Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent a night here with our 3 teenage kids in December. Wish we could have stayed longer. Denise was great. She had the aircon on in the rooms, the bbq was ready and the kids were so happy to jump in the pool after a long drive in 38 degree heat! En suite rooms were clean and comfy, camper's kitchen with chilled drinks and breakfast. Lot's of great advice about places to see and a lovely bowl of chilled fresh fruit! Thanks Denise. What a find!

We had originally booked three nights at the pub but after the first night there we had to find an alternative. Mickey came to our rescue! She was incredibly welcoming and friendly, the facilities were good and the room and ensuite were clean and comfortable. Our two nights at Outback Accommodation were excellent!

Small Dongas accomodation surrounded by beautiful trees, bushes and grasses with a top off of wonderful artifacts truly make this place special. The pool was cool biut I could not resist and it was very clean and pleasant. It was very nice to be back in a hot shower. Especially with water pressure. Three nice gathering areas for watching a game, having a bbq or in the center talking with old or new friends. A most positive outback experience. Mickey, thank you! Three days and I knew most of the town. Sandstone and Outback accomodation are worth the stop. Absolutely.

Lovely owner , very welcoming . Has a double bed and ensuite in a seperate Donger style accomodation which is perfect for couples or singles . Would be great in the warmer months due to the communal areas being outside or in the kitchen . Not suitable for young families wanting to sleep together in the same room or connecting rooms . Was a cold time of year so there was nowhere comfortable and warm to sit at night .

You are going to experience big, open outback hospitality from your hosts. The accomodation is B A S I C. But it is hot water, clean sheets and fluffy towels. The donags can do with some work, but you are in the outback having an out back experience and you are in the middle of nowhere. Complimentary continental brekkie is provided in the communal kitchen and it's as good as you'll get anywhere in the country. Even Berocca is provided. Now that's a thoughtful touch. Outback Accomodation is the only place in town with ensuite rooms for couples. The pub does ensuite for singles but rooms in the hotel share bathroom facilities. Meals are available at the pub or there is a microwave and stove in the communal kitchen. The pool looked really inviting and clean. We spent both nights in the Bali themed cabana by the pool. Bring insect repellant or the mozzies will carry you off. Also bring your own toiletries soap, shampoo etc

Donga style accomodation with ensuite. Small rooms, very basic, quiet, clean and comfortable - for this part of the world it was pretty good. Was 2C overnight and we were told to leave the heater on all night so along with the "polar fleece" type sheets we were as warm as toast and slept well. Breakfast was supplied and you cooked it yourself in the kitchen donga - cereal and good old Tip Top white bread. Got to chat to other travellers over breaky. The ac units did not look all that good so may be a bit warm during the warmer months. The people who run the place were very friendly and helpful and obviously try hard given the effort they have put in - e.g. above ground pool, cabana, bar, party lights, play ground etc all pretty basic but added to the experience.

There is limited choice for accommodation in Sandstone and therefore the pressure to improve what's offered is negligible and it shows. We stayed one night and payed for two rooms for three people at $100 per room. The rooms were dirty and basic. One room had no hot water tap at the basin and no plug. Although there was a hole in the basin where the tap had possibly been. The bathroom vanity was very ordinary. Bloated chipboard from moisture and the inside worse with a collapsed shelf and covered in black mould. The plumbing was unusual to say the least. Taps that turn through 360 degrees on and off. Mmmmmm. The water was hot though. No kitchen facilities at all in the rooms however a communal kitchen is available with every thing that is required. The outside areas are the best part of the complex as there are at least three separate zones to sit at tables under shade or cover. With reasonable gardens around. There are a number of kangaroos being rehabilitated in the grounds. I fed them weeds from the garden as their yard was devoid of any vegetation. This place could be something better and starting with a complete clean of the rooms as a priority. As I said the rooms are basic and workable but you don't want to sleep in a place that is very tired looking and lacking in cleanliness. We pay too much for sub standard accommodation in WA. We need to demand better standards at an affordable price. We won't stay there again.

Very friendly people! This is a comfortable place to stay, not many bells and Wistles.... Let's face it, what else do you need, had a hot shower, warm comfortable bed, TV. Breakfast facilities. Go to the pub for tea, once again it was replicated. The place is quiet so slept well.

Lovely host but the accommodation is lacking - dirty and old. Facilities and room are below average. Old cobwebs throughout, dirty walls/surfaces, aircon (for heating) that's way too noisy to use and little critters in the wall cavity to keep you awake all hours of the (very early) morning.
