First impressions was at check in when welcomed by the wonderful owners Terri and Dirk, we were personally guided to our ensuite powered site. We were extremely fortunate to of had one of the two newly renovated ensuite. The pool was fantastic to swim in lovely and warm, a brand new jumping pillow has been installed for the kids right next to the pool area. The camp kitchen and bbq area had everything you could need.

I stayed here on 26/04/2020 for one night in a double motel room. The room was clean and tidy. Check in was quick and easy. A cook it yourself breakfast can be ordered for the next day. The Cabins looked great. The property has a pool, a kitchen, and reading room. I spent a good amount of time chatting with Terri who was polite and interesting. She introduced me to the parks dog who was very friendly. Would recommend this property if you are looking for country friendliness at a reasonable price.

We headed up to Maryborough for a weekend away with our 3 kids and 14 week old puppy and couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. The cabin was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The kids loved their room with the bunks and said it felt like a cubby house. The cabin had everything we needed for a great weekend away. The pool was absolutely divine - perfect temperature. The kids loved swimming and playing on the big bouncing pillow and the play equipment. We had a bbq dinner over at the camp kitchen one night which was enjoyable. The camp kitchen had every we needed! Terri and Dirk were extremely friendly and welcoming and we look forward to staying again in the near further - for longer next time! Thanks again!

Hi Jacinta, It is lovely that you took the time to pop in a review. Sorry it's taken so long to respond, I'm still getting used to all the places our guests put reviews on. Thanks for the compliment on the swimming pool. We had someone go for a dip yesterday (Middle of August) so the pool is always ready for the hardiest of swimmers. We look forward to seeing you again, Terri and Dirk

A very bad experience overall. A whole lot of miscommunications. Based on what we saw on their website, it was a right fit for us as our family is not fully vaccinated. Arrived there after 3 hours of drive with 2 very tired children, to be told they cannot accommodate us due to our vaccination status.
After some process and appeal the lady reluctantly agreed to give us the room but she then said we couldn't use any facilities like cooking or the playground! In the end we decided to return home.
Their covid policy doesn't say they don't accept not fully vaccinated guests!
She seemed to be under a lot of stress, and her communication with us was unpleasant to say the least – much could be said about that! Maybe she would benefit from a good holiday, and it would have been better if she was able to adopt the “customer first” axiom of any 101 hospitality and communication course!

dear setarehr2018, it iwould seem that you were unaware of the VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS in relation to the communal areas in caravan parks. We did not make these rules up, they were dictated to us by the Government. If we were to break those regulations, the fine was $110,000 for businesses. If you caould have put that cash on the table, we would still not have considered breaking the rules for every other guest in our park. Yes, COVID 19 lock downs were very stressful not just to us, but the whole business world. it is unfortunate that you wsere unable to appreciate the complexities and nuances of the Government regulations imposed on us along with the rest of the world. please have a lovely day

We really enjoyed or three nights at Golden Country Caravan Park. Our cabin was clean and a good size for our family. The camp kitchen with gas pizza oven was handy for our group to eat in and the kids loved the pool!

My husband, myself our 2yr old dog and 6mnth old kitten stayed in our old motorhome. Terri and Dirk very welcoming the whole complex is clean and anyone staying there respect each others privacy and are quiet but friendly.
All sites are ensuites to my delight. The bus stop at the front door and club across the road, but we didnt get a chance to go over.
Only left to come back to melb for an appointment, was going back for another week but floods changed that
BUT TERRI WE WILL BE BACK at some stage.
Stay safe..Diane and Helmut

I have a guide dog and it was wonderful to be welcomed warmly. The cabin was very clean and had all the things we needed. Plus it was quite a hot day and being able to start 2 x air conditioners meant that we could cool the place down quickly and then switch one off. Easy place to stay. It was very quiet too.

We have stayed in many motels, some good, some bad, but most do the basics quite well.
The good:
Room was smallish but reasonably well set out.
Bed Comfy
Good location
Showers hot after a short delay
Nice dining table/chairs
The not so good:
With 2 guests you usually get enough for both. It was strange to find just 1 face washer/flannel in the bathroom.
Extremely tight parking spaces that inconvenience other patrons as well.
Noisy patrons talking outside as late as 11pm
You need to ask for tea/coffee???
Lack of friendliness feeling
Low sofa...this is getting more common in motels
Glitchy tv reception
Just improving some of the small things could make a huge difference to review ratings.

Hi Bob M, thanks for your feedback, we appreciate that you took the time to give us some great detail. We have now purchased "make-up remover" face washers, so we add this to each room now, with the standard white one. We inherited the tight parking spaces, and unfortunately, cannot change this. We apologise for the late night noise, we do ask all our guests to be quiet after 10pm. Due to COVID restrictions we were advised to provide guests with tea and coffee at check in. We are back to supplying these in the rooms again. We are purchasing new armchairs and sofas for the motel rooms and cabins, but as you can imagine, this is a WIP. Again, thanks for your feedback, regards, Terri and Dirk

We had a 1 night stay in one of the motel rooms. The rooms are older rooms but they are spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Tea, coffee, Milk, Biscuits, Microwave, Kettle, Toaster all supplied. Also mugs!!!! Not the tiny little tea cups you usually get. The beds were very comfortable. But the best part of this accommodation are the people running it. I had a very silly moment on the way there and rang the owners and then realised my silly mistake. Terri had a bottle of wine waiting on the counter for me because I think she realised my brain was a bit frazzled. Thankyou for making my day! And our stay enjoyable. Totally recommend and will defintely go back.

We stayed in one of the motel rooms. Linen, towels etc were nice. Room had a fridge with microwave on top, kettle and toaster on top of that - no bench/table apart from the one where the TV was. Appliance in a bathroom doesn't seem super safe. Understand that the room is due for refurb but it still wasn't ideal. Another peeve is the kettle not fitting under the tap in the bathroom. To fill the kettle, you could turn on the shower, over fill the kettle and lose half the water (silly when there are signs to save water) or tip it in from the coffee mug. Also, no cereal bowls/spoons provided (not everyone eats toast). Wi-fi was dodgy at times. Handy location to pop over to the Gold Club for lunch, coffee or dinner. Owners were happy to give us a late check out.

Dear westyf2022, thank you so much for taking the time to pop in a review. We value your honesty and feedback, and yes we agree, the room is in need of a refurb. Unfortunately, we had to replace the fridge urgently, and we could find no fridge that fit under the existing shelves so they had to be removed. We will be replacing the shelf, so that the microwave, toaster and kettle can be used next to each other as we cannot do a complete refurb just yet. We have now placed bottles of filtered water in the fridge that can be used to fill the kettle. When we do the refurb, we will obviously look into different taps for the bathroom to easily fill the kettle. We have also placed bowls in the motel rooms based on this feedback.Thank you again for your feedback, it helps us to improve our service, take care, Terri and Dirk
