give the ranch a shimmering appearance. The evening meal of fried chicken was delicious. There were only a handful of guests which was fine with us as we wanted a quiet weekend. Our accommodations were modest and clean. The...

My wife and I took our first trip this weekend, and it will be the first of many. The staff was excellent. They were not only professional, but very personable and genuine. We stayed in the Bluebird room on the 2nd floor of the main ranch. The room was quaint and perfect for our needs. Larger rooms are available as...

In October 2013, I stayed for three days at the ranch in one of the small historic cabins. My cabin had a cozy fireplace and historic decor, but with modern conveniences of a private bath, tv, and wifi (however, some cell phones don't get good reception there, but I had no problem). The property is beautiful and serene. Although I...

This place is a small slice of heaven. Our family enjoyed hiking, horse back riding, fishing, as well as very good food and entertainment. The cabins are all clean and well appointed especially considering its supposed to be a ranch. This is more than a place to stay, its an experience and one that you will not soon forget. The...

Our family has been to the ranch many times over the past decade. Our recent visit is consistent with past visits. Love the dude ranches out west but with this so close to home and able to drive instead is just wonderful... It is one of the best family vacations you could ever ask for. .Your own cabin out in...

My family stayed at Cataloochie for several days in two cabins. It was an amazing stay with my older parents, wife and two young teenage sons. The entire property is such a peaceful escape. We enjoyed the horseback riding, trout fishing, hiking and of course the food. The service was exceptional. This place has been run by the same family...
