After some initial confusion about my Service dog and the distinctions between an ESA and a service animal they got me set up in a lovely room and provided me with a list of local resources despite my somewhat poor initial attitude. I had been having a very rough week due to my equipment being broken down and being stranded in hickory while it is in the shop. When initially confronted about my service animal I had a bit of an attitude and handled myself poorly. Fortunately after discussing everything with the man and woman behind the counter the misunderstanding was cleared up.

Despite my poor initial attitude the woman at the front desk was exceptionally polite and professional. She provided water for my animal as well as a list of local restaurants and a reliable cab service. The room is also quite nice for the cost and overall I am exceptionally pleased with both the service and the facilities.

As always a great stay! I have spent over a dozen nights at this location over the past couple of years and I'm never disappointed. Friendly and 'on the ball' staff, clean rooms, quiet area. I always take a
king room/suite along the back of the large complex, across from cracker barrel. They've always been able to put me in the area of choice. Always beyond helpful!! See you again very soon.

The only thing that needs to be done here is to clean up the grounds. For me thanks s not a bit g deal. But my Mom? My family in general? Would have driven on by. Put just a little money in your pool and grounds? That should do it. For me? Keep it the same. My little secret!

**Breakfast was a really good option pre-pandemic. It had not restarterd as of fall 2020

The staff were nice and the room had newer carpet. The room was fine, but dated and is in need of TLC. The overall feel was a little sketchy. I would not feel safe staying here alone as a female.I don not know how this hotel is a conference center as it does not appear to attract businesses, etc. There was blood on one of the exterior doors the whold stay that was not cleaned off. The breakfast was fine, but the second day, it was not being attended to and was empty. I don't think I would stay here again.

I stayed a night, right away I noticed things were a bit off. There were people hanging in the parking lot that looked like they had no place to go / transients. SOme of the people in and out of the lobby and on the hotel grounds looked so out of it unkept I thought they might be sheltering there. The housekeeper I saw was in cleaning rooms without a mask and the people checking in and out didnt bother to wear one either.
The room itself was big but beat up and seen better days.
If there was a convention center I didnt know where it was, this was basically near the highway with standard chain places and some other hotels. Not the best of areas. I heard a lot of thumping bass from car stereos at night, maybe there was a bit of a block party going on as there were people hanging out side.

We tried to stay at this hotel for a week while attending a school function with our children. Upon check in the room was not cleaned well and stinky. By the looks of the place, and the price we figured this is what you get. I bought some air freshener and had my kids wear their shoes on the carpet, or else it turned their feet black. I wiped down what I could with disinfecting wipes. We stayed away from the walls with obvious debris on them. The ceiling and part of a wall had a splatter on it that we debated was either blood or bbq sauce. It was a struggle overlooking the super worn and peeling toilet seat and the mold stains under the sink but still doable, until I awoke to roaches on the wall! I immediately went to the front desk and let them know. They said ok and allowed me to check out. We moved to a much nicer holiday inn. The staff at quality suites didn't seem to care much that their hotel has roaches. I wasn't offered anything for this disgusting inconvenience. I was still charged all the fees. Don't be fooled by other reviews. This place is a dump. Breakfast is a basket of expired muffins. I'm just hoping my kids don't get sick.

My wife and I were on a furniture hunting trip to the Hickory Furniture Mart, and this Property seemed nice and quite close to the Mart. Pictures looked nice, and it seemed a good choice.
It was a lousy choice.
To begin with, there is no mention anywhere on their website that there is NO ELEVATOR, so guests must muscle their luggage up metal stairs to the second floor. If handicapped, only ground level rooms will do.
Unlike most hotels, access from the outside requires a key card to unlock an outer door. Not here. These stairwell access doors not only don't have locks, they are left propped open, allowing anyone to come in off the street whether they are guests or not.In fact, we found two people who clearly weren't guests squatting by an ice machine at the foot of the stairs charging a cellphone.
When we got up to the second floor landing, (again, NO elevator) we were shocked to find the clearly marked fire doors on both the left and right had been propped open. Someone had jammed a ball point pen into a hole in the floor to keep the doors open. Housekeeping, to make it easier to move their carts down the hall?
We left for a while, but when we came back, they were still propped open, so I closed them. We went out to dinner, and when we came back, they are propped open again.
The room was adequate enough for the price, but the experience with the lack of security, the disregard for fire codes, and the really rundown nature of the place means we will NEVER use this hotel again, ever.
We have stayed in hotels all across America and Europe. Some are better than others, but you at least can reasonably expect basic security and safety.
Not here.

We were disappointed in our stay. The room was tired and the bathroom was very small and in need on maintenance - walk were chipped and door jambs rusty. There was an oversized jet tub that used up most of the space and was difficult for a senior to get in and out off. The price at 89.00 plus tax was not worth it.

The room and halls were rank with stale cigarette odor. There was mold around the bathtub, cracked plaster on the walls, and the room was dirty. My husband went to the car after dark and was approached by a man looking for money. Don’t stay here!

Dear all,
This is a comfy place to stay, big rooms, comfy high beds, nice surroundings close to a couple of restaurants and a sports bar which is part of a country wide chain.
Staff friendly and a decent hot breakfast for free!
Good local amenities and some interesting restaurants within walking distance. Lots of good shops local plus the ubiquitous Walmat

The room was updated and nice, but the hotel itself needs updating. Hot water was an issue for some reason and the sink had no stopper. Never did get the TV to work. Guess I'm not savvy enough for hi-tech. Breakfast wasn't bad. We would stay here again if in the area. David at the front desk was very nice, courteous, friendly and helpful.
