Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good size Villa - getting a bit dated but was clean and comfortable. Had everything you would need if you wanted to self cater and if not very close to Restaurants and the local Pub. View was great. Would stay here again.

The Kalbarri Visitor Centre booked my cousin and I into Kalbarri Sunsea Villas for 2 days at the end of February 2014. Our ground floor, one level villa had two good sized bedrooms with ceiling fans, comfortable beds and, most importantly, everything was spotlessly clean. The villa itself was exceptionally roomy with a large kitchen and lounge, a nice outlook over the water and a great outdoor area and BBQ. My cousin and I were happy as clams to be there (apart from the 40C+ temperatures!). The 'above and beyond' bit came after we left. When we got back down to Perth I realised that I had left behind my lifeline - a bag full of computer and other electronic device cables! I telephoned Sunsea Villas as soon as I realised what had happened and spoke to Edward who confirmed the cables had been found. He then made several trips to the Post Office to find out what would be the best way of reconnecting me with those cables and then he found a box, wrapped everything up and got it all sent off in time for me to actually get the cables before I left Australia. He then sent me all the details by text - tracking numbers, address for the post office in Perth, etc etc. He truly couldn't have been more helpful and what was in it for him? Nothing! Thanks to all of his efforts I got everything back the day before I left to fly home. To me, that says a lot about the type of place Sunsea Villas is. It's not a flash hotel but rather a home away from home run by a genuine, honest bloke. The one thing you will never feel at Sunsea Villas is ripped off. If that's important to you, you might just want to give this place a try.

With a family of five it's just wright for us, very much what we needed. The two bedrooms down stairs tend to be slightly a bit warm even with the ceiling fan is on, but it's all good there's air-condition up stairs. It is just a walk away to the beach and shops very convenience, We'll definitely stay here again.

Lovely location but that's where it stops. Maintenance and cleaning were poor - fans were noisy in one of the bedrooms and toilet and the living area was so dusty we had to have the back and front doors open all the time. We think the culprit was a combination of mat, curtain and lounge dust.
The decor wasn't at all welcoming because it was dark and looked like someone's great grandmother had decorated it in the 1970's. The bathroom/ laundry layout was peculiar as well.
From reading reviews we've now discovered that some units have been refurbished, so if you intend staying be sure to ask for a reburbished villa. We were so disappointed with this accommodation the we're sorry that we're unable to recommend.

We drive from Geraldton to Kalbarri, not a long way, but we were told that our unit would be available from 1130hrs, a little trouble find this gem but with a reread of the instructions it was really not that hard, Unit 4 at the end, of a short row of units, opened the door to walk through the laundry, passed the toilet and shower, into the lounge with a big Philips LCD TV, kitchen with a full-size fridge., stovetop and griller, oven. Two bedrooms, both with double beds, barbeque out front. Lots of room and its a great place to stay, and will again, enjoyed the stay at this very clean, modern, spacious unit. And it was not very costly.

We arrived in the dark after a long drive from Perth airport aggravated by a traffic accident near Cervantes which delayed the journey by 2 hours. The property is really poorly lit and you couldn't even see the signage outside the property even when the GPS says you have arrived. This is the first time I have encountered "self-catering" means truly you dont see anyone on site throughout your stay and you are expected to clean everything yourself ( signs everywhere of heavy penalties if you don't clean up or do as told). Getting into the property in the dark was a stressful experience as first you have to find the letter that is left outside the closed office with the pin code to the lock box outside your "villa" which you had great difficulty finding in the dark because there is hardly any lighting.
There is no dryer, just a washing machine but they do provide clothes pegs and a drying rack outside. The patio is in front of house so anyone walking along the main road sees you, so no privacy at all.Really, really dated and my first impression is "what a dump" when I finally entered through this very old kitchen that looks like its been fitted out in the 70s.Its so basic that the shower with a curtain looks like something in a hostel. I would not recommend to anyone and at this price point, would expect something a little more decent. But I guess Kalbarrie is peak season in July and there aren't many choices. Its selling point is its location just across the river and it is near to shops and water activities. Really disappointing stay.

Stayed at Sunsea Villas last week. We had one of the 2 storey ones with a great view of the water and sunset .... Even from the dining table ! There were 3 of us and 2 kids and plenty of room for all. The villas are very spacious, clean and well equipped with laundry and back yard a step away to dry washing. Wonderfully placed just around the corner supermarket, take away etc and playground and jetty over the road. The furniture is good and comfy and the balcony lovely early morning and sunset time. The manager is on hand most of the time and extremely helpful.
Excellent value, friendly and quiet. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The villa was very basic and clean with the usual essentials, soap, shampoo. tea. coffee and milk. No one to welcome us at check in just a note on the office door telling us where to find our key. However the main thing was we had everything we needed and it was clean and comfortable for our few days in Kalbarri. Never saw the manager or any staff as the office was always closed with a number to ring stuck on the door if you had a major problem. Very peaceful location with great views over the river mouth and ocean. There are restaurants and shops close by and beautiful walks along the coastline to watch the amazing sunset.

On the plus side, the location was very convenient, walking distance to everywhere, the sea right in front of you.
The quilt covers were dirty and stained, certainly has not been washed before been given to us. The cups were dirty and stained, did not use them at all.
Did not have any soap, washing machine powder, or the usual amenities that other apartments usually provide - may be we expected too much.
