We have just returned having had a fabulous time with Fox safari camps with our teenage granddaughter. It was her first experience of safari and she was not disappointed. We first stayed for four nights at Ruaha River Lodge. We had an adult male hippo...More
This was our first safari camp as a family. My husband and 2 daughters ages 11 and 13 stayed for 4 nights at Ruaha and loved it. The setting is beautiful and the bandas are located right on the river looking out over hippos and...More
We have just returned from a 6 night stay at Ruaha River Lodge. The river flows just in front of your banda attracting regular hippo, elephant, baboon and bird visitors. If you choose to stay in camp you certainly won't miss out on wildlife. Also,...More

Hi there, we paid with US Dollars and would recommend taking those. Low denomination for taxi driver type tips plus some Tanzania Shillings you can buy at the hotel if you're having a stay over or airport between international and local transfer. Not really answering your question but, if you budget for beers at $4 each, wine between $18-25. There are safes in the lodges to keep cash in. My other half is pretty sure they would accept credit cards but, I'd check direct with your travel company.
Hope that helps!
