We booked La Petite Madeleine as we were cycling in the Bordeaux area, and were looking for somewhere bike-friendly - they were very helpful in this regard. The B&B itself is a beautiful country home in the heart of Saint-Emilion wine country but the welcome is what makes it stand out. We requested to check in early as my partner...

Happy that you enjoyed. We sympathised with your patner not feeling well and travelling at the same time (and by bike)! About the kitchen we leave for the guests to use, it is not fully equiped. There is no oven. But it is useful to prepare cold simple food :) Véronique and Thor Inge

We have just spent 2 nights in this charming bed and breakfast. The hosts, Veronique and Thor could not have been better or more welcoming hosts. Veronique greeted us warmly on arrival, showed us around then showed us our rooms. We were a party of 5 with 3 rooms, all generously proportioned with very comfortable linens and pillows and all...

This was our first time visiting the Saint-Emilion area. We met two other couples from the US there and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The family who owns the Hotes de Chambres made us feel completely welcome and at home always. The rooms were nice, the food very good, and ambiance outstanding. We couldn't have picked a more enjoyable atmosphere. Thor,...

This is a very unique experience in a pleasant , quiet bed and breakfast in the middle of the vineyards! It is a short drive from the medieval village of St. Emilion . The outstanding cooking of Thor-Inge should not be missed! He and his charming wife Veronique prepare and present good breakfasts and outstanding dinners. In addition they offer...

We were 7 family members and we stayed at this bed and breakfast. The couple who run this are very accommodating and helpful. One of the members of our party was sick after arriving in France and decided to stay back at the B & B for two days while the rest of us went into Bordeaux. The lady of...

We hope that all the members of the family are well, back in Canada and Australia. About the mosquitos, we normally do not get too many. But it is true that the weather was especially hot and heavy during your stay. So, just in case, we provide an "anti mosquitos' plug" that you can plug or not... It is usually...

This beautiful and welcoming B&B is nestled right in the heart of the wine country with vinyards in every direction. Our hosts, Troy and Veronique could not have been friendlier or more helpful - they are great ambassadors of the area. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh croissants, breads, orange juice, jellies and jams, and...

Thor Inge (Troy is maybe an americanized version of his norwegian surname) and I had a very good time having you at La Petite Madeleine. We hope that you are enjoying following the steps of your book character Bruno! Véronique

The five room bed and breakfast is tranquil and festive at the same time! Véronique and Thor provide hospitality that is welcoming. The shower has wonderfully hot water and quite large! The queen/king beds are very comfortable! The views of the vineyards are incredible! We did book dinner with them. Wine chosen by Thor was perfect as was the meal!...

Everything about our 2 night stay was perfect, Thor and Veronique were very welcoming. The accomodation is close to Saint-Emilio while having a very rural feel, our room overlooked the vineyards making for lovely views to wakeup too. Veronique was also very helpful in recommending and calling ahead for winery visits.

The house has a stunning aspect; our room looked out over fields covered in vines and to a chateaux beyond. Our rooms were comfortable, large and light and the house itself was charming.
