This was our favorite place to stay on our 21-day trip to North Island. The grounds and orchard are gorgeous! The cottage (we stayed at the Fig Tree Cottage) was charming and had everything we needed. The pictures don't do it justice. We had a lot of fun getting to know Rusty and visited the pigs in the nearby pen....

Two days of bad weather in an oasis of green and peace and kindness.. we spent nearly all our Coromandel-time in the cottage ... and we loved it. Diana and Roger are great and helpful hosts and the breakfast one of the best we had, with fresh baked bread and eggs and cereales and tomatoes and prunes from the orchard......

We had the unit that is separate from the house and between garage and tool shed of this working, organic orchard. Really lovely to be self-contained and to prepare our own breakfast with the delicious hamper that Diane offered. Lovely to see a family of quail enjoying breakfast with us in the orchard. Plum trees were laden and Diane and...

Accompanied by our daughter just over from Sydney for the Easter break, we spent three wonderful days at the Orchard. The apartment was comfortable, well situated, and contained everything we needed - apart from a bread knife (we like whole loaf bread!) Beds comfortable shower just right! surrounded by fruit trees and hosted by two lovely people and their 3...

Wonderful, laid back surrounding within an orchard. At night you could have heard a pin drop it was so peaceful. Diana and Roger are very friendly hosts and their little boy would visit each day along with Rusty the dog, making it a lovely friendly place to stay. There are two completely separate units and our unit had an outdoor...

Paua Bach and Fig Tree Cottage are nestled amongst 5 acres of peaceful country gardens and orchard. Two self-contained garden cottages, country-style luxury with French doors opening out into the orchard, crisp cotton bed linen, fresh fruit, flowers and candles. Special to Paua Bach is an old fashioned outdoor bath. Watch the variety of our birdlife, smell the blossoms and flowers, listen to the wind in the old trees and explore the hidden places. Quiet and relaxing, perfect for that special anniversary or as a restful time away. The area is well known for crafts and gardens. Local activities include swimming, diving, bush walking, tramping, horse riding, fishing, kayaking, scenic boat cruises and golf. Cathedral Cove, Cooks and Hot Water Beaches are 7-8 min. drive. There are several good cafés and restaurants close by, alternatively BBQ your evening meal Kiwi style. Meet our friendly dog, kune kune pigs and chickens. ... more   less

“We stayed in the Fig Cottage, which had a separate bedroom to the living area. The other cottage looked like it was a studio, which also has a cute outdoor bath with hot and cold taps. As no one was staying there, we were able to give our 2 year old an outdoor bath one evening!”
