Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spent a very pleasant evening in the Beer garden watching Kookaburras watching us, and people gazing. However, the food, whilst tasty was so over-priced. Had the pasta seafood, with four mussels, two prawns and a few small pieces of fish - $41!! This is what happens when there's no competition.

We ate at the restaurant most nights and enjoyed the meals we had. The menu catered for most tastes. The staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel had great ambiance and had live music. Great country atmosphere which we really enjoyed. The gardens were lovely.

We had a four night stay in a very well appointed and spotlessly clean apartment. The appliances seemed almost brand new and an impressive 55 inch TV in the lounge. The location is good for local touring. We requested and recieved an upper floor room. However there are drawbacks. The owners would do well to decide if their priority is a pub or hotel. We just felt our apartment was tagged on to a very successful pub and then felt further distanced by the fact that some apartments are branded and run as Seashells. We booked direct with the hotel and it seems they own some of the apartments. So you don't know who is responsible for servicing your apartment, but this didn't matter as unless you stay for greater than six nights you do not get serviced - even if requested. So you find yourself searching around for the Caves not Seashells cleaners to obtain some fresh towels. How can you be expected to stay for 4 - 5 nights without a toilet clean, change of towels and bedding? The small tubes of shampoo and conditioner only last two days. As an international traveller I find this incongruous for this category of hotel. I stand corrected if this is an Australian norm, but this is new for us. It's nice to have the pub within walking distance but be mindful that most beers cost$15/pint. The pub can be noisy particularly at weekends. The gardens are beautiful but in the evening dog owners using the pub take over despite the no dogs message that we saw in the room. Food in the restaurant is good but let down by basic service. Breakfast is adequate and the same every day. For your breakfast beverage there is a hot water and a coffee urn, the type that makes airline coffee seem good, then you look across and see the exotic cappuccino machine to be told 'you have to pay extra for that'. And that sums up this hotel. It could and should be so much better.

Hi Sparkyfletch, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are very happy to hear that you found your room well appointed and to your liking. We are a Hotel, Bar & Restaurant venue which prides itself on offering free live music 7 days a week! Sometimes we can get busy on weekends, but we feel that this adds to our Yallingup vibe and overall Hotel experience. It is something that sets us apart as a a destination venue for your down south escape. For future reference, if you have booked a Seashells Apartment please see the Seashells Reception for any enquiries in their rooms. However, if you have booked with Caves House, please visit the Caves House Hotel Reception (where you checked in/out). Our wonderful staff are more than happy to accommodate room services, amenities top ups and fresh towels upon request. We are two separate entities and operate as such. Our Buffet Breakfast is complimentary to all Hotel Guest's which includes a basic selection of teas, coffees and juices. The purchase of a barista-made coffee does come at an additional cost, but we think this is very reasonable given the fully inclusive all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. We hope to welcome you back to our beloved Hotel and serve you better in future. Best wishes, Meg Caves House

The location of this hotel is lovely and surrounded by botanical gardens and stunning scenery! Fairy lights and beautiful music playing live from a pianist! It's close to the beach and has a lovely pub down stairs! The building itself is heritage listed and very charming! Beautiful historic photos and very clean! It is very affordable and the breakfast was delicious and included in the Tarif The only downsides are no aircon in my room in peak summer but does have a ceiling fan! Still felt rather warm! No room service for food but the pub serves food downstairs! Had a lovely stay!

We stayed in an apoartment at the hotel. We found reception inside the hotel, had a very friendly check in. All staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment was really comfortable, with all the things you'd need. Each morning we had breakfast in the hotel and we ended up eating at the pub each night too as it was super easy. It's a short 7min walk to a beautiful beach. This was a great base for exploring the Margaret River Region.

My Daughter had her wedding reception in the Injidup room last month it was great Elle was fantastic even with 2 other weddings on the day she couldn't do more for us the entrees were pre-ordered and served exactly when we wanted them the mains were all brought out very efficiently for 40 guests the food could not be faulted absolutely delicious and really big serves no one could eat dinner after that, everything was set up beautifully and Elle kept a good eye on us all afternoon we partied on through to the night and most of us had breakfast there the next morning which was a really good selection buffet, one small complaint was that it was a really hot day and there is no air conditioning or even a fan would have been sufficient, overall a wonderful weekend was had by everyone thank you Elle and Caves House.

What an amazing place to stay. Caves House oozes ambience and charm. From the heritage of the building to their manicured terraced grounds. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Our accommodation was perfect with everything you would need. It was self sufficient and had all the comforts of home. Our stay included breakfast and it was magnificent. A full breakfast was included in the price of our stay. We had rabbits and 28s (parrots) visiting our apartment. Definitely take the path from Caves House that leads directly to Yallingup Beach. Its definitely in our plans for a return visit.

We stayed in a top floor apartment with lovely views over the heritage listed gardens and Naturaliste National Park. The apartments were built in 2008 and are comfortable, clean, spacious and inviting. The outdoor balconies were perfect for relaxing morning or evening as they were facing north more or less. A generous breakfast was included in our deal. I was impressed by the quality gluten free bread provided and a nice range of herbal teas. The coffee wasn't bad either. Caves House oozes charm and old-world ambience with a number of attractive dining and drinking areas. We enjoyed one dinner there as well with both meals being full of flavour and interest. The wines were well-priced. Service seemed a little stretched in the evening though it was a Monday, but all the staff we encountered over the 2 days were pleasant and friendly. Definitely would stay again.
