My wife and I recently stayed at the Dunhill. This was our second visit to the hotel. On both occasions, I had been in the area for business and finished the week at the Dunhill. The staff is always top rate. Mike and Eunna in the Lobby Bar, Thanks for the skill and friendliness that you used when taking care...

I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. It is in downtown Charlotte and near everything and easy to walk around the city center. The staff were welcoming and efficient with many checking in for a wedding on a Friday night. I would not recommended it for those in wheelchairs although it is accessible some of the areas are very...

Great option for New Year's Eve. Great location. We were able to walk to everything. We walked to Bearden Park to watch the fireworks. Great local restaurant options. Mellow Mushroom..... Will definitely stay again. My room service order was great... the first time it was wrong, but they immediately corrected my order and adjusted my bill. Be aware, the rooms...

I had a day of delayed flights and was exhausted. I walked in the door and immediately was greeted with friendly smiles and a warm welcome on a cold, nasty weather day. The charm of the entrance and the staff was nothing compared to my room. Such a pleasant surprise when I walked in to the room and found the...

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at the Dunhill in downtown Charlotte. It has an elegant charm and character with antique furnishings. Great place for a romantic stay and there are excellent restaurants in close walking distance. If you are like me and enjoy a change from the typical "cut & paste" look and feel of corporate propagation...

I really wanted to love this hotel. A past resident of Charlotte, I have always wanted to stay here. Check in was very nice, quick, and easy plus it was complimentary wine Wednesday! We went out to dinner, looking forward to that piece of Ghirardelli chocolate from the turn down service for dessert. Wrong! No turndown- no chocolate! I did...

Dear Gigi312, I'm glad that you were able to enjoy many of our amenities. Turndown provides service throughout the evening, staggering delivery of amenities. While you were provided with complimentary water service, it sounds like there was a disconnect with the second phase of turndown when the chocolates are provided. I hate that you missed them! The unseasonably warm weather...

Had a lot to offer for the price - especially free breakfast (including hot items). Very clean, relaxing and accommodating. Could have used a few USB ports for charging purposes. Nice bar/lounge area. Nice restaurant - offering different cuisine. Stayed for two nights to explore Charlotte after a business trip. I'd go back. Charlotte downtown could use some retail outlets....

Just a quick trip over Christmas, but it was a great place to spend Christmas Eve. From our initial greeting to checkout we were impressed with the consistent, friendly service. Room was elegant and a very nice change from the chain hotels. Definitely worth a visit.

To start, valet was hard to find. (Go down 6th St for valet). The hotel was very nice. From the time we (finally) arrived, everyone was wonderful. We valet, and once we got upstairs to check in the front desk people super nice. I then realized I left my phone in my car. As I turned around to go get...

I normally stay at The OMNI in Charlotte but couldn't get in and ended up staying at The Dunhill. This was a truly pleasant experience. The hotel had a 4-poster bed and very comfortable room. Breakfast was included and not just the average continental breakfast. Checking was easy and friendly. Love the historic and home feel of the hotel.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Decades before The Dunhill Hotel would open, local architect Louis Asbury Sr. was entranced by the great Italian craftsmen who created cathedrals famous for their soaring, elegant roof lines. Today, The Dunhill Hotel stands distinct on the Charlotte skyline, an amalgam of American, British, and Italian influences, something those with an eye for period detail can detect. Opened in 1929 as the Mayfair Manor apartment hotel, with half of its original 100 rooms permanent residences, today's Dunhill Hotel is a thoughtful evolution. A full restoration was recently completed, and various on-going aesthetic improvements all share a common goal--to celebrate the original vision of Mr. Asbury, with a nod to the needs of the modern traveler. ... more   less
