Delicious lobster slider, burger and starters. Food came out quickly and compared to our last visit a year ago has improved. Order drinks at the main bar to avoid getting plastic wine glasses. Food was great and we were very happy!
Dropped in for dinner with 2 families and some extras; prawn and pepperoni pizzas and chicken wings were very nice. Weren’t so happy with the burgers but still okay. Service was very good in a challenging environment; couldn’t fault any of the staff. Everything was delivered quickly. It is a pub under pressure and it delivered well as far as we were concerned.
Has to be the worst fish and chips ever served in the history of mankind. $29 for an undersized piece of shark in soggy batter and luke warm soft chips. Nothing else in the plate apart from a piece of lemon and a tub of tartare sauce. It’s clear to see there is virtually no competition for food in Rottnest when they can get off with ripping people off for substandard food. Oh and the plastic glasses didn’t help. A tip - buy your drinks from the inside bar as you get real glass, the outside bar gives you crappy plastic.
Not the place during a storm. Whole place shakes with the wind. Very noisy. Furthermore trees overhead with tent like roof should be removed for safety when winds are gusty to 100 kilometers per hour.
Having visited many times we were pleasantly surprised to find great improvements. Staff although lacking in some bar skills made up with a great friendly attitude. All day Pizzas were exceptional as was the majority of the other dishes. Yes it is a little expensive but running costs would be higher than the mainland. Look forward to returning.
We had Christmas Day lunch at Hotel Rottnest and had a great experience. The staff were amazing considering the volume of customers. The food was delicious and plentiful. We ordered the drinks package which I wouldn’t do again, another time we would order a bottle of wine and pay for it rather than waiting each time for a glass as the staff were so busy. Not a complaint, just a lesson learned, Great job guys.
My review is for the pub, we had lunch there today and it was absolutely packed. To my surprise the food came out fairly fast and was delicious. The staff were friendly and quick! Tables were cleared in no time and they were pumping out the food. Even a security guard assisted passing on information when a table needed cleaning. Thanks to everyone for an enjoyable visit.
Been coming to this location for 45 years and watched the changes, but somethings still remain the same. Rotto Pub is like a magnet, you just get drawn there! Still has the best views to watch the world go by. Food is plentiful and nicely prepared...kept needing to change kegs however (that probably had something to do with the amount we drank.
Visited Samphire only open a week, expected a bit of first week blues. But have never been to a $500/ night hotel that refuses you breakfast and dinner. Facilities fine but accepting that price per night there should be some responsibility to look after you. They don’t offer a hotel simply a nice room.
My family and I came to the hotel to enjoy the beautiful venue and my experience was only improved by the amazing customer service. Cameron behind the bar was awesome! His product knowledge and can-do attitude was refreshing to see from a bar tender. Cannot recommend enough!
