Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you want to build family memories that your kids will always remember then get away from Perth and spend time is this beautiful place. Yes the roads are bumpy, and the dirt is red but all the non luxuries add to what makes these holidays so precious. The water was clear and full of fish, eels, rays and turtles. We caught and ate beautiful fish, we 4WD to places where we surfed and swan with no one else in site. We did day trips to Red Bluff and Gnarloo which were pretty busy but loved the pizza and open mic night which was simply fab! The sunset drinks each night by the ocean were stunning, sometimes windy and sometimes the waves were huge but you always watching the water and guaranteed to see whales jumping out beyond as they pass by. The nights are spent sitting by the fire telling stories and playing games. The Meecham family were the perfect hosts and worked tirelessly making sure, everyone has what they need, the showers and toilets are clean and fire lit early in the afternoon to give everyone a hot shower. Will be back for more adventures.

We were lucky enough to get a camping spot with a beach view rather than a power site. Other than super windy up there, we loved it. We stayed for 4 nights all up and would have stayed longer. Super clean and very nice bathroom set up - salt water to shower in
Lovely owners who are very helpful
The beach is full of shells to explore and if your lucky enough you might spot a whale too

What a week. 5 couples 4 boys

We had a great stay in the Shearer’s Qtrs. Basic accom and shared ablutions (very clean) - we had a few visitors 🐁 as a mice plague occurred after heavy rains which resulted in some unbelievable laughs & giggles. A couple of bats 🦇 added to our humour but we take this in our stride.

The dining area was perfect for our large group which we played mini ping pong, games and a jigsaw (perfect).

Have to travel to beaches but we’ll worth it. Snorkelling at Aquarium, shells galore & 2 Mile beach @ Gnaraloo is best snorkelling reef, and you must drive in those to view the spectacular and rugged coast line. Sunsets amazing!

Hints: Take plenty food, we took fresh water but rainwater available. power limited to 10 hrs per day

Betty & Bob are the best caretakers. Thanks Tim & Sara for a great week.

Stayed at the Long Cottage, very basic, had to start our own fire under the hot water system to have a shower, lucky it wasn't raining. No power points in the room we had, so couldn't run devices or charge phones, no communal area outside to sit and chat, had a mouse in the kitchen, beds comfortable enough and bathroom clean but overall not very impressed and will never visit again. Also, if you need to keep more than a couple of kilos of fish food or fish frozen make sure you take your own generator or battery backup as power is limited to a few hours a day.

We have travelled all over Australia and the world and have never stayed anywhere so unprofessionally run. I know that it's a working station but if you are asking paying customers to stay, you have to make more of an effort. $40.00 a night for a powered site that trips out when you try and boil a kettle is not good service or value for money. There's quite a bit more I could say but I will leave it to you to read the other reviews.
If you choose to go. Only pay for one night as you will not get a refund.

I don't totally blame the owners or managers as many operations such as this have no marketing of hospitality experience.

If you can surmise from this review I have not recommended this destination or will I ever.

We didn't think the Quobba Station looked much as we drove in, but we were wrong. We found a tent site as much out of the wind as we could, there's lots of space. The camp kitchen, toilets and showers were very good, a bit distant from our chosen site so we didn't use the camp kitchen. The nearby waves were amazing, we loved hearing them at night. We appreciated being able to buy an ice cream in the very limited shop. Nearest town is Carnarvon, the station is quite isolated, great for fishing it seems, we walked a bit, also drove further along the rather rutted road to see more amazing coastline and waves. We had a lovely relaxing time there.

We had booked basic accommodation at Quobba in June 2022 at $100 pn for April 2023 dates that clash around Solar eclipse dates (unrelated to our trip!!).
December 2022 we received a message from the management that we now had to 50% more ($150 pn) for the accommodation.
After staying at Quobba on regularly over the years, this is a great disappointment & an absolute money grab & greed by them.
They used the excuse that they needed to ‘increase managment’ with larger number of campers for the Exmouth eclipse. One big lie!!
If the increase was 10% - 20%, then we would have gladly stayed & paid, but 50%, as mentioned, is total greed.

Needless to say we will never stay there again, but rather drive a bit further north to Gnaraloo where we receive great hospitality form the management team there.

Recharge the batteries!!!!
Our stay at quobba was beyond words to be honest.
From the booking process through to departure Betty and the staff far exceeded our expectations and were so very informative and accommodating.
We arrived at Quobba after several long days in the car and completely felt relaxed and at home within a short time. We were lucky to stay in the North Chalet and truly enjoy the surrounds. The chalets are set up fully as well as to still allow privacy even if at full capacity from neighbours.
This stay was absolutely perfect.

Betty was so helpful with getting us set up with our powered camp site and even lent us an extension cable. Score! She also went to the effort to make extra space for us which made our stay even more special. She also recommends cheese and wine every afternoon being the secret to successful and happy 50 year marriages, too funny! Thanks again Betty :)

Have been staying at Quobba Station "Outcamp" on an annual basis for nearly 10 years now & love everything about it. It is a working station so this is not, nor meant to be, luxury accommodation. Some areas are understandably off limits for station work or dune rehab but watching the activity adds extra interest. The coastline is spectacular & Pt Quobba perfect for snorkeling, swimming & just laying around. The homestead beaches are perfect for walking & watching the sunsets. We don't fish but know how hugely popular the station is for those who do. The facilities are perfectly maintained & clean & there's been a wonderful upgrade to the camp kitchen. The owners, Tim, Sara & family are always hospitable, helpful & care for the environment. In the past few years, workers/caretakers, Betty & Bob, have proved friendly, equally helpful & hard working. We'd like to keep the place a secret but that's impossible. We go here for the peace & quiet, the simple life, to get away from it all & closer to nature - perfect! Thanks Quobba!

Are there fish cleaning facilities on site or should we bring our own filleting table?

Quobba is easily accessible and would be just fine in your Mazda. We also have a Mazda CX-5 at home so can recommend. Quobba is fantastic but we never saw chalets only camping sites. Have a great trip.

Hi there, thanks for your question. It was my first trip to this amazing area and it is truly special. I don't have the answer but suggest that you go to their website. They have accomodation at the homestead and they also have a campground at Red Bluff. I am sure they would be happy to discuss the best options. Have a great holiday😊. Ps take snorkelling gear. The Ningaloo Marine Park is pristine. Kindest regards Jacki.
