It's the little details that set this place apart... Fresh flowers in a vase, quality soft bed sheets and crisp white bath towels. Not a cobweb or speck of dust in sight. We love nature but also love it clean indoors and this place ticked all the boxes! We stayed two nights but will extend our stay next time to soak up the beauty and peace.

We took advantage of a special 'couples getaway' for a week in the stunningly beautiful Balingup Heights cottage called 'Misty View'. The view from the cottage was breathtaking, high on the hill, seen from inside the cottage with the picture windows and even better from the deck, looking over the valley. We saw mists in the morning, clouds across the valley, beautiful green fields with cows, sheep, their friendly alpaca, gorgeous sunsets, and watched the kangaroos, kookaburras, 28s, magpies, fairy wrens and silvereyes in the trees. We slept deeply while the rain danced on the tin roof, and the fire kept us toasty warm. We were impressed with the quality of the cottage - roomy bathroom with walk in show, great pressure and hot water was almost immediate. The bed was a queen size pillow top with good quality pillows and doona etc. wood and kindling was provided and the kitchenette included hot plates, microwave, under bench fridge, slow cooker and a rice cooker. The breakfast hamper was included in our booking and included eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomato, bread, butter, milk, fruit, orange juice, jam, vegemite and muesli! We also ordered the gourmet platter for when we arrived and this was delicious and well worth the money. Little extra touches were appreciated- binoculars, TV, cushions, tea, coffee & sugar in cannisters, cooking oil, salt and pepper, and a bbq on the deck, which meant we could be fairly self sufficient. We cooked breakfast most mornings before going out somewhere for lunch, then had dinner at 'home', where it was warm and comfortable. Balingup is a small, very pretty town, and we took advantage of how close it was to Bridgetown and Donnybrook to go somewhere different every day. We also visited the impressive Golden Valley Tree Park, and would recommend Donnybrook IGA and The local Donnybrook butcher, Blackwood Emporium for chocolate and an amazing High Tea, Bridgetown Hotel, The Cidery, and FATS (Food Art Toys Santa)! There were other places to visit which we're saving until the next time, because we had such a relaxing, wonderful time.

We absolutely loved every aspect of our stay. The cottages were perfect for a family of 4 (and can accommodate an extra child easily too). They were kitted out with everything we needed. There is only a few cottages on the property and they were all a nice distance away from each other, so you mostly felt you had the place to yourself. And what a view!!! It was wet and cold during our stay, and the cottage was easy to warm up either with the fire or the reverse cycle AC. The kids (7yo and 9yo) played endlessly outside, rain or shine, and loved the animal feeding every morning. They also had a ball picking persimmons and chestnuts (and eating them both too)! Balingup itself is a great little town, and you're not far away from many day trips. Lastly, Brian and Deb were amazing hosts.

The magic Cottages are beautifully situated on top of high hills. You can almost touch the sky from there. Embraced by nature of the surrounding forest, that has so many hidden wonderful surprises, you can breath deeply and relax.
The Cottages are immaculate in each and every detail. Wooden internal walls and floors, rustic, country style furniture, spacious, wooden balconies with leather sofas, tables and chairs to have a peaceful meal outside and to enjoy the views during siesta on very comfortable sofa.
Everything is so clean and fresh. Kitchen is equipped with everything you may need even in long term stay; there is a fridge full of fresh food and basket of goodies left by generous and very kind Hosts Deb and Brian, there is everything there for breakfast and dinner and there is also a voucher for lunch to nearby restaurant. Bed is so amazingly comfortable, modern bathroom with instant hot water all the time, huge windows in living room overlooking the Balingup Valley and the hills. There is a quite substantial distance between cottages all owing privacy and quiet time, there are just whispers of trees and tranquil birds songs. Good fun is included as well: kookaburras were coming every evening, 7.20PM sharp, we had a good laugh together.
I stayed in this Magic Place for 3 nights, just by myself, hiking for hours in the forest and near by hills. What a fantastic holiday! I will be back there soon.

Lovely place to go and switch off from the noise of the rest of the world. We had a lovely family stay for 4 nights in September. Cottage was clean and had everything we needed including games and DVDs for the kids, the welcome basket was delicious. Kids most enjoyed the daily animal feeding. Deb and Brian are such welcoming hosts and the location of the property is close to so many attractions and an easy drive away from donnybrook, bussleton, manjimup and Bridgetown. I highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed in Blythe Cottage and was the 1st time coming to stay at Balingup Heights. Apon arrival we were greated by Deb instructing us of the property and cottages. We then went to our cottage and as soon as you walk in the door it feels so homely and was spotlessly clean. Turn around after viewing this beautiful cottage to a window that looks over the best view over the town of Balingup. Our stay here we felt like we were on top of the world as we were up so high. The weather was wet and cold but that made the views more spectacular and we were kept toasty warm by the tile fire in our room.
We visited Bridgetown and looked through their gorgeous little shops. Had a beautiful lunch at The Cidery. Visited the mine at Greenbushes and had a great meal at the Shamrock Hotel. We will definitely return to this little piece of paradise which we left feeling totally relaxed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay at Misty View and the second visit was just as good. This time we had the 3 day break with the $50.00 Cidery Voucher and the Breakfast Hamper which was amazing! The 3 day stay package is very good value.

The cottage is clean, in good condition and nice and warm as it has reverse cycle aircon and a wood burning stove with wood, kindling, and firelighters all included. We did not need the electric blanket.

One day we stayed in all the time in the warm and read books (there is a good selection of holiday reading provided), and another day we went to Nannup, Bridgetown for lunch, and explored Balingup itself. You can also ramble round Balingup Heights to your hearts content if you want to.

The hosts are very friendly and helpful. and we will certainly be visiting again when we can. All in all it is a great place to go to relax and de-stress - there is no wifi thank goodness!

Highly recommend this accommodation, it really is one of a kind! There are beautiful views wherever you look as the property is perched on top of a hill.

Toddler animal feeding sessions are held most days which gives them exposure to farm life and animals and also entertains them for an hour or so!

Close to Balingup town which is very convenient, the cabins are very, very comfortable and well designed and the hosts are welcoming with great communication skills.

Even the booking ease adds to the experience. We had to postpone our original trip sadly due to all getting Covid and really appreciated the flexibility in changing the dates to months later when it suited us again. No pressure to accept certain dates and all done in a friendly manner which makes you feel less guilty about having to reschedule.

Thanks again Deb and Brian :)

This is a true gem of a place. The cottages are secluded and offers an amazing view. They are self-contained so you have everything you need that makes it really feel like a home away from home. The lookout offers a sensational view across the valley.

The property has an abundance of wildlife, with paths to stroll along among the trees. The kids absolutely loved feeding the farm animals and they were so excited to be able to collect the fresh eggs to take back to cottage and cook them for breakfast.

A truly wonderful place to stay to feel far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and to experience an authentic country feel.

The hospitality of Deb & Brian was second to none and we’d highly recommend this place.

Thank you, Deb and Brian, we will be back 😊

Thanks for taking the time to post such a generous review. Our hilltop forest and the seclusion of each of the cottages does provide the opportunity to get away from it all...and be hugged by nature. And we love our morning animal feeding...it's always terrific to see the joy on the children's faces when they take home something as simple as a fresh egg! Thank you once again and we look forward to welcoming you and your family back.

Our third time at Balingup Heights Hilltop Cabins and again experienced a very comfortable, relaxing stay. Our favourite cabin is Misty View with a beautiful view over the town and valley. The inclusion of a breakfast hamper and voucher for lunch at The Cidery Bridgetown, is excellent value. Deb and Brian are very friendly hosts.

Yes, Balingup has a cafes and nearby Donnybrook a very good supermarket with everything you could want. There's also a pub/tavern down the road from the cottages. If you arrive late you can ask the owner to leave you a breakfast basket - ours was lovely. I hope that helps!

Hi, The best option would be Hepton Hill and Gum Nut Cottages. These are both on the same side of our hill and only about 80mt from each other. Full details can be found here on our website, under the Cottages tab. So you have your own privacy in each cottage but it's only a small stroll between. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have nay further questions. Kind regards - Deb & Brian
