James and Ev Davis are THE most interesting couple you could even want as a friend and host for your weekend or time away. I've known about the Hawk and Ivy B&B for over 10 years now, and when all the other B&B's in that area have come and gone, the Davis's are still going strong. They have a wonderfully...

Spent two evenings in this wonderful B&B in the upstairs room. James and Eve are incredibly warm and hospitable. They gave us wonderful advice and recommendations and knew the area well. Breakfasts were healthy (organic) and yummy. Loved that they could also accommodate my gluten free husband. More importantly, we will always remember the interesting conversation around the table. The...

James and Eve recently hosted our wedding and it was amazing. You can definitely tell they have years of experience under their belts. James was such a warm and grounding soul while planning our ceremony and then throughout the wedding weekend. Eve was my florist but also acted as my wedding planner. She helped me decide what was necessary and...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hawk and Ivy. The Innkeepers were incredibly helpful in assisting us with directions, suggestions for places to stop along the way, restaurant recommendations, and hiking ideas. The inn itself is beautiful! We stayed in the main house in a quiet little room with a well stocked bathroom. The grounds are really impressive. There...

My fiancé and I stayed in the upstairs of the cottage house and we were so pleased with the coziness of the space. It was perfect for our little weekend getaway and the flowers by the bedside freshly cut from the garden gave it the sweetest touch. The view from the porch was beautiful. We went in late August so...

Hawk and Ivy is simply the perfect place to "get away from it all." It's been 10 days since my wife and I were there and we are both still feeling the relaxing and restorative effects of our visit. We stayed in the downstairs of the cottage which was immediately cozy. With it being summer we didn't stay indoors for...

Superb house, cottage and gardens. The "barn" is the perfect setting for a rustic wedding or event. It's a bit of a haul up to the meadow for weddings, but well worth a few stops along the way to catch your breath and be inspired by the natural beauty you'll only find this deep in the blue ridge mountains. I...

We cannot rave enough about the beautiful setting, the accommodations, and the great breakfasts at Hawk and Ivy!! James and Eve have created the most lovely Bed & Breakfast I have ever experienced! The gardens are full of old treasured plantings where fruits and flowers abound. These fruits and flowers find their way into the amazing breakfasts that greet you...

We have never stayed anywhere where we felt more at home than at the Hawk & Ivy. The fanciest hotel couldn't have been more accommodating. The accommodations were extremely comfortable, the breakfasts totally amazing and unlike anything we have ever eaten, all organic and very flavorful. The grounds were so beautiful and peaceful and the people who run it were...

The Hawk&Ivy is situated in a stunning valley. Surrounding the B&B, breathtaking gardens evoke a botanical wonderland. A short stroll from the B&B, a beautiful barn overlooks rolling hills and a mountain vista. The food was delicious and served in the cozy company of other guests and the gracious hosts. I can't wait to go back to take in the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to the Hawk and Ivy. Come immerse yourself in a place of great beauty that nurtures both body and spirit. We are Asheville’s oldest eco bed and breakfast with a deep commitment to offering an experience that is green, sustainable, and honors the sacredness of all life. Our 1910 Farmhouse and guest cottage are filled with treasured family antiques, fine paintings and crafts. Lovely all cotton linens and down comforters cover the beds. Eve fills the rooms with fresh flowers and plants to create a feeling of simple elegance and comfort. A stroll on our 24 acres reveals wildflower meadows, mountain views, a pond with gazebo, and our magical, renovated barn, a perfect place for weddings, large events, or just a quiet cup of coffee watching for wild turkeys or deer in the meadow. The heart of the bed and breakfast is our organic gardens, nurturing both the body and soul with fresh flowers, herbs, vegetables, and delicious berries. Our guests rave about their healthy gourmet breakfasts where those berries and vegetables are served with local eggs and home cooked muffins. Eve is a life long gardener and highly published garden and floral designer. For the last two years she has been the chairman of Slow Food Asheville. We proudly take responsibility for being a Slow Food Bed and Breakfast, serving food which is locally grown and in season. We offer a perfect balance for those who wish to retreat in a rural setting and yet enjoy easy access to the restaurants and cultural offering of Asheville. We are so close to Asheville (20 minutes) and yet a world apart. ... more   less
