Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely gardens and lovelier hosts. This is a quirky b&b with lots of hidden nooks to explore. And they had my kind of chess set. The rooms are fully equipped (including a microwave) and very comfortable. A great place to stay on the way up or down the coast and a welcome respite from the road!

We were driving Perth to Dampier, (1,600km). In winter with less light, we decided on an easy first day drive so stayed in Northampton, (489km) for the first time ever - usually we drive further. Upon leaving Dampier for home we really wanted to make it back to Gum Gully, (1.066km) because it's a delightful stop over, easy to find and a pleasant walk to town. When you're tired from driving you want an easy check-in and Gum Gully offer just that, welcoming but no fuss or delays to get into our room. There are two rooms, both are well equipped, (own toilet/bathroom) and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed excellent communication from our initial booking queries to checking in - we found Gum Gully on Facebook and did it through Messenger but you can communicate by phone as well. We had a yummy sweet treat waiting in our room on arrival. The self help in-room continental breakfast is generous - we're hungry breakfast people and it was plenty - bread for toast/jams, cereal, fruit, yogurt. We went to the middle pub (Northampton Hotel), both nights for dinner - we were pleased they were open 7 days a week for evening meals. We have already recommended Gum Gully to friends and will be planning future trips north around a stop over at Gum Gully.

Such a wonderful stop over, the room and bathroom were absolutely lovely, with everything we needed. We had our own private entrance which was great as we were travelling with our 2 little pooches, they loved walking around the beautiful garden. Tea and coffee in the room as well as breakfast which was great. Thank you for everything Cathy, we will most definitely stop over again.

Gum Gully is beautiful oasis away from the hussel and bussel of Geraldton. We had two cars a camper and boat. All safetly parked without need to worry about gear. Amazingly clean and beautifully presented room. Huge bathroom and big fluffy towels. A real treat after two weeks in the bush. The gardens are a treat with old Bedford trucks used as chicken coups in a stunning garden. This is our new 1/2 way stay over from now on on our Pilbara adventures. Great breakfast and really friendly owner. Walked 5 minutes down the hill to the local tavern for dinner. Northampton is friendly little village. Much better than battling in Geraldton. They have 24 hour fuel too!

Spent only one night in Northampton on our drive from Coral Bay back to Perth. Can't say enough about the rooms, gardens, and hospitality of owners, Stew and Cathy. We were a group of 6, so we had two rooms, one of which was a family room suitable for my friends and their 2 children. Took lots of photos, unfortunately have a glitch in my camera and not able to upload. I'd recommend stopping there, even if only for 1 night, but think it would be a lovely spot for a longer stay

I definitely recommend this accommodation. Beautiful, comfortable and friendly! I had the room with the claw foot bath, it was awesome :) After many nights in average motel beds this was a dream come true. Will stay again. If you are in Northampton you should really consider staying here. Plus they have slices of cake when you arrive and coffee bags and cappuccino sachets.

This B&B is amazing, the rooms are immaculate and have the country feel throughout and very roomy with plenty of beds! The Garden is breath taking, I had my wedding here and there was not one person who did not fall in love with the place. The host was very caring and easy going. Returning to a piece of heaven in the country with plenty of places to sit and enjoy a cuppa in the garden. Each section has something else to get lost gazing at. I can not wait to return!
