We planned our 40th Wedding Anniversary with a four night stay. We were very warmly welcomed by our host Maria, who was outstanding. She made our stay so welcoming.
Xavier gave us a private musical experience with his extremely gifted talents playing his fiddle. Wow and together with the valley setting, was truly magical.
The Chalet was spotlessly clean and tidy and an added bonus for us were the freshly picked flowers on the dinning table.
The adaceb=nt bush walks through their forrest was a real treat for us.
This will be a lasting memory to us and we whole heartedly thank Maria, Jim, Xavier and Benedict, fo their warm hospitality.
A truly beautiful place.
Thank you
Dave & Tania

If you feel like you need to unwind and take a mini escape from reality, this is the perfect place! Cozy chalets in the middle of paddocks filled with kangaroos and kookaburras, along with a wood fire to keep you toasty warm and comfortable. There are some nice walks around the resort, as well as the treetop walk not far down the road. We felt so relaxed and at home throughout our stay, and would definitely visit again!

We stayed in Cottage no 4. It was very well appointed with excellent quality facilities. It was a wonderful peaceful location ideal for families or couples. The owners were very pleasant and keen to help with anything we asked for. We will definitively be returning and recommending the property to friends and family.

About Property: No Doubt property has amazing location , you actually wouldn't want to leave the property and feel so relaxed. Nice Living area with Fire Place and well equipped and clean kitchen and utensils. Nice and Cosy rooms. Wi-Fi reception only in the Patio area, not in the room.
About Owners: Owner Husband did behave Indecently. We checked in at 8 pm and next day check out was 10 am , in the morning around 8, I asked the owner (Wife) if we could extend until 11 am , which she happily agreed, mentioning we don't have any other guest coming over in that chalet. We left for walking Trail inside their property following their Map in search of OLD MILL, which was nothing but some logs of wood, felt bit misguiding.
We were almost getting ready around 11 (Just my shower left). Owners Husband parked his cleaning car next to our chalet and we let him know that it will take some more time and said Sorry. They walked away. When we were about to leave, suddenly owners Husband just barged in angrily, shouting on us, stomping inside the property and calling us "stupid people", he was charged up in hyper and said someone is waiting in the office to Check-In (which we later checked, there was not a single person or car waiting near the Office, which means he Lied). We were literally scared as if he would hit us. In this all, he went inside the bedroom without even asking us, where my female friend was getting ready. He didn't have courtesy, he just walked in to the room, ruining our privacy. Imagine if someone barge into your bedroom without asking. We did apologize, we were really sorry. but it wasn't of any use , as he was least interested.
We know its our fault, we were not ready on time, But you cannot barge into the property when the guests are still In there. Common Sense...
AMAZING PROPERTY, 5 star but just for ruining at the end, I'm giving them 3 stars.

The Walpole Wilderness Resort was a nearly perfect place for my family of 6. The chalet was clean and tidy. The kids were thrilled that it came equipped with a few card games and outdoor games. It was stocked daily with plenty of firewood and wildlife were about nearly all day. One morning I took the baby on the veranda for her morning milk and a small Kangaroo head popped up to greet us on the other side of the slats-she and I were thrilled with the morning greeting!
Only drawbacks (in chalet #3 where we stayed) the dryer was not functional and I only learned of this on a very rainy day after I did a load of muddy wet clothing and then had no means to dry (talk about stinky!) I reported to the office and while Rhonda was sympathetic, it seemed they would not be fixing nor replacing it at any time. (so if you intend on going during rainy season, do not stay in #3!) Also in #3 were lack of pans for using in the oven and oven mitts.
This also being a self catering accommodation you will need everything- bring a flashlight (torch) lighter (for gas stove and firebox), dish washing soap, dish sponge, dish towel and laundry soap. (coffee, tea bags and sugar singlets were provided, but nearly expired-I'd advise to bring ones own!) Trash bags, bed linens, towels and small hotel soaps and shampoo were provided for us. The management was kind enough to set up a port-a-cot for our baby free of charge. (appeared clean and safe. We also were glad to have brought a small fan heater to keep baby warm, as it does get COLD at night, well at least in September when we were there...) The beds had warmers on them for those cold evenings (luxury!). While the resort is a little out of the way of the "main attractions" it was well worth the drive (15 min to Walpole) and I would certainly recommend it to anyone seeking a clean, peaceful accommodation! (and the price is excellent!)

We stayed here for four nights. We thought our chalet was well designed, and finished to a good standard. It was cold when we were there, and you had to sit near very the wood stove to feel the benefit. We were glad of the electric blankets! We imagine most people (especially families with children) will love the setting, with kangaroos on the paddock outside the chalets. But naturalists should not make the mistake we did, of thinking that the property is set in pristine wilderness, and that the kangaroos will have emerged at dusk from their natural habitat with other wild species. This place is actually a ranch with paddocks and rather ugly fences, the kangaroos are tame, and the immediate surroundings have been logged and are still regenerating. But the real pristine Karri-Tingle forest is not far away and this is not a bad place from which to explore its wonders.

We just stayed one night on our way from Albany to Perth and are so happy with our stay. The cottage is fantastic, clean and a great view over the paddocks full of kangaroos.
The fire was set up ready to just light which was needed even in Feb!
The cottage is well equipped with all you could need including a supply of tea/coffee sugar etc.
The owner and manager are both lovely people, so friendly and eager to share the information of their beautiful region.
I wouldn't hesitate in coming back for a longer stay to explore the area more, maybe in winter for a really cosy time by the log fire!

Fantastic setting with four chalets set far enough apart to still be private. Kangaroos feed on the grass outside all four. Chalets well appointed, nothing lacking, extremely clean with special little touches. Host is welcoming but not intrusive. Site has it’s own walking trail amongst the trees which is peaceful and a haven for birdlife. We stayed two nights, could have easily stayed longer. And the beds are very, very comfortable.

Hello, thanks for your enquiry. We don't have air conditioning, we do have pedestal fans in all chalets. Walpole weather is quite mild all year, February can be warm days, but winter bed linen remains on beds all year as nights can still be quite chilly.
Our winter is from June to Oct
Hello Kim,
December is not usually too hot. Maybe around 25 degrees Celsius. We do provide fans. Evenings are usually quite mild to cool, even if the day has been very warm.
While our office closes around 6pm, we would be happy to welcome you at any time that you may arrive. Please let us know an estimated time for your arrival.
While there is no grocery store nearby, if you let us know what you require, we can ensure supplies are purchased on your behalf and placed in the chalet for you. Thurlby Herb Farm nearby has a restaurant for Lunch or Take-out Dinners - very nice, with orders to be placed prior to 2pm on the day.
Regards
Rhonda
