Loved3x my camping stay at Denmark Rivermouth. It's a very last minute trip during xmas period and I was glad I could find something to book! I was actually quite nervous because it's my first camping trip and I just bought my new tent, but I was very3x proud of myself cos I successfully built it all by myself so easily! 😊 It's also all made possible thanks to the soft and immaculate grass area which makes building the tent so easy. It's evident that the grounds are properly taken care of. It's green, it's shady and just peaceful despite it being very busy season (but note to self for next time: avoid corner sites as it tends to get noisier from cars coming in and out and ppl walking around the corner, esp in the morning).

The campground is close to town, the staff were amazing and friendly, the river is absolutely beautiful, the facilities were clean and there's lots of activities you can do: join the river cruise, swim in the river, kayaking, fishing, SUP, paddle boat or you can even walk on the nearby heritage trail. There's 2 bathroom blocks...one older, one newer. I always just used the newer one and it's amazing! The shower pressure was strong with plenty of cubicles to choose and great hot water (the water gets hot very quickly with only a little turn so be careful not to burn yourself).

What I also like about this campground was the 9pm curfew and it was actually enforced. It goes to show the staff really do care about everyone's having a good and quiet times at night. There's an on-site cafe. I didn't try the food, but their coffee was great. Some reviews commented about the expensive price for the powered sites, but I think it's reasonable considering the good quality of facilities we get in return.

Unfortunately I missed the river cruise...but I will definitely come back again to camp and do the cruise. Great experience overall!

This park needs a lot of maintenance. I would not use the toilet block under the tall trees near the road, the womens side smelled of sewage. We timed the cleaners, 18 minitues to clean both mens & womens, laundry & disabled bathroom. My husband went into the ablutions in the centre of the park, he said the mould was half way up the walls. The sprinklers did not get put on the lawns for the 6 days that we stayed, lawns are mostly dead.

Stayed for a week in January on a powered camp site. Lovely small park in great location on the river. Reception friendly and helpful.
Negatives would be, toilets should be cleaned twice a day in peak season as they got quite dirty. Also, dogs welcome at this park but dog sites should be separate from other sites. Not everyone wants to camp with dogs! Sites also quite small.

this caravan park has a great location but it needs to lift its game , toilets / showers are clean but have no hooks to hang up your clothes or towels ( WTH ) , bugger all rubbish bins were out in the park until the park flooded due to a summer storm and people had to dispose of all their perishable wet items , gee why did the park flood ?? the storm water drains were all blocked ( hello maintenance ), also cleaning the toilets and showers at 9am does not really work , i have noticed others have commented on this, obviously no one really cares what the customer requirements are . I must say that is location close to Denmark town centre is a bonus but at the price charged we wont be back in the foreseeable future !!!

Would have rated this stay 5/5, up until I was treated extremely rudely by one of the staff members in the Reminisce cafe on the campsite.

The water was cut off due to breakage of a water tap and no coffee, showers, toilet or any water facilities were available on 24th December 2024 morning. During this time, I requested a coffee from the cafe, I was told it wasn’t possible because of this water outage. I was told by one of the staff members to purchase my coffee elsewhere. This was no issue and I drove to and purchased my coffees in Denmark town. On arrival back to the camp site I stopped back in the campsite cafe to take one sweetener for my coffee.

A red haired woman with black framed glasses named Alicia rolled her eyes at me, said I couldn’t take the sweeteners even though I had explained the situation to her. She was extremely rude, muttered nasty comments under her voice and was extremely unprofessional. I spoke very politely to this staff member and was met with a condescending and rude response. Regardless of the issue with the water I feel this was a very reasonable request given that we were paying customers on the site.

Imagine not giving one sweetener on Christmas Eve…

Stayed at the big 4 now here. Big 4,imo, for families with littlies, this is for the teens. Kids swinging off the rope swing into the rivermouth, kayaking, swimming. Friends and families eating at the cafe. Not me, a little too expensive. Fish and chips $22. Walked into town almost every day for a coffee or to stock up on a few items for dinner. Loved it. Now im going to say that the bathrooms are cleaned once a day and the the ones closest to us were dated and bugs would gather at the sinks of a night time. They alao smelt like drop toilets. Choose your bathroom to use. The nicest was the red rooms. Camp kitchen was great. One bbq was working out of two and the power dropped out on the 37 degree day. Im saying that a little more maintenance is required. In saying that we will return

Having been to this caravan park at least 5 times in the last couple of years it saddens me to have to rate this park as low as I did. On arrival (a group of 3 vans) we were checked in by a lovely young girl at reception. Our bay was extremely sandy and our travelling companion was supposed to be opposite us but wasn’t. He had a large van and when parked on his bay away from us, he encroached on the rear bay and his drawbar was on the edge of the road. When we looked, the men decided to go back to the office to see if he could move to a larger site. The young girl was trying to accomodate him and went to the back of the office to check with someone who then came down to the site and asked if this was ‘the problem van’ . As I was standing there minding my friends dog I said ‘yes it is’ . She said to me so what’s the problem’. I said we were worried about the length of the van encroaching etc. She then said take the bikes off and I replied we shouldn’t have to! I was then told she would refund my money. I didn’t want a refund. I also queried if the park had changed ownership and then things went from bad to worse……she again said I’ll refund your money and I said no thank you. The lady then said ‘wellstop your whinging’. I felt insulted and upset and it is definitely the last time we will visit this park! The park itself needs a big tidy up and some money spent on it. Big 4 for us and our friends next time. I just hope the lady in question reads this and understands she can’t speak to people like this as we are / were their clientele.

The park is close to town on the river and inlet and is a great location to stay.
The caravan site was large and we had the choice of old or new modern ablution blocks and a new camper kitchen.
Recommend the evening Fish and Chip Cruise on the river and inlet.
Staff were helpful and cheerful with finding two sites together.
I had booked over six months in advance and confirm a week before arriving that two sites together are booked.
I am finding "We are unable to guarantee site numbers" policy is disappearing with most parks that I have booked in the past several years.
Highly recommend this caravan park.

Passing through Denmark on our holiday with family from Europe, arrived late afternoon in high season. we were very happy to get a spot. None of us are clean freaks but this camp facilities were just plain filthy. Not only, the toilet/shower blocks were closed for "cleaning" from 8-8.30 in the morning, very clever, but when finally we could use it after half an hour stepping outside, you could not see any difference? All the debri/ hair was just pushed into the corners, suspicious smears on the walls in the toilet cubicles were still there from the night before and the toilet bowls haven't seen the brush for a long time. The only way you could tell there was someone trying to clean was the overpowering stench of the bleach that would make you gag. The kitchen was a very similar story.....

For some reason we were placed next to another tenant who had taken up two powered sites. That was after we spent 10 mins trying to find our allotted site because of poor signage. Heaps of empty spaces around our site. The park shop shuts at 5.00pm, good for when you arrive hungry at 4.30pm. Got the strong impression that this park is run for the owners, not for the customers.

Hi Michael Thanks kindly for your review of our caravan park in your recent stay. I am sorry to hear that you had some troubles locating your site, a quick return, or phone call back to reception would have easily remedied the issue. We had experienced a few rainy days prior to your stay which rendered a number of sites as unsuitable, (wet), which gives the impression of being bunched up. - Agreed not ideal, but nothing worse than trying to set up on a wet camp site. The onsite café is indeed currently closing at 5.00pm, - (Not bad, considering we are of a few cafes in town operating after 3pm.) We do take orders for takeaway meals up until this time. - It is not viable to have 2 staff, stay working for 1 serve of fish and chips. There a number of eateries operating in the township, only a very short stroll back into town. Thanks again
