The southern coast of Western Australia is where the forest meets the sea. It is unique. It is green. It is nature at its best. Tall stands of karri and tingle interspersed with verdant rolling hills sweep down to the most dramatic and picturesque coastline - an idyll providing many natural attractions. It is perhaps the prettiest place in Western Australia.

It’s really not easy to find accommodations offering a luxurious and soothing aspect at the same time. A real haven of peace. Jeanne has recently renovated everything and we can clearly say that she has taste!

The place is very pleasant, surrounded by nature, birds and the ocean. I had the pleasure of staying in the “Sanctuary” suite with a private balcony, a luxurious double spa bath, and a kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator. Not to mention the magnificent ocean view. What's more, the sun rises almost in front of us, which offers an incredible spectacle for early birds!

+ located Just 15 minutes from one of the best known and most loved spots. Elephants Rocks & Greens Pool! Isn't it amazing ?

The recently opened spa is absolutely perfect. Sauna, hammam, cold bath, Vichy shower, luxury products. I really loved my relaxation moment as well as my massage with essential oils. One of the best I've had (and I get a massage absolutely in every country I visit haha).

It’s possible to have your vehicle recharged, to bask in their swimming pool or even stroll through their magnificent gardens. There is always tea, coffee, fruit and small delicacies available.

Regarding the food, the breakfast is amazing, it’s included with your room. Granola, yogurt, pastries, apple and orange juice, fresh fruit, breads, various jams, etc. And for those who are rather salty (like me) it’s quite possible to order eggs Benedict, fried eggs, etc at an affordable price. For the evening, the Chimes Spa Retreat offers you their delicious platters (chicken, vegetables, seasonal dip, brie cheese, assortments of nuts, etc…) They also have a vegetarian platters and Gluten-free options available.

And for those who like to play, there is even a billiards, checkers, board games, books and a huge chessboard outside!

I really loved my staycation !

We had a two night stay at Chimes, on beautiful Mt. Shadforth Road, and it was truly enjoyable. We had the 'Ocean View' room which contained a very warm and comfortable King size bed, and I LOVED the complimentary toiletries which I enquired about as we were leaving . . and was able to purchase from them! The Continental breakfast on offer was excellent, including freshly made Bircher muesli and fruit compote, and although berries were out of season during our visit, the manager had obtained some frozen ones for me (special request) which was very much appreciated. A small choice of dishes for dinner was available on both nights, and although we had planned to eat out for both nights, we were so tired from all our sightseeing that we were very glad to take the opportunity of 'dining in'. The complimentary port served in front of the log fire after dinner was a convivial touch to share with other guests.

The only (slightly) negative comment I would make is that the reverse cycle aircon in our room did not heat the room, which was too cold for us to contemplate using the spa, sadly. However, I just hopped into bed and warmed up there. But overall, a lovely stay, and we would highly recommend Chimes Spa Retreat.

We stayed at the chimes spa retreat this weekend for our anniversary.
When we got there we were greeted by the lovely staff holding an umbrella for us so we could carry our bags in the rain.
As soon as we walked in we were inlove with the cosy warm fire ( where they supply free wine in the evenings and the breath taking views (where free breakfast is served each morning)
When we walked into our room they had made an anniversary gift for us with flowers, chocolates, a card, and champagne.
The staff let us cook a bbq on the deck, supplied us with utensils, and set up a candle lit table for us in the restaurant.
The grounds are beautiful and so are the staff.
The bed is so comfortable and the spa is wonderful.
They have a library where you can take board games and dvds to your room.
Only regret is not booking into the day spa!
Could not fault and we will be back ASAP.

Cons - the pictures on the website are deceiving - the pool is tiny with no seating around it. The room was very old, mouldy, smelt like glen 20, there was a lot of dead beetles and fly's on the carpet. The bed was just 2 single beds pushed together. We weren't shown where the spas were so assumed they were not available for guests who weren't paying for a spa service. The place needs to be renovated desperately.

Pros - good location, and the continental breakfast is nice and includes cereal and toast.

I took over Chimes Spa Retreat in February last year and renovated extensively. I am very sure that you will be surprised at the transformation. Please have a look at our new website.

The first photo on the website and the publicity brochure shows a beautiful indoor pool surrounded by tropical plants. This is what attracted me to Chimes, as I knew that Denmark is a cold place. Imagine my disappointment on arrival to discover that it was unheated. I feel that they are taking bookings under false pretences. we should receive a discount if all the advertised facilities are unavailable.

That said, I enjoyed a beautiful massage from Jennifer.

When travelling I like to self cater if possible. We knew that there was no microwave in the rooms at Chimes. However, there is a small kitchen near reception which guests can use. We only discovered this as we were leaving. More information at check-in would have been appreciated.

We adore visiting chimes spa retreat for the beautiful and serene scenery and the high end care we receive from the hostess and staff. Rooms are clean and spacious, they provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash, products straight from their day spa and bubble bath for your jacuzzi. In the morning they have a fresh and delicious selection of food for breakfast, during the day tea/coffee cakes are available and in the evening after 5pm you’re invited to drink a glass of port near the log fire all complimentary! some days we will even sit out on the front porch with a blanket and a book from their library while listening to the birds and kookaburras. Highly recommend.

Love to see when a new owner takes things to the next level.
We stayed for just two nights and were greeted by what felt like ‘old friends.’ The staff were so lovely and warm, even to the point where they joined us one night for a drink - it was great getting to know them.
You could see the work that had been put in by the new team and hearing about some of the future plans has us looking forward to our next visit - hard to believe they had only taken over in February.
This is certainly what you call a couples spa retreat. The rooms are well appointed, with some ‘interesting’ reflective choices (hence couple’s retreat 😉) The grounds are very well looked after and the views are just stunning. When we arrived we had every intention to go back and explore Denmark, however we couldn’t pull ourselves away from the deck’s view and the spa in the room.
Speaking of make sure you pamper yourself to a spa treatment on your stay, it was certainly another highlight of our trip.
Cannot wait to return later in the year.

We recently stayed for three nights. It has been obviously renovated in the last few years. Very nice layout. Very clean rooms. The bath was huge! I prefer a bath to a spa because I know they are easier to keep hygienic between guests. The view was nice and the grounds were big. Gardens for guests to use were well maintained. The breakfast was spot on! Perfect amounts of thoughtfully prepared food.

The only suggestion was that the TV didn’t face the bed, this is due to shape of the room. The tv could be mounted on a hinge so it swings out. That would be a nice addition.

Overall a lovely spot to unwind as a couple

100% recommend anyone who is looking for a relaxing couples retreat.
This was just such an amazing place to stay and the staff were lovely. The included breakfast was great and to overlook the view each morning was a bonus.
Will be back.

Stayed 2 nights at Chimes Spa Retreat. It is located about 5 mins drive away from Denmark town centre. It is located next to a cow farm where you can see them grazing before you pull your vehicle in to the retreat.

It has only 10 rooms. To avoid disappointment you are encouraged to book early. The rooms have been fully refurbished to cater to the most discerning travellers, with modern amenities and stylish deco, top with an oversized couple bathtub.

The retreat has some parking facilities (complimentary), spa treatment, a pool (seems that it was closed during our visit) and some beautiful parrots which they will come to be fed early in the morning.

The surrounding is peaceful and tranquil. A perfect getaway.
