Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An old. but well maintained, quirky hotel with all rooms on the first floor up several flights of stairs. So not suitable for dragging up heavy suitcases or for those who have trouble with stairs.

We stayed in a 15 square metre queen bed room for one night and while the room had all the necessary amenities and was in good condition, there was little room to move around the bed. There was a spacious balcony off the room but it could only be accessed via a sliding door and down more stairs and it got very hot in the afternoon so we didn’t use it.

My suggestion if staying here, if you can handle the stairs, is to make sure you book a bigger size room. Our friends booked a room with a king size bed and the room was big enough, or there are very big family rooms available.

Welcoming friendly host at this hotel right in the centre of town. Our Moulin Rouge themed room was large and warm with a comfortable bed and excellent shower, strong and hot. The room has a large balcony equipped with seating, table and a day bed; it's a lovely sunny spot in the afternoon and overlooks the street. No breakfast facilities at the hotel but it's close to cafes, the Bakery next door is recommended for an excellent breakfast. Walking distance to the Denmark River and a short drive to Boston Brewery. The owner lives onsite. Rooms are replenished but not fully serviced daily.

Stayed here for 1night out of 2, room was really small, just enough room to walk around bed. Charged more for the room than advertised on wotif. Had to climb numerous stairs with heavy bags. When asked about the wi fi ot working I got some excuse about the modem had been hit by lightning
Found somewhere else in Denmark to stay for night 2

Entrance was from the back as the front reception is closed an hour for lunch.
Front reception is also closed at 6pm. The back entrance will need to be used.
Several stairs need to be climbed inside to get to rooms and outside to get to the room.
Rooms and building smells musty. Tacky decor. Very outdated. The room offered was so tiny, we asked if we could possibly upgrade to another room.
20.00 extra got us a bigger room with a balcony view of the main street.
Bed was comfortable but, won't stay here again. Overpriced for what was offered.
Photos online are very different to what we saw.

My significant other and I had the pleasesure of spending a few nights at 31 On The Terrace a few years ago (December 2019) and I still recall the experience since the proprietors are just about the sweetest people in town. So hat's off to Rob and Debbie if they're still running the place.
We booked the smallest room there, and it was still great.

Side note: Remember to bring a car if you visit Denmark, since most attractions are far away. We forgot and the proprietor took pity on us and gave us a lift to the local brewery (also worth a visit).

I recently stayed at Hotel 31 on the Terrace and found it to be really good value for money. This cosy place offers an exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows, ensuring a great night's sleep. The balcony was a highlight, featuring a day bed, tables, chairs, and a charming little view that's well-protected from wind and rain. The hotel was clean and had a quirky charm that added to the overall experience. I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed at 31 the terrace in denmark. Was escorted to a room which was small but accommodation was limited in the area. The room had been poorly and cheaply decorated with marks still on the wall. The bathroom was a poorly converted part of the bigger room. We were surprised that this has had positive reviewers. We will not be back to this hotel but denmark is fabulous.

Lovely helpful owners. We had 2 nights in the large Hollywood room and there were extra bunks for a family. The room had a small shower room and separate toilet. Brilliant location and private car parking.
Clean and value for money. Thankyou

Had a good size room for a reasonable price. Bathroom modernised and neat. Comfy bed. Internet not particularly good but can be difficult in country towns so no harm no foul. Very nice friendly and helpful staff. Thanks so much, will happily return.
