This is a true wilderness retreat and a great experience. Just outside of the Fitzgerald River NP, solar powered and dedicated to nature, there is a variety of accommodation and a fascinating history.. We were in a block with four 2 person units. We have done many wild flower trails but the one Karin and Carsten have created is amazing... More

Dear Karin and Carsten, we were surprised how nice, clean and cousy you have built up your place. Having travelled half the world, we have seen our share of wilderness retreats where you are more or less forced to sleep with lots of insects inside your cabin. To see that there is actually a different way... We stayed two nights... More

Carsten and Karin have created a true wilderness retreat and I can commend their work over the last 12 years in making this place a real treasure. The location is relatively accessible. Only 9km of well maintained unsealed road - accessible by all cars. If you drive in on a warm sunny morning please take care of the the lizards... More

We had a wonderful couple of days staying at Quaalup Homestead. Hosts Karin and Carsten were very friendly and helpful. The drive to Point Ann enabled us to see whales and dolphins; the setup there is great. Wildflowers abound in this fantastic season, not only in the Point Ann area, but also on the numerous walks round the Homestead. Quaalup... More

Our first stay here was by accident, but we so enjoyed it, we came back with a group of friends. Karin & Carsten made us all very welcome. We had delicious candle lit dinners in the Homestead. Karin is a wonderful cook. It's a truly unique experience, staying amongst the wildlife and historical buildings. Great walks through the bush with... More

Looking for accommodation in Fitzgerald national park, Quaalup homestead sounded very nice. What a dump - basically a shack with a shower / toilet attached and a little cook top. Managed to kill all the mozzies before bed. Glad we could only book 1 night. Our own fault for expecting more for $120 a night- CASH ONLY- wonder if the... More

Dear Frank S- This review leaves us nearly speechless and shocked. We wonder if Mr Frank confused our lovely place with somewhere else. Usually guests love it here, tell us so and often return! Me and my partner owning and running Quaalup Homestead since 13 years, we are constantly looking into ways how to give our guests the most comfortable... More

Came here for the spring wildflower experience and certainly glad we did. The setting is exquisite and Karen and Karsten have paid great attention to providing well illustrated walks. All power comes from the sun so guests are encouraged to use as little of it as possible, which is fine by most happy campers. We were in a cabin which,... More

Quaalup Homestead is magical. Dinner by candlelight, a beautifully laid table, a roaring fire, and food to delight the eye and the palate. I was bowled over by the care and helpfulness of Karin and Carsten. They shared their knowledge, and binoculars. The accommodation is comfortable and well thought out, everything necessary was to hand. To sit on the terrace... More
