Myself and she who must be obeyed (sometimes) stayed here in December 2020. We had no idea what to expect (we just needed an escape for a few days) and WoW! The unit / room we were give was fantastic! Icy cold air con (x 2) full sized fridge, bottle of wine on arrival, and best of all - a SPA!!!! Literally everything supplied, iron, toaster BBQ etc. Everything was clean and well thought out. The young ladies at reception were great, very helpful, quick and courteous. The only thing we would say is - steak knives in the rooms please :) And the hand rail in the pool needed attention (they were onto it as we were leaving). Would we stay here again ???? YES!!!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment at this property and it was huge! The main bedroom was very large with a king bed and its own private bathroom complete with spa bath, separate shower and laundry facilities. There was a generous lounge, dining and kitchen space which opened out onto a lovely clean deck. The other bedroom had a double bed with its own smaller bathroom as well as simple kitchen facilities (similar to a studio apartment). The property had a pool and restaurant however dinner was only a buffet at $55 per head. This property has the prefect location of being within walking distance to local restaurants and shops including a bakery and takeaway store as well as the information centre. A swimming beach, children's playground and skatepark are all close walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at this property.

The Kalabari edge resort is located about 100 metres back from the beach in Kalabari town. Close by is a free to use ATM, several restaurants and a bottle store where you can buy beer and wine. The resort is also within walking distance of the very helpful tourist information office and a bit further down the road is a good supermarket.
The Kalabari edge resort is good in many ways. The location is superb, the small swimming pool has a pleasant area around it with sun loungers and the rooms are easily accessed with ample free parking spaces. Our room contained a very comfortable double bed and also a single bed. There was a bathroom with a toilet and shower and the property had an excellent Internet connection. The room also had a fridge (with milk supplied), microwave, table, kitchen sink, hair dryer, and toaster.
But this place could be so much better if more attention was paid to small details and less attention two rather severe notices.
Examples include:
No light bulb in one of our bedside lights (room 125)
A microwave located over the kitchen sink which was a safety hazard for banging your head!
Curtains which were falling off their tracks.
Notices which said a penalty would be imposed unless all dishes were cleaned or loaded into the dishwasher. (our unit did not have a dishwasher)
An extra charge made for paying by credit card. In fact, my debit card was refused and so I paid the balance on our account in cash.
A notice which said that rooms would not be serviced because of COVID-19. I really think this is unacceptable over 12 months after the end of the global pandemic and it felt like an excuse to minimise staff commitments.
Because of these issues I have only rated Kalbarri edge resort as average, but I have to say it is a perfectly acceptable place to stay and I hope this feedback will encourage the management to make it better.

Never have we stayed in a '4 star resort' like this. We got what appeared to be a great Groupon deal on this resort but we were very disappointed and feel totally ripped off. This is not cheap accommodation and is advertised as a 4 star resort. Our room was awful and not fit for guests, in fact, the whole place was grotty and run down. On arrival we noticed that the kitchen and provided kitchen utensils were dirty. We planned on using these quite a bit during our stay so I cleaned them and went on to sanitise all surfaces in the room (just to be on the safe side with COVID). I then noticed how dirty the apartment was. We had lots of activities planned and wouldn't be in there much so weren't too concerned. Plus, I had already cleaned and sanitised the main things we would touch. Over the course of our stay we discovered how bad the apartment was, not only was it dusty and dirty but it is in major need of maintenance. So many items were broken or damaged in some way. On our first night my husband nearly fell through the bed. There were 5 slats missing on the bed frame, the mattress was falling through it, there was no way he could sleep on that. It was 10pm, called reception but no-one there. We had to put cushions under the mattress to be able to sleep on the bed. This was totally unacceptable. The resort would definitely have been aware of this as there was no broken slats on the floor under the bed and you would see the broken frame when changing the sheets. The curtains were broken, bathroom cupboard water damaged, the dishwasher was broken, the drawer fell out onto my foot, it was rusty and had broken rusty metal parts sticking out. The pool was tiny and dirty with no shade sail as pictured. The pool looked nothing like the photos online. The couch was unusable and needs to go to the tip, this also had a broken frame. We both had sore backs and necks from the bed and pillows. A resort should not have broken items that aren't fit for purpose, it's totally unacceptable. The mattress protector was also stained, they obviously don't wash them between guests. Nothing here is maintained, the place is a dump. There is no way that the resort is unaware of any of this, this is not an oversight. This must be their standard, this is clearly what they think is acceptable. We couldn't believe it! The fact that they would have been aware of all of this and still sold us the room is disgusting. The receptionist was apologetic, but didn't really seem to care, a standard response. We didn't bother with trying to see if we could change rooms, from the state of the place, I doubt the others would be any better. Don't be fooled by the photos online, they are misleading.

Stayed 2 nights in a deluxe studio room, nothing fancy but was clean. Was an upstairs room, the wooden stairs to get up to the room probably the only downside to the accomodation as they were terribly creaky and sounded like they were about to fall out from under me (or was that just because of my massive suitcase?) staff were all lovely and helpful. However had dinner the first night at the restaurant, honestly didn’t blow my mind and was a pretty steep price for what was served. Steak was overcooked and tough and on the flip side the chicken breast served with the pasta was undercooked. Ended up leaving the thickest bits uneaten, did attempt to let a staff member know but they were too busy having a chat. The rest of the pasta was very nice and while a little bit disappointed about the bits of chicken the meal itself was fine but nothing special.

Spent three nights at the Edge Resort in Kalbarri and would highly recommend a stay. The staff are all friendly and helpful , especially Chloe who always had a big smile and cheery greeting for us. The Studio room we occupied was very clean and well laid out. Equipped with Fridge, microwave , crockery, cutlery and iron, the services provided more than met our needs. Free Wifi and onsite parking are also available for guests as is an outdoor pool .It is just a five minute walk to the beach and the Tourist Information centre. A small shopping Mall with Bakery , Gift shop and News Agency are just minutes away. There is also a choice of restaurants and pubs within walking distance that cater to a variety of tastes and budgets. For anyone travelling to Kalbarri on the Trans WA coach the Resort is a five minute walk from the bus station.

We stayed at a standard ground floor room with no view.It was value for money for us because we do not want to pay extra for a balcony that only overlook a bushland or a driveway. The room was sizeable, clean, complete with a kitchenette, microwave oven, fridge and utensils.
The aircond unit need servicing as it was not cooling the room. There were ample parking spaces around.
Location is central but no sea view.

Hello Fazillah We are delighted that you enjoyed your Kalbarri adventure and that you found your accommodation to be suitable. Thank you for your positive feedback regarding our facilities too. Sincere apologies you experienced issues with the air-conditioning - we appreciate you letting us know so we can attend to it. Not an ideal time of year for an air-conditioner not to be working! We trust you took some wonderful memories home with you and we do hope to welcome you back next time you are in town.

We turned up on the door step in the evening looking like drowned rats after being hailed on at a local camp ground.... Marcus & Melissa bent over backwards to find us a room in quick time to stop us freezing to death. We booked in for 4 nights ended up changing to 9. The spa room has private BBQ, washer & dryer, full kitchen.. GREAT location

I can not recommend this place any higher, and I can not thank Marcus & Melissa enough for saving a disaster of a getaway

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with 9 and 12 yo. It was massively spacious with room to empty bags and pack away things like beach towels.
Pool said heated and we saw some kids In There but it was freezing. Hotel is Opposite a skate park and basketball court that was packed and the kids loved it.
Great location and within walking distance of everything so hardly used the car.
The town was crazy busy and hard to get food as some restaurants had closed due to COVID or were struggling with staff, so the apartments kitchen and bbq were excellent and we used them most nights. Only downer was no oven so might be worth changing the microwaves to be multi devices next time there is an upgrade?
Also I’d recommend asking for an upstairs appt as it sounded like elephants every morning sometimes at 6am as people moved out of the appts above us.
But did love the rooms and location so would come back.

Stayed for three nights. The stay was ok but nothing special. I will try and find somewhere better in kalbarri next time. The room was outdated and didn’t smell great. You don’t get fresh towels, or replenished toiletries etc. we actually ran out of toilet roll and had to resort to using tissues!
The room was equipped with a microwave, fridge, cutlery and crockery though which was positive.
The location is also good
Didn’t use the pool- it’s quite small and was full of children every time we went past.
