The Floating Forest retreat is just over a kilometre to the town of Denmark in WA's Great Southern region, set amongst 22 acres of Tingle and Karri Forest. We have 3 beautiful cabins (1 large (Wood), 2 small (Tingle and Karri)) for couples and singles, all with stunning inlet and forest views; one 1 bedroom rammed earth cottage (Earth) with separate living space and balcony with inlet and forest views; and a newly refurbished 2 bedroom character Cottage (Jarrah) with many handcrafted wooden features that can accommodate up to 4 people. Very private, yet so close to Denmark and all the region has to offer.

We stayed in TINGLE which is one of the five chalets on this property. Beautiful chalets with an amazing view over the valley and the sea. They are small in size but they have everything in them that you need and are very comfortable. Lovely bed and pillows and the owners are lovely and very friendly. They are central to everything in Denmark and just loved the quirky bits and pieces in the surrounding grounds. We just loved Denmark and would definitely stay here again when we return.

So pleased to hear you appreciated the peace and tranquility at the Floating Forest. We try really hard to create a retreat amongst the towering karri trees and tingle trees…just so lovely to hear it being appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you back!

We stayed five nights in the Karri chalet. It was smaller than it looked on the photos but was plenty big enough for the two of us. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare and cook a meal and the free standing spa bath was so lovely at the end of a day exploring plus there was a shower too. The log fire helped in the cooler evenings and there was wood available. The walks in the surrounding trees are beautiful as they are full of the local bird life and the spring flowers were just emerging. There was a little cabin outside our chalet and was the main location for the parrots, fairy wrens and honey eaters to gather to feed. An amazing place to recharge your batteries and explore Denmark, Walpole, Albany and surrounds ☺️

Thanks for your feedback - so pleased to hear you were able to explore our forest....its magic in there, but I suspect many of our guests do not venture along the paths. Thanks again ...Damian

Probably my favourite place we stayed on our entire two week trip of WA. In fact, the accomodation itself could pass as a sufficient holiday location (but it would be a shame to miss out on what Denmark has to offer).

The property is located on a significantly sized block of land (its absolutely massive and feels like its own town completely separate to Denmark), and has stunning views overlooking William Bay. The host, Andy, was extremely friendly and gave us some great advice.

The apartment itself is modern, clean, well proportioned and excellently fit out (including a BBQ on the balcony, fridge and oven). For those who like kangaroos there is also no shortage of opportunities to see them on-site!

It is excellently located at only a short two minute drive into the town.

I also highly recommend Denmark Gelato and Pasta in town, the large pasta for $18 was delicious (and well sized) and the gelato was also excellent.

We stayed for three nights in the Wood cabin - the view from every window was lovely (lots of natural light which was great) and the cabin was bright, modern and very comfortable. The wood fire was great (there is a reverse cycle heater also), we bought extra firewood in town as we used the fire every night. The bathroom was really modern and included a lovely free standing bath. The location was fantastic as it was only a few minute drive into town, but the accommodation is private and surrounded by trees (you can also see the water when it is clear). The kitchen was well equipped for simple meals. The furniture was all very comfortable and modern. We really enjoyed the stay and will stay again.

The Floating Forest ist a little oasis of calm and peace just up the road from Denmark. My partner and I stayed in October for two nights in beautiful Karri. We were touched by the many little thoughtful gestures and things in the cabin, like a welcome note on the kitchen table, the quirky and beautiful artwork, and the quality and newness of everything. There were thick white towels, a very comfy bed and Bonny & Neil linen cushions... and the bathroom is absolutely beautiful and brand-spanking new. We used the fireplace on the first night, as wood was kindly provided. We also had several local visitors, like a couple of roos (with baby on board), and lots of colourful birds. So, thanks Sharon and Damian. You are such great hosts!

3 days spent here was absolutely wonderful. It was quiet and private. We stayed in the Earth cabin as it was the only one available. Initially I would have picked another as they are newer, but upon staying here I think we picked the best for our needs. The birdlife is simply amazing. Each morning we had robins, fairy wrens, finches, lorrikeets literally on our doorstep. It was such a delight to sit on the deck and watch these birds. it was very cold one night and the hosts gave us some firewood which was appreciated. Has all the equipment you need, just note that the BBQ is a flat bbq not the one in the picture with the hood. Would definitely stay again if in this part of the world

What a wonderful place to come, relax, enjoy modern decor and good bed! Sheets, towels, choice of teas and coffee. A lot of planning, attention to detail and love has made this place a retreat we would be visiting on a regular basis if only we lived here....
We stayed in Tingle, which is probably the one we would go back to. Yes, there is little space for bagage, but as your car is 5 steps from your bedroom sliding door, that really is no problem at all. WIFI was good, great shower and toiletries.
From your verandah you can seelots of different birds and wallabies show up on a regular basis (shy as they are, you need to be quiet)

We had the pleasure of staying in the wood cabin for 3 nights and could not fault a thing. Cleanliness, amenities, beautiful comfortable furniture, hand written notes, quirky little touches. Good quality and comfortable bedding and towels. We are planning a trip back in winter so we can use the wood fire. It was lovely spending time on the balcony watching the birds and kangaroos and wildlife whilst barbecuing. Very close to town and a well looked after and maintained property. Kitchen was well equipped and beautiful glassware. Fresh herbs from the garden were a nice touch. Gorgeous views from all the windows and it was lovely lying in bed in the morning watching the birds hopping about the balcony. Nice romantic spot for couples or if just want some peace and quiet in nature. We would highly recommend. Only suggestion I would have is a hammock on the balcony for lounging and bird watching.

Thanks for your fabulous review Alison - so pleased you enjoyed your escape in our forest sanctuary. I hope you had a chance to explore the grounds and the bush trails. Thanks for the suggestion of a hammock on the balcony, we will certainly give that some thought!

A beautiful chalet with a stunning forest backdrop. Wonderful use of mud brick and natural timbers, combined with an array of local decorative craft pieces and all the modern comforts, make this the ideal getaway.
Conveniently located close to the Denmark township and magnificent coastline.

We stayed in Tinsel cottage and moved over to Wood to extend our stay. The cottages are super clean and well equipped. The host was very warm and welcoming and even organised for us to stay an extra night. I highly recommend staying here.
