We (my hubby, 3 teenage boys and myself) stayed at Bullara station for four nights but wish we could’ve stayed for longer.

We enjoyed the warm atmosphere that Bullara offers and the many things to see and do. On our first night we enjoyed the delicious burger night with live music, the second night, hubby and I went to the “Table” dinner which was definitely a highlight, I’ve never tasted steak that good! Of course we had to experience the scones and coffee one morning too.

There’s a great 4WD to the gulf where the kids enjoyed trying to catch mud crabs. There’s some great walking path (or mountain bike riding) paths around the property, our favourite was the one that lead up to the sunset hill.

So much thought and passion has been put into this property, the little details (showers and toilets) are what make it stand out from anywhere else we stayed.

Just an hour from Exmouth and 40 mins from Coral Bay, we will definitely be back, and next time we plan to stay longer.

A new experience for us…. we enjoyed our 2 night stay in the shearer’s quarters which was spacious, clean and comfortable with very welcome aircon! The rustic kitchen (specific to the shearer’s quarters) and ablution facilities were also clean and well equipped. The long table dinner in the old woodshed was excellent and provided a great opportunity to meet fellow travellers. We were also very fortunate to be there to see Barney and Kada Miller’s inspirational documentary and to meet this amazing young couple in person. The walking trails are great though the 37degree heat did beat us and we were happy to be close enough to Coral Bay to go there to cool off and do a bit of snorkelling!

We thought Bullara was wonderful. Check in took a little while as it was so popular. Then we were met by Gilly on her push bike who welcomed us to Bullara, giving us a speel about what’s on and where everything is. She talked about the trails. We went on the beer bottle trail. It went through lush country with wildflowers already out. The trees and shrubs were making the most of the wonderful season and were bursting with buds. People jogged past us, not losing their fitness and working off the previous nights damper with “Damper John” or the long table dinner with the wonderful cook, Courtney. It is held every night during the season. She cooked Bullara Station steaks 🥩 with a modern flavoursome veggie salad and potatoes, followed by cheesecake. The young boy at our table was given spaghetti bolognaise, the kids being looked after. Ooh, and we had wine or beer on arrival 👏. It was held in the old wool shed which was a treat in itself. I advise to book ahead as we thankfully did as it was booked out.
So many campers, but so much room. We weren’t on top of everyone. I woke and lay there, looking over the land as the morning light came through, listening to the birds, all else was still.
I can’t tell you how much fun the kids were having there, riding around on their bikes over jumps, good old fashioned fun.
There is a cafe there serving good barista coffee, and we enjoyed scones with jam and cream. They cater for gluten free also.
Thank you Bullara for a 10/10 stay. We will be back.

Sites are quite spacious. Facilities are rustic with quirky uses of old tools, horseshoes, buckets etc but everything was clean and functional. Barrista coffee and were great. Was there on a Friday which is burger night but it was worth the wait - really good. Staff are very helpful and considerate. Would definitely recommend a stay . We used it as a base for visits to Exmouth and Coral Bay

Great stay on a working station. Set up so well for campers with very clean quirky amenities, great homemade food available daily, and long table dinners a must in the shearing shed. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks around the station and the damper tasting.

What an absolutely amazing place and experience! From the moment we arrived and we’re greeted and escorted to our site by Dean until we left and were waved off by Leanne and Mick we had the most wonderful week at Bullara.
There is so much to see and do and so much space to freely roam around. It was awesome for us just to wonder around with Miss 10 and our Golden Retriever and see the red dirt, the beautiful landscape and the animals that wonder around freely. Marked trails/4wd tracks are a bonus and are easy walks for all.
At night we could sit at one of the many fires with fellow travellers and enjoy a drink or head down for damper with John on Mon/We’d/Sat nights— BYO your fave toppings, cannot go past butter and golden syrup! As for Burger night on Friday night— it goes off! The food was amazing and we were lucky enough to have Matt Scullion playing his albums Aussie As for the night- fantastic night!
There is a cafe to have brekky and lunch and the scones and coffee were EPIC! It was awesome having morning tea every day with a variety of slices and scones, lunch we had the quiche- all yummy!
We give Bullara and it’s staff 10 outta 10 and we will be back on our next lap! It’s convenient to Exmouth and Coral Bay for all your whale watching tours, groceries and tours but paradise after the madness of the coast! We think it’s a must do for everyone especially the kids- they’ll have a ball!
Thanks guys for being awesome and offering your home to us as a safe place full of homely quirks and wonderful happy smiling staff! We have loved our week with you guys!
ps. Outdoor showers are a must do, get in early!

We stayed here for 7 nights with 3 other families during the recent school holidays and loved it. We enjoyed the large sites and sitting around the fire under the stars. Highlights were the burger night, live music, the showers at Camp Fossil, coffee & scones and the kids liked the playground and watching all the animals. We did day trips to Coral Bay and Exmouth and were happy to retreat away from the school holiday chaos of these two locations at night.

A wonderful station stay. Lovely to wake to the sound of birds in a well set out, spacious camping area. The thoughtfully designed rustic facilities were always clean and functional and the camp kitchen was always left neat and tidy by fellow campers.
The camp hosts were friendly and helpful and communication throughout the booking process for our extended family was excellent.
Wonderful to have an onsite cafe and evening dining options as well as optional fun activities such as the Friday hamburger night with entertainment. Great to have the cattle and horses nearby and a mottly flock of sheep wandering around the camp for a real outback feel.
I would definitely stay at Bullara again.

We booked two days but did not read the booking confirmation (our fault). They actually rang asking where we were and that was when we discovered the error.
When we arrived the next day we had to be placed in the vacant glamping area. How good was that! Away from the main area but with power and water as well as private use of a donga for shower and toilet.
So good we stayed another three days.

Spent 4 nights here and would have liked longer. Rustic and original station stay but with really clean and well maintained facilities. Nightly camp fires, damper tasting, food nights all make for a great family feel. We were opposite the camp kitchen, toilet/showers and communal fire pit which made it so easy with our toddler. All staff so friendly, welcoming and passionate about Bullara. Special mention to ‘Damper-John’ and Dean. Just over an hour to Exmouth for beaches and food supplies and even closer to Coral Bay.
The attention to detail was obvious and those little things made a big difference.

As reported in the review, we spent the night in one of the 6 rooms of the Shearers Lodge. We do not know the prices for the other accommodations. If you call they are very polite. If you decide to go, consider booking the restaurant as it only has 32 seats. Regards
