Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed there for two days and it was really good. The bed was comfortable, the guy who worked there was really friendly and welcoming and the big garden was cool. There was not a lot to do without a car, but it was a good place to just stay there and relax.

We enjoyed our stay here. Our room was very clean and spacious, the en suite was big and clean. Jonathan was so helpful, his suggestions helped us plan days out and visit not just the tourist sights but other interesting places as well. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean, plus it's a short walk to the shops and eating places. Great value for money and free WiFi ..

We stayed here for one night and we booked through booking.com in the uk. On arrival we rung the bell and waited a while for the man to arrive. The man gave us directions to our room which was outside down a walkway. The room overlooked a tank so not much of a view but it didn't really bother us. The room which was an en suite was very basic. The bathroom was a red cemented floor which can become slippery with a shower, toilet and sink which all needed updating. The bed was very uncomfortable and we both woke up with a sore back. There is a gap under the door which is opposite grass which did let in a few insects, so we ended up putting a towel by the door to stop this. We did not have a good nights sleep. In the morning we were woken by a lady cleaning in the room next door around 7 am . She was literally scrubbing the wall which made a racket in ours. we did knock on the door and explain that she was making so much noise and to stop of which she did. There is a communal kitchen but we did not use this we ate out. There is also free WiFi with conditions of use. This place is travellers on a budget. it just wasn't for us.

This was one of the best places we have stayed! Clean, friendly owner and massive kitchen! Hot showers with loads of room. Only big problem was that the male toilet had no lock, but other than that it was amazing!

Stayed 2 weeks in the 4 bed dorm, very comfy beds & clean! The kitchen is well stocked and has a wide range of appliances that I even had a few bake-offs with other guests! Jono was amazing & very knowledgable on the area and gave great recommendations on things to do in Walpole, Albany and Denmark! Would recommend this place to anyone! Will dearly miss sitting around the wood fire after a long day.

We (family of 3) stayed at an en-suite unit end of May where temperature was around 14 - 16 degrees Celcius. The room was basic but the beds were very comfortable with a small fridge and table. It also has a heater too. Can actually fit in 4 pax. Anyway the attached bathroom which was cement rendered painted red can be a little slippery. Communal kitchen was complete with utensils, pots & pans as well as salt, pepper, sauces & even cooking oil! Very well equipped for budget travelers who wanna cook. Nearby IGA closes early at 4:30pm during beginning winter but opens early at 8am. A great comfortable place for a short stopover with visit to the Valley of the Giants & Giant Tingle. Remember to stop by at the nearby Walpole Jetty to take some great sunset pictures around 5:30pm, picturesque setting. If were there for another day, we would have taken the WOW Wilderness Eco Cruise which we heard to a super interesting tour along the Walpole water inlet that takes one to an island, sand dune & a sandy beach with its spectacular views. Of course together with the history of Walpole and its stories. We definitely missed this tour as we had to drive to Augusta the following day. Should have stayed here for 2 nights.

Stopped for two nights over a week as we passed through town. Comfy and clean and Jonathon our host was great. To arrive at night in the rain and cold and find the heater on was a beautiful touch. Thank you.

Basic, budget but comfortable bed and room with a small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Well equipped common kitchen with basic necessities provided ie salt, cooking oil, dishwashing liquid, tea towels and etc. Pantry box to help yourself ie sauces and bits and pieces. Pleasant atmosphere. Large communal fridges available. Family, couples and back packer accommodation.Tourist highlights within driving distance.Enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again if over this way. Walpole is a sleepy town with a tourist office. Love the peace and tranquility of this place.

On a wet night was happy to find a bed for the night. We were in a dormitory but, with no other guests sharing it was private. The lodge is clean and basic. Beds comfortable. Communal kitchen appeared to be well fitted out, though we didn't use it. Staff were helpful, pointing out eating options in town. The only major problem was the communal toilet that locked itself in the middle of the night. This was highly inconvenient. A simple bolt on the doors would be a much better solution. Wifi would not connect to our two phones, but who needs it that badly.
