A long weekend was magical at the Lodge on Lake Lure. We received a heads-up call from staff that pending ice storm may make travelling to the Lodge a bit difficult. Arrived a day early and stayed a day late... awesome staff, delicious food, warm fire, not one complaint. Can't wait to return!!! stay in Fortune Cookie or Looking Glass...

Just an absolutely lovely, beautifully fitted out "lodge" with every comfort and luxury imaginable… Snuggly blankets and throws over the sofa and at the foot of the bed; a claw foot tub overlooking the treetops, with candles and fluffy towels; the best "spa" bathrobe ever; a gaslit fireplace to warm the room… Only a few guests in January (the "off...

We had a very relaxing stay at the lodge. Our room was great with views of the lake and also permitted us to travel with our dog. The highlight was sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee and just staring at the Lake on a cool fall afternoon. We visit Bed&Breakfasts and Inns frequently and I have to...

Our Thanksgiving buffet dinner for four adult family members left a lot to be desired when comparing the cost against the quality of food. The new chef attempted to place a few personal creations on the menu but without much success. In spite of a pleasant rural setting and excellent service, the food quality was the only disappointment. A bit...

Had Thanksgiving dinner at the Lodge and it was very disappointing. Had it not been for the lake view, there would have been no ambiance at all. First, there should have been tablecloths on tables, second, the flowers on the small vase on our table were dead, third, there was a lizard on the wall in the dining room. Now,...

The Lodge on Lake Lure has been one of my favorite get away spots for the last four years. My husband and I have managed to get up here at least once a year! My favorite room is the Looking Glass. The made to order breakfast is fabulous. Love the mingling hour it's a great time to meet other guests...

We stayed in Blazing Saddles and it was definitely worth it! The room was "cozy" and felt like home.. which was a plus for us! The master bathroom was huge and offered great views of the lake as well as a superb balcony view from the bedroom. We especially enjoyed sipping hot cocoa every night while watching TV with the...

This was our fourth year staying at the Lodge. View of the lake is beautiful and the staff is accommodating. Arlene the morning cook makes delicious breakfast. I love the cinnamon biscuits she makes. Lisa the waitress is very friendly and helpful. I was a little disappointed in my dinner. The vegetables were dried out and the fish was just...

We stayed in Mellow Yellow for 4 nights while touring the area and looking at potential property purchases. On the positive side the Lodge is beautiful and the staff could not have been friendlier but there are opportunities for improvement. In the room the bed was very comfortable but why would you only have one bedside reading light. The bathroom...

We visit the lodge about twice per year and it never fails to please. It is clean, quiet, and staffed with great folks in the best of surroundings. One can sit on one of the decks and watch lake activity or just read or snooze. Dinner is served Wednesday through Saturday and is quite good. However the selection is extremely...
