I'll start with the negative - we called 2 days in advance (via a satellite phone!) to advise and confirm check in details as we would not make it to the property before 5pm. We were informed this wouldn't be a problem and to use the radio on arrival - when we did arrive just before 7pm, the lovely and helpful Riya answered the radio and said she would be there in a few minutes to check us in as she knew we had rung ahead, however she was cut off by the manager/owner Marty who said he would come in "5 minutes but I should take 2 hours" - when he arrived we were told "if we can't make it on time we may as well have not bothered coming". I was in shock at the rudeness of this greeting. I understand there are office hours but you are also running an accommodation service and should have procedures in place for after hours check ins as all places do. To be told we may as well have not come made us feel incredibly unwelcomed and soured our stay. In addition, it is school holidays and everywhere is booked out so where did he expect us to stay? - we stayed in the stockmen's rooms. Comfortable, good shared kitchen facilities but no method of locking the rooms so didn't feel comfortable leaving valuables in there. Positives - the backpacker staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - beautiful location, many beaches to explore and lovely sunsets

Dear 977samw, thanks for sharing your feedback. I apologise on behalf of everyone at Warroora Station. Please know that your situation was an exception and it was very unlike Marty to be unwelcoming, and we’ll do better in the future. We are glad to hear that you still enjoyed your stay at the Stockmen’s room. Safe travels.

Wow! What an awesome place! Thoroughly enjoyed our 11 night stay whilst exploring the pristine beaches... surfing, fishing, whale watching, snorkeling, birds and more birds. Hot showers, flushing toilets in brand new ammenities block to make off-grid camping in our caravan easy. Management staff super nice and helpful! Would highly recommend and will definitely stay longer next time.

We spent two nights and the facilities were excellent, the information we received from Dean was spot on especially beaches and roads. Dean was always willing to assistant had time for a chat, toilets and showers were very clean and the beachs were amazing and we heard about recent sighting of whale migration from Jim, camp host at Elles Beach. Just remember to let you tyres down to around 25PSI to assist with corrigated road, not too bad really. We will be back and suggested to other travellers to visit too.
