Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really nice hotel with well furnished, clean and spacious rooms. Very kind staff. We also had the opportunity to have breakfast at the nearby Villa Abazia hotel (owned by the same owners) which was top notch. I advise!

We stayed for 3 nights, overall experience was excellent, tremendous value for money and the Hotel is sited in the lovely town of Follina a 65 minute drive from Venice.

Staff were very friendly and the food at the Hotel ABBAZIA (owned by the De Chiostr owners) which is across the road was excellent both in choice, quality and service

all together a very enjoyable experience - with air conditioning.

This is the sister hotel to the more expensive Hotel Abazzia - which is just over the street. However, you get to have your breakfast there and can choose to eat in their Michelin one star restaurant. Great shutters to ensure a good nights rest without sun-light. You do have to get used to the chimes from the bell tower. Great little bar outside - full of locals but very welcoming.

Stayed here as part of a business group, the hotel itself is nice enough but the "Manager/Owner" has issues with the bar next door and at 2am was screaming at them and turned the hose on the local people drinking there. Charged each room 20 euros for "disturbance" despite the fact that a. We were the only guests in the hotel and b. Most of us went quietly to our rooms. It's basically their way of making some extra money out of business groups. When we asked to speak to the Manager he was "too busy to see us". I'm sure there are a lot better hotels to stay in around the area.

Response from abbaziasas, Proprietario at Hotel Dei Chiostri
Responded 26 Sept 2016
This is the first time in 20 years of hotel experience that we have applied a fine to a guest’s bill. In the early hours of the morning, several guests who were part of the business group returned to the structure drunk and disturbed other guests who were already sleeping. They also created physical damage in the rooms so we charged the fine to recover part of the costs to remediate the room damage. As far as the hose is concerned, we were informed that a neighbor nearby responded to the noise level in this way. In respect for the community, our quiet hours begin at 11pm.

Very characterful and quirky hotel. Our arrival was dealt with very efficiently - and quite informally.
The rooms are all very different with some being much bigger with more comfortable than others.
If you want a bath, king size bed or twin beds etc let the proprietor know in advance to be sure that he can meet your request.
The bed was very comfortable with nice bedlinen.
Breakfast was continental style and very good but would have been improved if there had been some fresh fruit available.
Unfortunately the wi-fi didn't work at all - but everything else was good.

We were abruptly treated at the reception by the hotel owner. Having booked a standard room, extemely small, breakfast was not included, we were offered an upgrade at a special rate which was not in their books at check out and an ordeal to straighten out. They focus on their sister hotel across the street which is considerably more expensive. There is a gourmet restaurant in the sister hotel, but if you do not want that experience there are not any other great eating options within walking distance . We have been traveling in this area of Italy for over a decade and never had such an experience.

We have stayed here on a number of occasions. Rooms are very nice, a few offering beautiful views of the inner courtyard. Higher quality than most other mid-range hotels in Italy. Service is excellent and extremely friendly - owned by the Relais Chateaux Villa Abbazia next door - very helpful and eager to make your trip special. Essentially, you get R&C service at very friendly rates. Walking distance to at least 4 very good to excellent local restaurants, including Abbazia's michelin starred restaurant.

We had 2 night stay here. Hotel is across the street from their restaurant and we, like other reviewers were locked out of the hotel on arrival. The owner turned up eventually and we got in. Wifi didn't work in the first room, a junior suite so he moved us to another room upstairs which was better. Food at restaurant was good but expensive and the owner's wine recommendations were ok at best ...and expensive when we got the bill which we renegotiated with him. Interestingly the locals all went to the other places nearby, not to this place. Lovely area, very good walking and scenery but can't recommend this hotel.
