This caravan park is ! kl out of Denmark town. Right on the inlet and river. Boat ramp next door. Lovely park with adequate amenities. Cafe as well. Playground for kids with enough without the bouncing Balloons. Camp kitchen is good. 1 older than the back one. Plenty of toilets but front one is old and very smelly. The other 2 were newer and in good condition. Chalets are good size and clean. Ours over looked the jetty and ws lovely. Bike ride into town was great for the kids as you had a map to find the 12 hidden fairy doors. Would go back again.
Having been to this caravan park at least 5 times in the last couple of years it saddens me to have to rate this park as low as I did. On arrival (a group of 3 vans) we were checked in by a lovely young girl at reception. Our bay was extremely sandy and our travelling companion was supposed to be opposite us but wasn’t. He had a large van and when parked on his bay away from us, he encroached on the rear bay and his drawbar was on the edge of the road. When we looked, the men decided to go back to the office to see if he could move to a larger site. The young girl was trying to accomodate him and went to the back of the office to check with someone who then came down to the site and asked if this was ‘the problem van’ . As I was standing there minding my friends dog I said ‘yes it is’ . She said to me so what’s the problem’. I said we were worried about the length of the van encroaching etc. She then said take the bikes off and I replied we shouldn’t have to! I was then told she would refund my money. I didn’t want a refund. I also queried if the park had changed ownership and then things went from bad to worse……she again said I’ll refund your money and I said no thank you. The lady then said ‘wellstop your whinging’. I felt insulted and upset and it is definitely the last time we will visit this park! The park itself needs a big tidy up and some money spent on it. Big 4 for us and our friends next time. I just hope the lady in question reads this and understands she can’t speak to people like this as we are / were their clientele.…
Stayed for a week in January on a powered camp site. Lovely small park in great location on the river. Reception friendly and helpful. Negatives would be, toilets should be cleaned twice a day in peak season as they got quite dirty. Also, dogs welcome at this park but dog sites should be separate from other sites. Not everyone wants to camp with dogs! Sites also quite small.
Had 8 nights in our caravan here. Our site was small but shady thankfully as it was a very hot week. Many sites are very close together so bring ear plugs to drown out crying kids and early morning packing up noise. New toilet block is great, never had to wait for a shower. We did the river cruise & fish and chips which was a nice way to finish a hot day. Captain Paul was friendly, informative and humorous. Top location along the river/estuary and 2km walk to town. Will book again.
Nice park in a great spot. Heaps to do with kids, some improvements required on central facilities. Standout was the river cruise, absolutely worth it, a great evening! Skippered by Paul with Barry assisting we had a lovely evening cruise, lots of local info and a lovely atmosphere plus a super dinner at the cafe afterwards. Definitely recommend this location for travellers.
