Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hosts were friendly and helpful, most accommodating when we needed to vary our booking, which we appreciated. A most wholesome breakfast was provided. Being able to use their canoes on the Inlet was an added attraction. However, we have a few reservations- tired decor, and a somewhat unkempt look with things needing to be done. It was not as peaceful as we had hoped with their three year old running in and out at breakfast. The location is great but traffic noise a bit much at times.

Whenever you're in that part of Australia - and you just have to do it sometime - this place is the best to stay. It is well located and the hospitality of Henriëtta and John is more than what you pay for.

The cooked breakfasts last you to well into the afternoon, which is a good thing if you're going to start tasting the wines of the Margaret River area from early in the morning!

There is just so much to do in the vicinity that you should start by not staying for less than three nights!

John and Henrietta run a friendly homestay. Pretty basic but comfortable and homely - a bit like staying with your grannie. Comfortable bed. Quiet location. Good breakfast served in the garden room. Fine for an overnight stop en route. Prices advertised on the website look a little top-end for this type of accommodation. At low season and last minute bookings, it may be possible to negotiate a better deal. The whole region is over-priced so always ask about deals wherever you stay.

first impressions very poor all verandah and entrances covered in junk. communal areas also covered in junk. no solid doors on room and could hear noise from other guests and the water system. rooms were cold and central heating was turned off in the middle of the night. spa in our suite didnt work and outer spa closed but door off it's hinges. for 5he price we paid I think it would have been nice to stay elsewhere. road noise was noticeable and mosquitos were bad. wouldn't stay here again despite central location. our room was also serviced late evening 5 pm f9r dishes. could have done with fresh towel esp being winter towels don't dry. but only got clean dishes. wasn't expecting room to be serviced at all.

The place is great felt nice and comfortable while still being cheap although the experience was ruined by a little delinquent who caused mayhem for the guests. This little ranga would scream loudly at night running around in his underwear. He would barge into rooms scream and leave he was a horrible little runt

had a horrible experience here, we refused to stay due to the misleading photos, the junk surrounding the property, how unclean the property was and also due to the smell.

the property STUNK

They also refused to give us a refund and booking.com did nothing to help us.

It was our wedding anniversary and we were incredibly disappointed, i would avoid this accomodation.

when arriving found entrance to be untidy clutter on verandah needed some TLC bedroom nice enough bed too hard and u could hear everything .The price we paid we thought it should have been included the breakfast but that was separate .This was our wedding anniversary so it was a shame .Good location to everywhere.Nice backyard private .Hostess OK welcomed us .My daughter said for that price u should have stayed at the casino lol .Oh well won't be returning and I really think the owners should look at other reviews they say similar things and have done no improvements over a period of time.

We thought we'd turned into a junk yard by mistake. We tried to stay here despite it looking like a rubbish tip and being only a few feet from a very noisy main road but after the owner eventually showed up and was pretty rude to us we decided to find somewhere else to stay. They are refusing to refund money to wotif.com after I complained. See pictures below to see the state of the place, it's a shame I can't upload video to demonstrate the traffic noise.

Thank you for your review. Although the photos are of the shed and service area which are a no access point for guests. This review is suspicious as "guests" did not stay with us.

We were Impressed with the excellent service and friendliness of the hosts. Full cooked breakfast served on heated plates! (Don't you hate having hot food served on cold plates!) Bright alfresco style dining room with outlook to nice gardens and the relaxing music makes it a pleasant experience. The hosts are helpful with ideas and good knowledge of the region. Yes, we will be back again!!

We only stayed one night at Toby Inlet B&B en route from Perth to Margaret River and beyond. This was a last minute find as we were unsuccessful in getting accommodation at MR for a Saturday night. Turns out Toby is a real gem. It's location makes for a perfect rest stop along the route we were driving. The room with it's extra-large double could accommodate our family of 4 (with 2 preschoolers) very comfortably. The en suite was bright and spotless - exceeding most hotels. We opted for the English breakfast which was definitely filling and real value for money. From the dining room, we could see resident bandicoots munching on their breakfast in the garden and this had our 2 kids very excited. The enclosed garden makes for a safe place for the kids to play in and they also greatly enjoyed the company of the owners' young boy. The owners, Henrietta and John, are very hospitable and helpful, even tipping us off on what time "Nemo" was showing on TV that evening - although there was already a cupboard full of DVDs we could draw upon (besides books and games). They also shared with us which attractions would be great for us with 2 small children. We even received a welcome pack comprising coupons and map to nearby attractions. This is our 1st stay in a B&B and we are deeply impressed. We highly recommend Toby's Inlet B&B.
