This is the third time we have stayed at the place. The chalet was great, swimming pool lovely and refreshing after a day on the boat. Chris the receptionist was friendly and very welcoming. Close to the National Park and boat ramp.
I felt that the furniture in the chalet could have been updated/replaced - chair falling apart. The general store was not stocked with basics - no bait, fresh milk, bread etc. The petrol pumps were not working and we had to drive to Exmouth to fill up the boat and car. I feel that there should be a low/mid season rate as not all the facilities advertised are available during the summer holidays.

Very popular in season. The staff went out of their way to make everyone welcome. A surprisingly large caravan/camping park. There was a lovely café serving meals and on some evenings there was entertainment on the lawns – excellent. Basics are on sale in the reception along with some snorkelling gear. The negative is that many selfish drivers travel fast through the park and create dust. There is a definite need for speed humps particularly at the intersection of all the roads converging near the grave site. Adequate laundry and ablution facilities everywhere. Ablutions were very well cleaned several times each day which made it a pleasure to stay there. The road in to the homestead badly needs attention but this is apparently the responsibility of the shire council and not the homestead. You definitely need a vehicle to stay here as the beach is a distance away as is the Exmouth town. Would definitely stay there again.

We booked a 3 night stay for a powered site here over 12 months ago. My impression from the website was very different from the actual park.
The park is tired and needs an upgrade. Just be aware that if you book a powered site you cannot use a toaster, jug, hot water system air conditioning any electrical item that has an element like hair dryer. So not too sure why the advertise powered site. We were told very clearly that if we use any item with a heating element the whole park would go down. You need to take your own drinking water which is standard with most park up north or on the west coast.
Dogs are welcome???$50 bond for each dog to make sure they behave!!!!
Make sure you check your site out and try and get one near the pine trees as they are cooler. They initially gave us a site with no trees. We were so lucky the guy across came running across and said go and get a different site you are going to cook. We went back and the lady gave us another option. Thank goodness as the sun was on the site all day36 degrees.
The park is handy for fisher persons as the boat ramp is just down the road. Lots of boats in the park.
We had a meal from the cafe which was good hamburger and chips. Also coffees which were fine. There is a pool there also.
After leaving Yardie we went into the caravan park in town Exmouth Ningaloo Resort opposite the info site which was fantastic

DO NOT book at the shearing shed as you will be paying the same amount or more as a bloody resort !

I booked a 10 sleeper house months ago and when i arrived i was told that they changed my booking to an 8 sleeper. Did not bother telling me they changed this !

The young girl at the counter was rude and snobby rolling her eyes the whole time. Telling me that they thought when i booked the $600 chalet that this would be only a booking for myself and now require more money for extra people.

There is a resort 5 mins from main city charging less than this disgusting accomadation. To top it off the double bed for me and my partner was in a bedroom with all my friends bunk beds and not seperated off. This must be the reason they refused to send me photos before booking.

The girls toilets doors were broken so only 2 showers in use at a time and wifi cost $15 for only 1 gig
What a ripp off
We also couldnt use this in our room, had to use it next to the reception ares and no where else.

No food to buy at the store and no shops or petrol stations anywhere so how can you chsrge these fees you should be ashamed of yourselves.

It cost more for the cabins and these are not much nicer at all

Response from , Owner at Yardie Homestead Caravan Park

Hello, I think you forgot to mention a few details here : 1 - First of all, the major fight that occurred inside your group, that we had to call the police to break up by removing 5 of you. The other 5 being too intoxicated to drive, but on the warning that they would be locked up if anything else was to happen. Throwing punches, blood everywhere. All the other guests in the park feeling unsafe. Maybe it would be good to mention that in your review. 2 - The 6 hours cleaning required after you stayed 1 single night in 40 square meters. That is a record for us, by a long shot. 3 - The hole in the wall of our accomodation that is now unable to be booked for 2 weeks while it is getting fixed, costing us the trouble to relocate guests and the money of the reparations and lost bookings. Here are the answers to your more "reasonable" comments : 1 - your booking was for one guest in order to try and avoid paying the full amount, that is why you were in an 8 sleeper and then you refused to pay the full price for your other guests and we accepted that you shortened your stay without having to pay the cancellation fee. We charge by the number of guests ($160 a night for 2 + $25 per extra guest) in order to allow smaller groups to afford their holidays. 2 - the "young girl at the counter" was not snobby or eyes rolling, she felt terribly threatened by the behaviour of your group in which were very aggressive guests. She explained you calmly how the pricing and booking work, just repeating the Terms & Conditions that you had received with your booking and then, agreed upon by confirming it. 3 - We never refused to send you pictures. Full details and various pictures are available for everyone to see on the website, for all our accomodation types. 4 - WIFI is sold the price we buy it. We are in a very remote area surrounded by nature, big companies are not interested in providing us with service. Once again, all this information is clear both on the website for everyone to see and in the Terms & Condition sent before confirming a booking. 5 - The store is a convenient store, so there is no fresh food. 6 - Petrol station was open during your stay.

This is a wilderness campsite with very basic amenities so I take that into account when writing this review. Some sites are very exposed along the eastern end with no break at all from the very strong winds making it uncomfortable. The location is remote (approx 30 mins drive from Exmouth) but near some beautiful beaches. the biggest disappointment was the takeaway food. We were charged $96 for three take away fish and chips.(see attached photo) A small paper box with literally 20 chips and two small pieces of fish. An absolute rip off, when I complained I was told it was locally bought fish and simply given some more chips. We won't be back.

Overall, a relatively average camping experience. Not the worst but many improvements could be made. Awesome location and short drives to all the best snorkelling sites which was a plus - I love the wilderness feel and the fact it’s set back off the road and near the cape range.

However the amenities were always unclean. I’m not sure if that’s because other guests weren’t cleaning up after themselves which isn’t the parks fault but at no point were the bathrooms ever actually clean so we unsure if there’s a regular cleaning schedule? It could definitely do with an update regardless! And at the very least some brighter lights in the kitchen area.

The biggest issue we had was how unclear our booking was. We stayed in a powered tent site on the grass. When we rocked up in the dark, we had absolutely no idea where we were supposed to set up as it wasn’t clear there were no sites. Other campers expressed the same issue over the coming days. Not only that, but there is only one power box for the entire grassed area which meant that all campers were basically on top of each other to be able to use the power rather than adequately spreading out and using the large space, which made for a pretty average experience!

The long story short: this place would be awesome if a bit more cash was injected into improving it.

We really loved our time at Yardie Homestead in early July. We had a nice big campsite, with good shade. The location is great for being close to so many beautiful snorkeling beaches along the Ningaloo coast. I was very glad we were told to bring a drill for putting in the tent pegs, which made it easy. Really loved the live music at the cafe one night - The Little Lord Street Band. We had a couple of great meals from the cafe - fish burgers were especially good!

I booked a site and paid a deposit six months ahead of our visit to the Ningaloo Coast, staying at the Yardie Homestead park. I recommend you do book early if you want to stay here. It was very busy when we were there.
Despite our early booking, I was disappointed with where our site was located in the park.
Our dusty site was adjacent to the busy dump point and the tour bus camping area which put the ablutions near us under considerable pressure despite the staff's best efforts.
Friends who arrived on the same day (and had booked well after us) were placed on a shady, quiet site away with longer duration stays so it was quieter. People who's stay was of shorter duration than ours moved in and out from their location over the course of our stay.
I simply don't understand how site allocation is determined. Is it the size or age of our van? Is it simply an on the day decision by the person at the front desk? How do other people deal with the situation of an second rate site allocation?
The Yardie Homestead Caravan Park is ideally located for exploration of this side of the NW Cape and for shopping in Exmouth. The facilities seem stretched at busy times of the year but are generally well maintained and there's obvious pride in the business.
i'll be careful to find out where my site is if a return visit eventuates. I recommend you do the same.

We stayed in 1 of the 6 bed cabins, clean and everything was there that we needed for a great stay, such a great location and would highly recommend these to anyone wishing to experience the Ningaloo coast. The coffee at the cafe was also great. Park staff were very friendly and happy to share their knowledge of the area.

We enjoyed our stay at Yardie homestead. Great location just outside the Cape Range National Park, dog friendly,( even have a handy dog sitter) relaxed rustic bush setting. If you enjoy a natural campsite and not a concrete no shade campsite this is for you. With friendly staff, little cafe, big basic camp kitchen. The bathrooms are old style yet cleaned twice a day. We found great value here. A bonus was the howling dingoes, emus around cape range and very close to the Tantabiddi boat ramp. Yes slightly limited on not being able to use air con as they generate their own power ( how cool is that) but hey suppost to be camping who needs it!
We have stayed in town camping too but it is such a drag to drive everyday into the national park, and who wants to be camping in town on the side of the road when you can be camping in nature?
Love this place, will defo go back.

Did not see any campfires but not sure if allowed. Lady that runs the shop/Reception was not the happiest camper! Probably need to ask her.
