We recently took our fourth trip up to NC to snowboard (end of season) and Smoketree Lodge was the most reasonably priced option. So much bang for your buck here! It is a little bit dated, with a true lodge feel, and an actual key for your room--no plastic! But the place was clean, the staff was efficient, and there...

I had some extra vacation to burn at the last minute and decided to stay here based on the location. I used my RCI membership to book a week at a very reasonable price. Check in was quick. I decided to upgrade from a studio apartment to a one-bedroom. During my stay (the week preceding Christmas), the resort had no...

Rooms were small. Carpet, cabinets, countertops were clean, but old and worn. However, staff was very friendly, and the location is great. Close to wineries, hiking, caverns, golf, etc... I will most likely stay here again next summer, but if you like four star/gold crown places, you may want to skip this one.

We have owned at this location for a very long time. Its not the nicest timeshare, but its enough for our needs. Its clean, convenient to many of the mountain areas, has a great indoor pool and a nice lodge area. The decor is a bit dated but some of the outdated things seem to be in the process of...

I didn't expect much of Smoketree Lodge, and it gave me exactly what I expected. This is a past-its-prime '70's era lodge with grubby edges that seems to be barely squeaking by. My room was shabby around the edges (peeling wallpaper, discolored tub, wire hangers) and outdated, but satisfactorily clean. The entire lodge felt like it desperately needed new carpeting...

Our studio room was very disappointing because it was soooo small and the bed was uncomfortable. The indoor hot tub and pool area were enjoyable. Be sure to drive your car down to that level as there are way too many stairs to get there and then climb back up. Great view of Grandfather Mountain from the pool area. Internet/wifi...

We stayed here as part of a timeshare exchange and is without a doubt the worst exchange we have ever had in the US. The whole place is very dated and is in need of updating and decorating. The kitchen units would have looked old even in the 1960's. The air conditioning units are so noisy you could never sleep...

Nothing special , but the views are nice and the price was fair. Its one of those places that beats the chains for the price and you do not have to deal with a lot of red tape. I would stay here more often than other places because it is near a lot of area attraction you can enjoy and...

Smells like smoke, damp carpets, old outdated rooms, juts shabby and badly maintained. The best thing I can say is it is cheap. They have no non smoking rooms. They have a great room, lodge area with several old video games, mostly broken. There are board games and books, so it is probably the best place to curl up. Also...
