Our stay was very disappointing. Though I was forthcoming so my concerns could be resolved, the young person responsible struggled with the ability to negotiate/accommodate. After two weeks of emails I finally was able to get $40 refunded for the breakfast we didn't get. The owner died a month prior and though he was not hands-on with the inn/meals, we...

Management response:

We understand that the nature of a small, independent family-run business in a small town is not the best fit for everyone. We want all of our dear guests to have a great stay at the Inn, and we take criticism seriously. Our Inn operates as a family-oriented business. Our core staff is very committed and has been together for...

As an oyster to a pearl, the valley has delivered a prize. My wife brought me to hot springs to relax and bathe in the magic. Everything in the area was expected, but this surprise. Don't get me wrong, hot springs is great! Everything is built around the warlock stew it: The average breakfast joint that makes up for it...

My husband and I recently stayed for one evening, just a quick getaway in January. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our peace and quiet, relaxing in our room with the gas logs lit and soaking in our open private "hot spring." Seriously the inn must have the water heater temperature set high, you could make your...

Surprised there were still leaves on the trees. Cliffside has 2 rooms and 3 bathrooms. The kitchen had everything you could ever need. The view of the creek from the patio was very relaxing. As always, love the complementary breakfast. Will definitely book this cottage again.

We have stayed here many times in this Peaceful, Comfortable, Clean & Private Cottage on the upper floor. Go to the Inn for a Superb Breakfast which is included in the price of the stay. Fire Pit & Mountain Views are "to die for" on the grounds of the chalet. No Television, Not Needed! Can hear Spring Creek from the...

Hot Springs is a tiny little place hidden in mountains of western North Carolina. Chief claim to fame is that the Appalachian Trail runs right down the main street of town. My point is that this is a pretty strange spot to find a very elegant B&B. An Italinate/Victorian home built in mid 19th century was restored 20 years ago...

The Mountain Magnolia Inn is a welcoming place to stay. We stayed in the Blue Heron Cottage on the French Broad River. The cottage was very clean and comfortable with a nice private deck on the water. The kitchen was well appointed. Even though I only used the coffee maker, I did notice the knives and such were good quality....

I stayed one night in the Octagon House with a friend when picking up my son from the Appalachian trail. The house was clean with 3 private bedrooms and one more public sleeping area. 3 baths too. Large living spaces for hanging out. Nothing luxury--older fixtures, furniture, etc but certainly beats a "cabin" and much cheaper than "the inn". AC...

Thanks for you're nice review. This is the only property we manage for owners in town and it works out great. The property was built in the late 1800's and was the home of the town doctor. It is one of several hundred 8 sided houses built in the U.S. at the turn of the century. The owners are the...

We stayed 2 nights at the Mountain Magnolia Inn while doing some AT hiking near Hot Springs, NC. The hosts were quite gracious even though we arrived during their dinner hour. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and well maintained with several seating areas for contemplation or conversation. The Inn is ideally located a 3-5 minute walk from the downtown...

Elegant, quiet, beautiful setting. The Walnut room was tasteful and overlooked a beautiful portion of America. The staff was so accommodating and yet real people. We loved the Southern breakfast and the real conversations from the staff.
