We stayed at the Dunhill with friends over the new year holiday for 2 nights. The hotel is gorgeous and was decorated beautifully. So much so that people walked in just to see it that weren't even guests! The location was perfect, too. The guest room was very pretty and our bed was extremely comfortable. The shower and bathroom were...

We hosted a "Baby Shower" at The Dunhill for our niece this weekend. Several guests including myself flew in for the happy occasion and I want you to know... from check-in to checking out -- these folks kept the "Southern" spirit alive and never missed a beat. We had 34 guests at the "Tea at 2" shower and their staff...

I really enjoyed my stay at this property. The hotel has a historic look but the furnishings/decor are in good condition. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The surrounding area (uptown) is modern and clean. The bed was comfortable. Shower pressure was good. I was skeptical about staying here at first because I tend to like very modern properties....

We stayed at the Dunhill for 2 nights and had a lovely experience. I had never stayed "Uptown" Charlotte before and wanted to get a feel for that area. The hotel is a small boutique hotel, very historic and tucked among the skyscrapers that surround it. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and made you feel quite at home....

Popped in for an after dinner cocktail. Bartender made me an awesome rendition of an Old Fashioned but with Dark Rum instead of Rye. He took very good care of us! There is a retaurant attached to the lobby, will give that a try next time, but it was nice to hang out in comfy chairs near the bar.

I dance professionally and had to do a job in Charlotte. The hotel is downtown so it is close to a lot of food.Once we got there the staff was very friendly. The room was pretty small and it was supposed to have double bed but it ended up just having a pull out couch. Due to the fact that...

We just got back from a two night stay at the Dunhill, and cannot say enough about it. The staff were excellent, right down to the maids! We came in on the train and were picked up at the station. Any place we needed to go, the took us. The breakfast was European style and wonderful. Looking forward to another...

This historic hotel is a hidden gem. The location is perfect to shops, night life and activities. The Ashbury restaurant is stellar. Try the pimento burger. Rooms are nicely appointed and service is spot on.

I surprised my husband by booking us for two nights at the Dunhill for Christmas. While we thoroughly enjoyed spending Christmas in uptown Charlotte, the hotel was somewhat of a disappointment. Maybe with limited staff during the holidays, we should have booked at a different time. When we returned from dinner and a Christmas Eve church service (around 9 pm),...

Dear Car0linaTravelers, We're sorry that not having the self-serve tea and coffee bar in the lobby after 8:00 PM negatively impacted your experience. Though we remove the coffee and hot water carafes at night, we are a full service property and our 24-hour concierge would have been happy to accommodate your request if we had been made aware of it....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Decades before The Dunhill Hotel would open, local architect Louis Asbury Sr. was entranced by the great Italian craftsmen who created cathedrals famous for their soaring, elegant roof lines. Today, The Dunhill Hotel stands distinct on the Charlotte skyline, an amalgam of American, British, and Italian influences, something those with an eye for period detail can detect. Opened in 1929 as the Mayfair Manor apartment hotel, with half of its original 100 rooms permanent residences, today's Dunhill Hotel is a thoughtful evolution. A full restoration was recently completed, and various on-going aesthetic improvements all share a common goal--to celebrate the original vision of Mr. Asbury, with a nod to the needs of the modern traveler. ... more   less
