The accommodation at Hotel Rottnest is second to none on the island, being the only resort style accommodation on Rottnest Island that is on the beach. Our Bayside rooms are the top of the range on Rottnest with private courtyards that overlook the majestic Thompson Bay, and are the only Rottnest Island accommodation with reverse-cycle air-conditioning. Spend your Rottnest holiday in resort style comfort only minutes from Fremantle. There is no better place to sit and sip on a glass of champagne and watch the world go by or to rejuvenate after a day of adventure on this serene island paradise.

Like most accommodation on Rottnest it is getting a little long in the tooth, but it was clean and comfortable. Check in was effortless, the ladies at reception called us once our room ready which was hugely appreciated.

We stayed at Hotel Rottnest for only one night but it was a nice place. When trying to book online there wasn’t an option for a single day reservation (2 day minimum) but we called guest services and they made an excerption... the hotel had much more of a “club” vibe that I was expecting after all I just came for the Quokkas but it was a cool spot for beers and people watching. Our room was basic for the price but they have the leverage to charge a lot for a little... over all I was happy, lots of quokkas around and even a peacock. A solid thumbs up from the Uncharted Wanderers we are.

Hotel Rottnest went out of their way to create happy memories for my sons birthday. The staff set up the function area with a perfect view over the ocean. The food was 12 out of 10..so one guest said. Nothing was too much trouble, and we are looking forward to next years celebrations!

We stayed for 2 nights in the hotel ina three bedded room. We are here for a birthday celebration. The hotel is the only place on the island that you can stay if you want to stay less than a week in the height of the season (I believe). The room was spacious with all the usual facilities. It is a room-only hotel, although there is a restaurant next to the hotel it wasn't open for breakfast, but there are a couple of places not far away. The hotel is near the jetty where the ferries come into the island, so not far to walk, and the main shopping, tourist office, etc are a short walk away. They have a large bar area outside that overlooks the harbour and beach. At the end of the day, you don't go to Rottnest to stay in your hotel room. The rooms were what you expect, clean, tidy,…

Fabulous hotel right on the beach, walk up from the jetty or beach and enjoy a cold beverage. Food here was equally good too. Great for kids and groups. Located in Thompsons bay only a 10 min walk from the ferry. Highly recommend. Will be back again.

We stayed for 3 nights with 3 other couples and enjoyed meeting in the quadrangle between our rooms for pre-dinner drinks and general meetups. The rooms are clean and well serviced and the staff is friendly. Aircon in every room a necessity for Rottnest in February. Food and drinks in the pub were ok for lunch. Would I stay there again...absolutely.

My daughter and I had the “share “ platter at the hotel. So disappointed. It had way too much bread, a small pot of honey that was out of place, a small pot of fig (we think - not too sure) jam, and some quince. There was also some cheese, mortadella, coppa, and something that was unrecognisable but also inedible. For the $50 we paid for it we expected less bread, more cheese and some fresh fruit would also have been nice.

Dear Guest, The description of your dish is certainly not what we would serve to our guests. Our platters have three types of charcuterie (Not mortadella), three cheeses, one which is Ash Goats and paired with the honey you describe. A rich terrine, assorted picked vegetables, quince and a date loaf. Sugared Walnuts. Complimented with an assortment of wafers, grissini, & artisan breads including salted bagel. I am sure you will agree for $50 this is quite a feast for two. Please do make contact when your next on Rottnest, as I am happy to shout you another board to ensure the description above is delivered. Warm regards John Langton General Manager

We thought just a day trip to Rottnest Island would be too rushed, so we decided to stay over. There are few choices of hotel on the Island, and this is about it. On the plus side: Friendly, helpful staff, clean room, comfortable bed, good wi-fi. So yes, if you want to stay over, this will do the job for you. That said, it is just basic accommodation, nothing more. The restaurant scene is fish and chips, young, noisy, loud music, obviously lots of people love that kind of stuff. If you are looking for a quiet place, ask the staff to bring your meal to your room, which we did. The rooms are at the side of the property, away from the main noise of the restaurant. The food was simple but well prepared and there was a surprisingly good wine selection. Although food and room are…

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are certainly the destination of choice on the island for F&B given our location to the main jetty and of course the spectacular Thomson's Bay vista. We try to ensure our food offering is broad with a few comfort food items like Burgers and Fish & Chips, however the main stay of the menu is expansive in terms of A La Carte. You may have ordering when the deck menu is on offer between 3.30 pm and 5.00 pm which is much smaller. Hopefully we will see you back on the island soon and come visit us and experiencing the new resort offering due to open Sept 2020. Warm regards John Langton General Manager

I came to Rottnest in August (off season) so the island and hotels/bars were nice and quiet. A big plus of staying overnight was you get to experience the island as a local before & after all the day trippers come and go on the Rottnest Express. This is not really a traditional hotel, it’s more of a motel/guest house but it’s perfect for an overnight stay on Rottnest. Check in to Hotel Rottnest was easy and efficient (I saw the girl who checked me in at the bar later that night, it’s a small island!), and the price was cheap at $200 a night for a Queen room close to the ferry and local bars/cafes. It’s also close to the Pedal and Flipper bike rental shop (biking is a great way to see the island). Wifi was also good (this was important as I had some work to do from the Hotel…

Great location with a view looking towards Perth city. You can watch the ferries arrive and depart as you sit under the umbrellas on the benchs with a beverage. The food was great with a pretty good variety but the only thing we (6 of us) were disappointed with was the fact that on this beautiful island that plastic straws are still used! Considering how close this restaurant is to the beach! But all in all, we had a pleasant time and would definitely return next time!

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review our property and we are very pleased you enjoyed your time with us. As a side note, the hotel does not use plastic straws they are Gum Straws, which are similar in look and feel. We change to paper straws as of the 1st March so as to avoid this confusion. Warm regards John Langton General Manager
