Booked our stay through an online route and had to change dates, we did so directly through hotel Rottnest. Unfortunately there was a mix up and the online provider did not change their records and so there was an issue of payment. The staff member was really great and got it sorted quickly even with a lot of confusion about the actual problem. Also the restaurant at the Hotel has great food and again the staff are great. Had an issue with a drink that was sorted very smoothly, and with the portion of food served... I'm not sure if she overheard me (I didn't intend her to) but she must have as she came and suggested an extra portion as the one I got was very small. Overall would have greatly wished we had stayed a little longer 😁 Plus the quokka's visit you when you eat

If you think of staying here I would recommend only the rooms facing the ocean, there are only 4 , we are in room 1 And have nothing to obscure our view ( there are some trees in front of the other 3 ) I think of you took the rooms around the back in the courtyard you could be disappointed, so pay the extra money if you can . Room itself was fine and the location is great, you are on an island so don’t expect 5 star

Disappointing response when we informed the hotel management about concerns regarding possible bed bugs in room 12a. Stayed 2 nights after our wedding with visiting family (we are Perth locals). Woke up covered in very characteristic bites along distribution of areas in contact with matress and confirmed with medical collegues bites highly suspicious of bed bugs. Have also had previous personal experience. Complained to hotel in person, via email and over telephone. Reception initially confirmed same room had a previous issue with bed bugs but after complaint was escalated management denied this was the case and indicated ‘new’ reception staff had just confused this with routine pest control measures. Dear Guest, To provide some clarity around you review. A copy of the emails post my phone call to your husband. Thank you for your time on the phone this morning. To confirm, while my personal investigation of this matter has not shown the hotel to be at fault and that no evidence of Bed Bugs as suggested exists. My understanding is that Rob my AGM explained the hotel processes to ensure that all rooms are routinely inspected and on a detailed Fumigation schedule and asset replacement programme. Not withstanding the above, your wife did not have a pleasant experience at our hotel on the evening in question and as a sign of respect and in the nature of good old fashioned hospitality I have offered a refund for the night of the 22nd in good faith. The hotel takes all matters seriously and investigates thoroughly to determine whether we have in any way failed to provide the services or products for which the customer has paid. In this case no evidence of your claim has been discovered and the processes we take to protect against it occurring are detailed. I certainly sympathise with you, but cannot in all good conscience, admit to a failing which I cannot substantiate. I am sure you would reasonably agree that if the room did have such an issue, guests prior and post your stay would also have raised the concern also which is not the case. As such and combined with a detailed inspection of the room no such public health issue exists. I am sorry you feel the hotel has been condescending, as that was certainly not our intention. The hotel itself is lovely, really quirky and we loved the room - comfy, clean, plenty of space! The staff were great too. The location is perfect and has great views of the beautiful beach and ocean. Our problem was dinner. We ate there, had to wait over an hour for food and service that evening was not good, but it was the first weekend of descent weather so all the mainland groups had made their way over for their weekend last minute. The food was descent. The Quokkas roamed freely within the hotel grounds which was fine apart from at dinner. There was food on the floor that needed to be cleared up so Quokka's were eating things like burgers, rubbish etc. We had to take a napkin away from one that decided it was something to eat. Congratulations to Hotel Rottnest on the food and service we received at our office Christmas function Friday 30.11.2018. The food was amazing and enjoyed by all 13 of us. You were able to accommodate our three staff members with food allergies without a problem. The old ‘pub grub’ is no where to be seen at Hotel Rottnest and is a credit to the chef. In fact, there was probably too much food served, so a lot was left behind uneaten because we were all very full. The lady assigned to our table was also on the ball. We were constantly having the water bottles topped up and at no stage was anyone waiting for a beverage of their choice. Will definitely be back.

We stayed at Hotel Rottnest for a night at the end of November. We booked three rooms, all had filthy bathrooms but we could live with that. Unfortunately, one room did not have a working shower. The shower head was cracked at the mount to the wall and sprayed water all over the bathroom making it unusable. We alerted hotel staff right away and they apologised and offered us a bottle of champagne- this never arrived nor did a solution to the problem. The offer of a room change would have been a better solution. In the morning we spoke to the woman at the front desk about the issue explaining that one group had to shower in a room other than their own and that this was only possible as we were travelling in a group. We told her we were really disappointed that nothing was done

Dear Guest, Firstly, my sincere apologies that your experience of our hotel was not up to standard. Your review however does come as a surprise to our hotel and staff. While I apologize that the shower head was leaking and that we where unable to fix it on the night in question, I was certainly not aware of your concerns over the bathrooms in general terms. Unfortunately, on the day in question I was unable to meet with you before your departure. We spend our days chatting with our guests and on occasion we receive feedback that is not what we want for our guest’s experience, however this is exactly how we further improve and refine our services. It is a shame this was not possible on the day. The offer of a discount given the shower heads performance was certainly processed on the day. Warm Regards

Took a trip to Rottnest, which I really recommend and spent a few long hours sitting in the beer garden at the Hotel Rottnest. Fun atmosphere and the bonus was the Quokka that simply wander around the whole area, under you chairs, tables and they are so gorgoeus

The Hotel Rottest team were friendly and flexible to the needs of a tour group that visited Rottnest in November, and provided exceptional service and food. Would highly recommend getting in touch with the team for your next Rottnest day-trip function.

This is not a Hotel! False advertising! Is more Iike a 1960s Motel! Shower in room 7 is filthy, and so is floor! I wiped the floor with towel + big black lines on towel, toilet needs a good clean too! There was no where to put our clothes, and 3 coat hangers + no drawers. Unfortunately stayed for 4 nights was extremely overpriced for what it is, I felt really embarrassed being a West Australian if this is how we treat our tourists, and no wonder lots go to Bali + stay in PROPER Hotels and get treated like Royalty! I fell over trying to open gate! Knocked down wood pole + told staff and apologised to them for what I had done, and hope that they feel karma after my sister and told me that what she said to them after she left after 2 days to return to our sick mum! Our lunch order was clearly forgotten because people that ordered after us were getting served. 3 times we asked where it was and each time they said “it’s coming out now” After an hour and 15 minutes my hamburger was inedible because the meat was not cooked.
