My hiking crew LOVED this historic Bed & Brekfast right on the main road in Bryson City. The in keeper Luke is delightful and we enjoyed hearing the history of the Hotel as well as his knowledge of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Nice neat rooms and a wonderful breakfast too.

I visited the Calhoun right after Christmas with my grandaughter. Our host Luke, was cordial, engaging, and an excellent source of information. We stayed 3 nights and except for 1 night had the run of the place to ourselves. We didn't get to enjoy the breakfast because the cook was out sick, but Luke gave us a discount to eat...

We liked this old hotel/B&B. The gentleman running the show, Luke, is very cordial and tremendously knowledgeable about the area's history. (In fact, he is very involved in preserving it.) The rooms are comfortable. The bathrooms are a bit snug. The breakfast was very good. First arriving and seeing the long-ago started, but never finished addition in the back gave...

The Hydes, who made the Historic Calhoun House their project several years back, have the perfect spot to stay in this charming western North Carolina mountain town. It's a quaint bed-and-breakfast with a wide variety of rooms, plenty to look at, a superb breakfast and great hosts. Mr. and Mrs. Hyde and Miz Sue were all wonderful and as helpful...

My husband and I came up to take the GSMR train ride. We decided to stay the night. Luke was very accommodating. This B&B is a great value. Great breakfast! Just what we needed. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Bryson City again.

This charming bed and breakfast dates from the early 20th century. Innkeeper Luke Hyde, who grew up in this far western tip of North Carolina, has spent decades restoring and refurnishing this large inn in the heart of Bryson City (which is really a tiny courthouse village, not a city!) Built as a boarding house, the Calhoun Hotel was for...

My son and I stay here every time we visit BC. We have been a guest there for the past 4 years. Mr. and Mrs. Hyde have become great friends over the years and welcome us like family. It is right downtown and close to everything. Great rocking chairs! Mrs. Hyde always cooks my son "mountain pancakes" and we even...

I love this place! It is so peaceful and relaxing and the service from the inn keeper was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect for the train ride and it was great being able to walk everywhere. I can't say enough about how much I love it. My 8 yr old said this trip was "the best ever."

Wonderful historic B&B. It's in the perfect location if your in town to ride the train. You can drop your luggage and walk to the depot just minutes away. This is a children friendly B&B, everyone in our group felt comfortable and welcome. They asked in advance if there where any special diets, if the kids would prefer pancakes. The...

My family and I stayed the night and LOVED every moment of it. My children ages 11 and 14 enjoyed it very much! Luke takes the time to sit down and chat and share the history of the Calhoun house and the Calhoun family. The house itself is just charming, and we especially loved sitting on the porch and people...
