Our 4 night stay at Gecko Lodge was outstanding in our 5 week trip in WA. A warm welcome from Sha, followed by a home cooked afternoon tea set the theme for our whole stay and the friendly manner of all the staff. The gecko motifs throughout, including a plush toy on our pillow, were a lot of fun. The bed was beautifully comfortable and the room well designed...everything worked so well, including laundry facilities available easily. The breakfast with a huge bowl of fruit and freshly baked bread is taken in a light and airy breakfast room. Cooked breakfast also available and it kept us going all day! The common facilities, BBQ, pool and loungeroom were all spotlessly clean and spacious. Thank you Sha, family and staff for a truly memorable stay. Coupled with Kalbarri's natural wonders, we will certainly recommend Gecko Lodge.

We stayed in the Penthouse Suite. It must be the original owners’ premises – it is upstairs and is a huge 2 bedroom apartment. It was clean and comfortable with great facilities – including a big deck and kitchen. The hosts are very welcoming – with a nice healthy breakfast – fruit, yoghurt, cereal, toast etc as well as cakes for afternoon tea. A great base in Kalbarri.

We were greeted by Paul and given information about things to see, do and places to eat in Kalbarri. We were taken to our room and asked if there was anything else we needed.
The room was very clean and spacious, had a big bath, with spa jets, shower and separate toilet. There were candles and toiletries. The towels were huge and soft and plenty of them. The linen was crisp and clean. The bed was king size and not just two beds pushed together. It was the most comfortable bed we have slept in. There was a bar fridge, which had two cold bottles of water. The room had a kettle, tea and coffee, microwave, tv and movies on demand, small dvd player in the draw, hair dryer, big closet, excellent lighting (which is unusual ). There were two huge pool/beach towels.
There were four rooms around the small pool and a penthouse (2 bedroom apartment) above the office. There is a communal lounge with tv and dvds. There is port and chocolates for you to help yourself at night, as well as fresh muffins, slices and tea/coffee for during the day.
The breakfast was a fresh fruit salad, which looked and tasted amazing, yoghurt, cereals, toast, made to order coffee/cappuccino, etc. You can pre order a cooked breakfast for $10, but honestly there is no need.
There is a fridge in the breakfast area that has milk and small jugs so you can take it back to your room for later use and a cold water drink dispenser, if you want to fill up your bottles.
The pool is only small but there is no need for a large pool as there are only the 5 rooms, which makes it very intimate. There are comfortable lounges around the pool and it is quiet so you can relax.
There are also push bikes, kayaks, snorkelling gear and paddle boards available, free of use. Another great fact is that the location is excellent as most eateries and pubs, town beach and other amenities are within walking distance.
The day we left, after breakfast, our beautiful hostess, Linley, gave us fresh muffins to take with us on our trip.
All in all we would definitely recommend the Kalbarri Gecko Lodge.
Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed for two nights in their two bedroom unit. It was clean and very well appointed with everything you need, including a washing machine, bbq, and a nice covered patio. This unit has a designated parking spot which was nice. The included breakfast was very good, fresh fruit, in-house made bread, and nice coffee.

My wife and stayed here for two nights. Sha was very welcoming. Room was very spacious. Bed was also very comfortable. The complex has a pool, outdoor table and chairs and bbq for guests to use There is also a lounge area for guests to use. The continental breakfast was very good and started off with a big bowl of fresh fruit salad. The room could have done with some more bench space. We found the door stop to be in a dangerous position - could be easily tripped over and a nasty injury as a result. We put a bag here to stop any accident. There was a nice big spa and candles, however we found the spa slippery. If we were in Kalbarri again we would certainly stay here.

We stayed at Gecko Lodge for a couple of nights en route from Perth up to Ningaloo/Exmouth. After passing a series of nondescript small towns after leaving Perth, it was great to arrive in Kalbarri which is a very pleasant little town, and blessed to be situated right next to Kalbarri NP as well as to the jaw dropping Pink Lake 20Km or so to the south. Paul and his team at Gecko Lodge go out of their way to ensure that everything is provided for a very comfortable stay. He is happy to provide maps and local information as needed. The breakfasts include fresh fruit and yoghurt and are delicious. There is access to a lounge with hot drinks and delicious muffins! The rooms, especially the beds, are great. It’s a small place but has everything you need for a refreshing stay. The local eateries and the stunning stretch of coastline/beach are a short walk away. Overall, we would highly recommend Gecko Lodge for a stay in Kalbarri.

Paul and Linley go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable. Great breakfast (can pay for a cooked breakfast for extra $10) with a fruit salad and cereals etc included. Nespresso coffee provided. Free home cooked muffins on offer throughout day. Rooms were comfortable. Apartment with 2 bedrooms is great if you want some space and spoil yourself.

We stayed two nights here and it wasn’t long enough. The lodge is very comfortable, with lots of extra touches that make you feel right at home. These include access to the kitchen and shared lounge for making coffee and providing port and chocolates for after dinner. Breakfast of fresh fruit, coffee, cereals and toast is delicious and the hosts charming and informative. The lodge provides everything you need without pushing other things on you. A great stay

This was a very good choice for our 3 day stay in Kalbarri. Paul and Linley are very helpful hosts in this purpose built B&B with its own pool. Rooms very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Superb muffins for the afternoon, port and chocolates for the evening. Generous fresh fruit for breakfast or a variety of cooked options for a small extra charge. It is a bit out of town, but very close to Red Bluff cliffs and the lookout for enjoyable walks and sunsets. This is definitely where we would return to in Kalbarri.

Very clean rooms, incredibly warm hostess, lovingly decorated, you feel like you've come home. Large fresh fruit plate for breakfast and port wine plus chocolate as a bedtime treat. It couldn't be better. Please stay as you are, it's wonderful.
