Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My fiancé and I went here for dinner on the 10/02/2024 while on our honeymoon. The staff were so friendly. Service was amazing. We were allowed to take our dog into the beer garden and they even set a bowl of water up by the table we booked for our pup. Food was delicious and the cocktails were amazing and not a strong taste of alcohol. Highly recommend this place.

Dropped in for a cooling drink after a hot drive. Very mixed review, but honest as a paying customer Partner likes an Aperol Spritz..the pleasant surprise was they were only $14. Pretty good value for a non happy hr price. The bad and very disappointing news is that a schooner of Tonic line and bitters was $9... pretty much for a soft drink. That's very very ordinary. Talk about take advantage of a designated driver. 1 drink and we move on, and won't be back

Thanks for your feedback. A tonic, lime and bitters is mixed fresh for you, served in nice glassware over ice and with a fresh lime garnish. It takes about the same time for our staff to prepare as an Aperol spritz, but is cheaper due to the lack of alcohol. We do have cheaper soft drinks on offer if that was what you were after, such as a can of coke for $3.50 or a coffee for $4.50, or complimentary water.

Had a meal with my family from Mandurah. The place is under new management and has been revamped. I had the kangaroo followed by a delicious sticky fig and ginger pudding. Yum. I believe that the accommodation is in the process of being revamped.

Don’t expect good food here. Although the meals come out looking good they are definitely cutting corners. Their premium fish is mushy basa and the pork belly was just strips of fat with no actual pork. What a shame.

The staff were friendly and accommodating (I am GF). The meals are huge! And the food is real and freshly prepared. But also served in a timely manner. Good value and no frills. Great for a country trip where you want to eat out with friends without breaking g the bank. The staff put the footy on as well. Recommend.

We were the only customers in a large bar. After serving us drinks, the only barmaid completely ignored us. We definitely didn’t feel welcome and won’t return. Such a pity as it looks like a beautiful, old pub. Let’s hope this pub hires friendly staff so that people return.

I'm not one to post public comment on food experiences preferring to let an establishment know our feedback directly. But when their web contact email address bounces back twice there's telling how they care about receiving feedback. Our meal Thursday night at the crown hotel was substandard. After waiting for close to 40mins for my curry dish, it arrived at the table luke warm, I asked that it be microwaved and it took at least another 15 mins for it to be returned. The food was ok but it lost its appeal. Five minutes later my wife's fish of the day arrived (so she waited an hour) and it was overcooked and the sauce also luke warm, vegetables not hot. Many of the group had ok meals, so it wasn't all bad, but my wife and I paid $64.00 for a terrible food experience. I don't expect to hear from them, as they didn't publish a working email address but maybe they can provide this feedback to the chef, who according to the barmaid felt delivery of those poor quality meals wasn't his fault. The excuse from the chef was that the hotel was busier than expected. I trust the chef takes this good meaning feedback as a challenge to have more pride in the future and deliver consistent quality meals for hotel patrons (irrespective of how busy the kitchen becomes). We dined at the Crown on Saturday night and the food was delicious. My wife had the chicken scallopini and struggled to finish it as the serve was so large and I could not finish my chicken Parmi for the same reason. Good honest home cooked meals. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommended.

Anyone after a good feed in Collie DO NOT go to the Crown hotel, we just had a dinner there with 4 families spending over $500 in food alone and were very unimpressed, we have been there many times before and never had a problem but tonight was appalling, we had mains arriving before the kids had been all given there meals, mains coming before entrees, cold steaks coming out and not like just warm there were cold, dry chewy steak in the curry, and salad that arrived after everyone had finished eating and then the last of 4 entrees arrived, we had complained a few times to see the people serving the meals who got very snappy about the entrees not coming out and we complained to the server behind the bar and were not only not given a refund or discount but not even an apology and when asked to speak to the manager we were told they were new and they didn’t even bother coming to talk to us, super unimpressed and now will no long recommend them to anyone we know or anyone at work.
