The Hotel has an interesting style with thatched roofs. The rooms are very spacious and nicely appointed. They also have a swimming pool. There is also evening entertainment program by the poolside bar. The restaurant food is also nice. The staff is very helpful. All in all a great stay. Evenings do get cold in these parts, so a fireplace...

This was our first of three Serena hotels. The other two were the Serengeti Serena and the Stone Town in Zanzibar. I have nothing but good things to say about all three. The rooms are very nice, the food is delicious (buffet breakfast and dinner), but the best quality in my opinion is the staff. They are extremely professional, friendly,...

I stopped by the resort for an afternoon for a bite and to use their wifi, and found the place to be quite nice. They simultaneously manage to come off as both rustic and refined, with an infinity pool overlooking the valley which is world class. The food and drink were alright, though the bartender had a different approach to...

We found this hotel to be very friendly. The pool was great. Our lodge rooms were large but a little bit dated compared to others we stayed in in Tanzania. There was no coffee/tea in the rooms. The food was excellent as were the staff. The packed meal were huge, you would not go hungry. The food was excellent for...

This is one of my favorite Serena Hotels. The setting generally is lovely; the pool is beautiful; and it has a wonderful view. We enjoyed having dinner and breakfast by open windows and were fortunate enough to have the set menu, rather than a buffet. The hotel is starting to show its age in some ways; however, it is still...

Rooms are clean, with unique design and great views. Infinity pool is great as well. Food was great during dinner and breakfast as well. We only stayed one night and wished for more. Overall - very enjoyable stay! Highly recommended.

Upon arrival we were greeted with a hot towel and drink which was very much appreciated. Check-in was quick and very efficient. We found our room to be very comfortable and our shower was great. Free live entertainment was located at the bar overlooking the beautiful valley. Music and performers were excellent. Very nice swimming pool.

Location, with respect to views, is priviledged in the tip of the scarpment overlooking Lake Manyara, the park and the town of Mto. A dirt road that looks difficult in a rainy season through a very dilapidated area leads to the lodge. Rooms are comfortable, spacious, with wifi and well maintained. Staff OK, not special, as is the food. Greatest...

The lodge was nice and comfortable. Good place to stay when in the area. Good WiFi even in the rooms. Because I was with a group I did not get to see much of what they have to offer but it seems they can offer a lot of local activities.

Taking as its muse the glorious bird life of the fabulously soda-encrusted and pink flamingo-fringed...Lake Manyara, the swooping curves of this elegantly evocative lodge defy description. As do the soaring views over the Great Rift Valley, the rose-gold sunsets over the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment and the utterly unique tree climbing Lake Manyara lions. ... more   less
