We visited this charming inn earlier this week for two evenings. Although the weather was rainy and dreary, the inn was a perfect place to relax and recharge. The rooms are immaculate and homey. The owners were anxious to help us navigate the area, even though we were quite familiar with the town and environs. Guest satisfaction is their primary... More

Expectations were exceeded. What a great experience! Very clean and felt like home. Of course the breakfast was to die for! The owners really try hard to make you feel welcome. I will keep coming back.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Colonial Pines Inn. The owners are friendly and helpful with things to do while in Highlands. The room was comfortable and clean. Sitting on the porch was so relaxing. They serve an amazing breakfast.

My wife and I have been traveling to Highlands and staying at the Colonial Pines Inn on and off for the past 15 years. In our opinion, there's just no better place to stay. Chris and Donna Alley have been running this place for 32 years, and they know how to make you feel at home. They are also very... More

This was such a special experience for our extended weekend get away. Donna and Chris are quite welcoming and went out of their way to make our visit most comfortable. The Inn is spotless and the food outshines any 5 star restaurant. They helped us with numerous recommendations of things to do and directions to many of the near by... More

We recent spent the weekend at the Colonial Pines for our 36th wedding anniversary. Donna and Chris are wonderful innkeepers. Great casual atmosphere. We stayed in the queen suite which was wonderful. We had a bedroom, sitting room, large walk thru closet and 2 baths which was so convenient with 2 of us getting ready for the day and evening.... This is our second time at the Colonial Pines Inn. Donna is a gracious hostess and excellent cook. We love spending time out in the wrap-around porch reading and watching the birds. Stayed 5 nights in the "Bargain Basement" room, which is in a separate building from the main house. Although the bathroom is small (tight shower, generally small space),... More

We felt like we were among friends. Lots of photos ops. Ten degrees cooler than home, so take a jacket even if it's hot in the city. Fresh baked goods and treats every day. Quiet and peaceful. We'll definitely go back.

Had a great, comfortable room with a terrific bed and bath. Nice guests, mostly "alumni" from previous visits. Donna and Chris keep it spotless, and the atmosphere is always relaxing. Donna's cooking is unbeatable and they have great suggestions for seeing the mountain at its best. There's nothing quite like that big front porch with a cool breeze. I give... More
