We were in the garden fireplace room. It is considered part of the lodge but as a separate building. It did have a fireplace but it needed firewood. You could get one bundle from the desk otherwise it needs to be bought from the general store. The general store closes at five. Eq

I enjoyed our 2-bedroom cabin at Fontana Village. The furniture was a little dated, and the sleeper sofa was quite uncomfortable, but otherwise we were satisfied with the layout and furnishings. The area was experiencing unusually cold temperatures, but the cabin stayed warm an

We loved our stay at Fontana Village for Thanksgiving. Only downside was not having a land-line phone in our cabin since we had no cell connection on the mountain. Grounds and cabins were well maintained, food at the lodge was very good, activities were fun (hayride, s'mores ar

What is the closest store for groceries and is it open the week of Christmas? Are all the sports areas open in December?
We do have a general store and also a convenience store at the resort. The general store does close after Thanksgiving but the pitstop, which is the convenience store, and the marina both stay open year around. The sports areas stay open year around except for the pool.

Are the restaurants open during the winter? Looking at Christmas time. What is there to do during December? Is there an indoor pool thats heated?
Unfortunately there is not a indoor pool. Our pool is open from memorial day to labor day. We have beautiful decorations during December and our restaurant in the lodge is open year around.
