We recently booked a group holiday for 13 adults, two dogs and one child at the Homestead and Creek Cottage. It was the best holiday we've had for a long time! The Homestead - Every piece of furniture in there was an antique and oh so beautiful and well preserved. We felt like we were living back in the 1800's which was quite a novelty for us. - The Homestead has very spacious common areas like the lounge, 2 large dining areas and a very well equipped kitchen (lots of crockery, cutlery, wine glasses, mugs, etc.) that is great for a large group. Because every area is so spacious, we never felt like that was no room to move around. We could have 6-7 people in the kitchen and would not bump into each other. Yes, it is that big! FYI there's also a pod coffee machine in the kitchen if you need a coffee fix. - The Homestead has 6 rooms and could fit 15 adults comfortably (we had 11 staying there). All the beds were super comfy, linen was clean, and every room had a fireplace (although we were not sure if they were decorative or still in working order). - There are 3 good sized bath rooms / toilets so no one had to queue (LOL) - There are 2 fridges which came in handy, one in the kitchen and the other near the spa which we used for drinks. - Oh and the spa... it was great to take a dip after a day out & about. TIP: If you wish to use it, turn it on first thing you arrive so that it gets up to temperature (needs a good 5-6 hours or more as it's a large spa!) - If you love gardening, you will love the Homestead's lush English garden. So many happy butterflies & bees and look out for the occasional skinks too (so cute!). - There's a decent sized BBQ which is great to whip up a quick meal. Creek Cottage - Creek Cottage is 10 steps across from the Homestead's lawn and id the perfect sized accommodation for us (a couple) and our dog. - Bed was huge and super comfy, clean linen, comfortable pillows... could not fault. - The dining area overlooks the creek so it was lovely to have a meal while enjoying nature at the same time (wild ducks, cockatoos, blue wrens, etc.) - Big bathroom with everything you'd expect in a hotel. - Well equipped kitchen with all the amenities and a pod coffee machine. We had both ovens cranking one night and got food out very quickly. - There is also a baby Webber at the Cottage which was handy. Overall comment - Accommodation was top notch and exactly what we were looking for in a country getaway. Loved the old world charm and the fact that it is pet-friendly was a bonus! - Our host Sarah was absolutely lovely to deal with and nothing was too difficult that she couldn't assist with. She was very accommodating and prompt with queries. Kept us up-to-date right up to the day of our arrival. First class service all the way! - Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend this place to family and friends.

We had a lovely stay at the Homestead with our 3 year-old son and new baby. The historic homestead is beautifully appointed with high ceilings, lots of natural light and a very functional kitchen. The homestead is surrounded by roses. It's a working farm with a lot of history, sheep, cattle - and my husband spotted a platypus in the creek. A great getaway from the city where you can admire majestic gums and a full sky of stars at night. Highly recommended for large groups or more intimate trips away. Charles and Sarah are wonderful hosts who can tell you a lot about the farm and its history.

12 of us have just had a very enjoyable 3 day weekend at this beautiful old Homestead, which is ideal for self catering. Set in a beautiful heritage garden we were entertained by abundant bird-life. Walking alongside the beautiful creek some of us were lucky enough to spot a platypus.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderfully relaxing time. The space was perfectly functional and the surroundings were peaceful. We were able to cook onsite and it's only a 10 minute drive to Maryborough.

Our group of 8 love the homestead & Lochinver hospitality so much that we have made an annual pilgrimage for several years. It is so well appointed, tastefully decorated with loads of character & every creature comfort you could want! Even the linen is quality grade, & Alison & the family are very accommodating with any reasonable requests!

Located 15 minutes out of Maryborough (a $30 taxi ride), we had an overnight stay with friends in the Blue wren cottage which was one of several cottages available on the farm. The owners were certainly not intrusive and in fact we never saw them; but rest assured that if anything was required or you had a query they were only a phone call away. We had everything at our fingertips and only wish that we could have stayed longer. Our friends were equally impressed and even talking about coming back for a longer relaxing stay next time we are town ! There are a number of walks around the farm including one we enjoyed along the edge of the river. Those river gums are truly magnificent. Watch out for snakes. ( I did see one! ) Breakfast supplied included a fresh feast including home made marmalade, muesli, condiments, eggs, dairy and enough to feed 6 people; just what the doctor ordered! Thanks Alison for all your assistance and ensuring that all our needs were met. Our group would highly recommend Lochinver and can’t wait to return.

We decided to go on a last minute getaway to Lochinver. Alison the owner was so accommodating, she arranged a stay in their beautiful and quaint Blue Wren Cottage with only a days notice. We arrived at their property in the late evening and the heater was on in the cottage, which instantly made for a cozy night in. We had a very comfortable nights sleep - even our 3 month old slept well! We woke to tranquil views of the farm, great coffee and tasty breakfast provisions. I appreciated the plentiful towels, hot shower and quality toiletries. I can highly recommend staying at Lochinver, it’s central Victoria’s best kept secret!

Our company have used Lochinver Farm for an extended period 2018 and enjoyed both the attention owner gave and the detail of the accommodation. The farm accommodated up to 10 people at a time for the company and usually at a moments notice. Cleaning is regular and the facilities are a close drive to Carisbrook and Maryborough. Parking is good - we had up to 8 cars and a small truck with us; the farm is far away from the main highway so security was no issue. The farmstead is a great old building with many references to a rich farm history (love the awards on the walls), the small cottage available has a wrap around balcony that is fully netted to allow for many late night musings with staff. Beds were good and rooms were large enough for staff to retreat to every night. Overall a great accommodation experience that I would utilise again.

Blue Wren cottage was a lovely place to spend a quiet relaxing long weekend. Comfy bed, very clean and set in a beautiful historic farm. It was great to stroll along the banks of Tullaroop Creek with its lovely old red gums. And I loved wandering around the old farm buildings. Allison is very friendly and a wonderful host. thanks again for a lovely weekend. Peter & Melissa
