Every night you fall asleep with the sounds of the rapids of the river flowing just feet away. Not many tent sites (mostly older people who seasonally camp in their big campers). Everyone is nice and waves. Bath houses are exactly how you would imagine them...average and gross, but you're camping; get over yourself. The cute town with shops is...

I have visited this place over 15 years ago, I remembered how quiet & secluded this natural rustic camp ground felt. Well is still felt the same way!!! We had no service so that was a blessing. Place can use some upkeep mostly in the bathrooms. But it's all about Location,Location,Location..... We bought good double lining tubes with handles (...

It's OK for a quick overnight stay but for a week no. They need to clear bushes and weeds off rocks going into river full of poison oak. Lots are really muddy when it rains, need to put some gravel on lots. We used the washers an dryers while there someone had left their clothes in dryer so I went to...

This is definitely a family campground! Our kids were able to walk down to the office area and play basketball, visit the arcade area and simply walk through nature at thier leisure! The bath houses could use a little TLC and some AC.. it was pointless to shower only to sweat to death afterwards because the bath house was so...

We booked this campsite for the Memorial Day holiday. The site is ten minutes walking distance to Chimney Rock Village - but not the park itself (I recommend you drive the three miles uphill). Our site had a great view of the surrounding mountains, and included access to wifi, along with a water spigot and electrical outlet. For the money...

Great Experience! We got a camp site on the river with power hookup and it was perfect! We lived in Boone for 5 years and did quite a bit of camping around that area, being on the river was exactly what we wanted. The sound of the water flowing and having a camp fire was key because it was a...

This is the campground I’ve been searching for! I have been dying for some good river camping. This wasn’t one of those “trickling” kind of rivers. This was one of those full flowing with little waterfalls here and there kind of rivers. It was so soothing to fall asleep to the sound of the rushing water. Camping in October offered...

We tent camped on site number four along the river. Great spot with a covered shelter. Running water with kitchen cabinets and sink under the shelter. Sort of like a gazebo overlooking the river. Friendly staff. Great price. Overall great experience.

We have taken all of our children and grandchildren here in just a few month period. We have always been taken care of very well. There are many permanent campsites, however, they save the best for daily/weekly campers. There is plenty to do in the area for kids of all ages, including the beach at Lake Lure, which is only...

My family (kids aged 5,7,&13) just stayed two nights at this campground with a pop up and had a good experience. Our original campsite was number 65 on the river. When we arrived and got there I was nervous because it was about 20 feet above the river over big rocks and we have a very energetic and reckless 5...
