This is the second time we have visited and it was even better than we remembered. Kim and Wendy are excellent hosts. The property is beautiful and a great place just to sit down and look at the views. The garden is awesome, and the very friendly dog and ducks kept our kids entertained. It is also very nice to be able to pick fresh veggies and herbs to cook with. I would thoroughly recommend and we will definitely visit again.

We were on a driving holiday and looking for comfortable farm-stay accommodation, close to town for a couple of days. Girra girra exceeded all out expectations. Our only reservation in recommending it, is that more people will find out about it and it'll get harder to book on our return trips. But other than that, it is in a gorgeous setting, among beautiful gardens. Its modern and very well appointed (red gum timber throughout), has everything you need in a self contained apartment - is very spacious and very comfortable. Ideal for couples or families. Wendy provides fresh eggs and sourdough an other goodies for breakfast and Pete-the-dog is on hand to help out wherever possible. Forbes is a lovely, picturesque and there is plenty to keep you occupied in the local district, but honestly, it is just as easy to sit on the lounge, read a book and soak in the view. For the more active there's a couple of bikes and track to explore and an impressive giant goanna (one of the "Sculptures Down the Lachlan" installations), just down the road. Can't recommend this highly enough and we will return

Well, this is our second visit in 4 months! Decided to stay 3 nights this time, for we simply love it here. The hosts, Wendy and Kim, are simply superlative people. The place is very well appointed in every respect. The pantry has local olive oil, salt and pepper grinders, Girragirra cultured butter (the best I’ve ever had), homemade yoghurt, milk, eggs, cereals of various types and home made jams etc. Every morning at 7:30, freshly squeezed orange juice and wonderful home baked sourdough bread is placed in a basket and left on your porch. One can pick their greens, fruit and veg from their garden - all seasonal and lovely. We love this place and will return again...we totally get our “urban detox” here. Wifi is included. We stock-up on meat and drink so that we don’t have to leave...but if you can’t be bothered, Forbes is a 5 minute drive away and has all the shops you need. Geez, almost forgot to mention that they have a lovely Kelpie - Peter...he loves company and affection. 👍🏻 He gets along very well with their ducks and chooks.

We stayed 5 nights at Girragirra Retreat to explore the local area. The retreat was very peaceful, the birdlife was amazing, bedroom and living area so comfortable, it was a pleasure to return to after a day out. The hosts Wendy and Kim gave helpful suggestions on what to see, providing wonderful treats from their vegetable garden and delicious bread every morning. We will be going back!

From the moment we pulled into the drive with its lovely welcome sign, to the all-to-soon farewell at the end of our stay, we loved every minute of time spent at GirraGirra. Wendy and Kim are amazing hosts and they made us feel incredibly welcome. The property is set up with all the mod cons and you literally want for nothing. This country has many excellent farm stay properties and this one is at the very top of that list.
